Comments Sovran came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.14 - 04:00PM to say: It's great to see these efforts continuing. This is why SIYE's general quality is so much higher than that of most sites. If you find that you need more validation readers (or whatever you call them officially), send out the word. I would be willing to help, and I know of a couple of other authors that probably would, too. Great work! Dave moshpit came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.14 - 05:46PM to say: Much like Sovran, I would also volunteer my time and energy if you need it. I've noticed a pretty high variability in the quality of work out there, which is why I only post on SIYE and mostly only read stories here. I very much appreciate the efforts of the admins and validators and like here. If I can contribute to the overall effort, please do let me know. Thanks for your hard work. Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.14 - 07:13PM to say: I am very glad to see all the positive comments about what we are talking about here. For those few who do not like our overseeing submissions, please remember that the standards are even tighter for publishing something professionally, and even in college for that matter. We have some great stories posted here. Let's have some more that are just as good-looking. Thanks! Eric B. SilverPhoenix came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.14 - 09:08PM to say: I am very glad that SIYE is reinforcing these rules! This is one of the only sites I will go to anymore, because unlike the larger Harry Potter fan fiction sites, the writing isn't deteriorating--or rather, I've noticed a growing deterioration, but hopefully this will keep that from coming up! I'd gladly help out around here too, but, as I'm already a beta for new authors, I'm too busy and, I think I'm already helping in some small way. Three cheers for whomever created this new rule! HeatherWeasley_lover came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.15 - 06:12AM to say: I would suggest that if they are not sure on a Canon spelling then they should go to http://hp-lexicon.org/index-2.html It is the best site ever and JK herself uses it to check up on things when she can't remember. deenas came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.15 - 11:39AM to say: Excellent point. I have a degree in English and when I come upon spelling error after spelling errow, it akes away from my enjoyment of the story and I usually just stop reading. Well put and thank you. dramaqueen came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.15 - 09:05PM to say: SilverPhoenix - Technically it's not a new rule, just a reminder. Because it's very nice when everybody remembers--staff and authors. Fire_N_Ice_suks came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.16 - 12:40AM to say: It's good you put this up, people are messing up the spelling and casing of titles badly. emily0403 came out of the woodwork on 2006.08.16 - 03:07AM to say: Thanks for reminding authors of these things! There are good stories on this site and thats why I come here, but there are some that need grammar work and I either don't read them or do my best to ignore it. And I've been tossing a fic idea around in my head because I have never seen an H/G fic with the theme and if I do write it I'll be sure to keep all the rules in mind. | |||||||||||

Thank you for making this so clear. It's very helpful. I, for one, appreciate all SIYE does to protect the integrity of this site. Thanks.
