Comments Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 10:08AM to say: When I saw the results, I almost fell out of my chair. I literally couldn't speak (don't say it). Spenser is dancing on the ceiling. Thud! Oops...not any more. He and I both thank you, and extend our sincere congratulations to everyone. Burundian Kowtowing Dark Roast for the house...on me! Eric B. cwarbeck came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 10:15AM to say: Wow. I'm honored to have gotten any place at all - and amongst the company of such distinguished authors. Thanks to those who voted for me and congrats to all the winners. Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 10:22AM to say: Spenser dintinguished? Bwah ha ha, ho ho hah! Please stop...you're killing me! Ho ha ha! Oh my sides are aching! Hee hee hee! He is going to have to include that in his next humor/comedy entry. Ho ho hah hah! lecook4 came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 11:01AM to say: Congrats to all. Every story nominated was worth a prize. Yeah, distinguished and Spencer - now there's a contradiction in terms. LOL! Just kidding - you deserved to win. It was an excellent story. Glad to see Cwarbeck got an HM. I really loved all the stories. cwarbeck came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 11:10AM to say: Um, I don't want to be subject to an official investigation by the Aurors for the death of Spenser by incessant giggling, so I guess I'll take back what I said about him being a distinguished author? :) Really, congratulations, Eric. Thanks, lecook4. Professor Scroll came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 11:46AM to say: Congrats to all the winners and everyone involved in the challenge. I'm with Eric, I am amazed, but I'm grinning like a Cornish Pixie. Thanks to all of the judges and expecially Sir Ollivander for creating such wonderful challenges that spark ittle plot bunnies to form. lucky_black_cat came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 03:46PM to say: OH MY GOD! *squals* I can't believe this, I can't! I love you all! I really do! Thank you! I need to get this sudden energy out of my system. You're all awesome! Have I already mentioned how much I love you? LOL! Thanks a million! ~Sonia Torak came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.15 - 03:53PM to say: What's this? My two-hour fic didn't win Best Overall? Shocking! :-D Congrats, folks! AdminQ came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.16 - 02:27AM to say: Congratz to all the new winners this weekend. I liked reading the stories and got a good chuckle out of them, well done all. PhoenixAeternum came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.16 - 03:40AM to say: Haha..... Steve makes me laugh. And Eric, if it makes Spenser giggle more (DIE! DIE! DIE!) I will go so far as to announce (though rather late, I know) that his creation is greater than the second coming of Iesus Christus! ....Do I still get the Dark Roast? Oh yeah, congratulations to you all! -T dramaqueen came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.16 - 08:33AM to say: Hmmm...Steve, what do you have up your sleeve? SilverPhoenix came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.16 - 08:48PM to say: I agree with cwarbeck--I'm so happy to have won the category and among such amazing authors! Congrats to everyone! Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.17 - 12:35AM to say: Holy smoke! It just occurred to me. AdminQ's story did not receive an award. This is scandalous! An outrage in fact! It was a masterpiece.. I laughed...I cried...I couldn't find a single word in my Oxford dictionary. Regardless, we need to examine, study, preserve and salute this wonderful bit of literary history. AdminQ...your Test Story shall rank up there among those other great works! Harry Potter Meets Spiro Agnew, A Tale Of Two Hippogriffs, and the immortal A Connecticut Yankee In Death Valley. Perhaps we seriously need to reexamine our selection criteria! Eric B. lucky_black_cat came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.17 - 07:46AM to say: Thanks for alerting everyone to this horrible tragedy. Indeed, Steve's story was something far greater than anything I've read before. After I finished it, I was tempted to leave everything and go live to a park, to watch children play and feed the doves. It was an amazing feeling. Let's make this AdminQ Appreciation Day. I'm willing to give up *not* my award to the cause. -Sonia. Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.17 - 09:31AM to say: Everyday should be AdminQ Appreciation Day! Today, July 17 however happens to be that day I deemed to be my character Spenser Hemmingway's birthday. One year ago today, I finished Half-blood Prince. I was so angry about J.K. Rowling breaking up Harry and Ginny that I started writing--Spenser was born. So you see, it really was all her fault. I guess that the Challenge win was his present two days early. Thanks. Eric B. (no mine's in August and I share it with Rupert Grint). Jim McGuffin came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.17 - 05:28PM to say: As a judge, I'd like to congratulate all the winners once more. This was one of my favorite challenges, with so many writers coming up with intriguing post-HBP reformed Death Eaters, Horcruxes, and so on. I can't wait for the next challenge! brittpinkie came out of the woodwork on 2006.07.17 - 08:56PM to say: Congratulations everyone!
