For the longest time, HTML codes, images and links to other sites have not been allowed in the summary of the stories posted at SIYE. At the old site, next to the summary block, was the sentence, “HTML codes not allowed in summary.” Because Steve and the tech team have been working very hard to make it easier for writers using MSWord to post their stories, the use of HTML codes have been expanded for SIYE2. However, that does not mean you may use them in your summary.
You may mention your live journal or other sites that have your writing, but the only place that you can have a link or images is your bio page. They may not be in the body of your story or Author Notes.
Rule 9 now reads:
HTML codes, images and links to other sites are not allowed in your summary. Unfortunately, the script lets them by. Please note that if we find them, we will delete them without notification.
If you are already in violation of this rule, please correct your summary.
Thank you.

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2006.05.05 - 02:39PM to say:
As a staff member who has access to these things, I have been removing them as I find them. One story, concerning a bathroom scene, had a number of embedded links to an online retail store selling soaps, towels, and other bathroom merchandise. They're obviously gone now.
