An Update on Jaquelyne |
| An update on our Jaquelyne [or Billie] - Chief Archivist… Billie says she has about 75% [of her vision back] but I think that is doubtful. I would say she has about 60%. If the room is the least bit dark she cannot see. She cannot read a book yet, even the large print. She has her computer set on high contrast and still cannot see it very well. She can see the TV if she is sitting really close. She tells me that she cannot see the smaller details. When she goes to the movie she sits in the first or second row. Her eye doctor says hopefully she will get it [her sight] back. We are making the best of it. She has been given disability for the next 3 years to give her a chance to recover. She wants us to try and write a story together. We are going to try one. She wants me to help her write a new chapter of [her] “Bedtime Stories.” We will try and see what we come up with later. Mugglegurl – Jaq is our Chief Archivist since about the time SIYE was created. About 18 months ago, she had an abrupt medical condition that nearly killed her. She is recovering well but her eyesight is returning very slowly. The staff is still in contact with her via her mum, Pat, and we keep her loyal readers up to date. We are waiting for the day she can return to us and resume her position back on the staff.
