Deathly Hallows Challenge Closed
So, the first Challenge of the New Year is now closed. At the last minute, we now have seven submissions to challenge our fine judges, five of which are completed. These seven will be competing for the title of Best Overall, Drama, Security, and Adventure. The judges for this Challenge are experienced in writing stories and judging such contests.

The candidate stories are quite varied in their theme and imagination. One is of letters from the past while one is from a very entertaining and informative dialogue of the English language. The various methods of securing the three Hallows and foiling a theft were quite ingenious.

By the time you read this, the judges have already begun to read all the entries and marking up their scores for judging. Their votes will be submitted to me by Saturday, March 14, so I may post the winners on Sunday, the 15th.

Good luck to all authors.

Good luck to all of the authors! I almost finished mine... but someone seems to have stolen the last few days of February. I know I could have finished it by the 33rd!

And Now For Something Completely Different. Hmm...good title, but it's been done. I do have the start of a great idea, if I can get some cooperation from Nearly Headless Nick. Did you know that he was once a lumberjack, and he's okay?

What do you mean Eric?! Tell us!! Tell us now!!

Whoa!! I wasn't expecting the Freedonian Inquisition! No one is expecting the Freedonian Inquisition!! What the feldercarb is the Freedonian Inquisition?!

Torak came out of the woodwork on 2009.03.01 - 11:26PM to say:

Of course you weren't! No one expects the Freedonian Inquisition! Its chief weapon is surprise, and fear! Okay, it's two main weapons are surprise and fear, and ruthless efficiency. Oh, sod it.

Hmmm..."Something very different"... Well in honor of the late Paul Harvey - "And now for the rest of the story." Congrats and best wishes to all the authors on this latest contest. - Mike

somethingverydifferent I always loved to do these word puzzles....though I have no clue why it's here of the blue. ^_^

Sweetdreamer285 - I believe the word puzzles are supposed to be teasers/clues to the next challenge. A way to help us get our creative juices flowing in advance as it were. Won't swear that's the answer, but it's my take on it. - Mike

Torak came out of the woodwork on 2009.03.03 - 12:57AM to say:

That's exactly it, yes. Spenser's guesses are usually spot on... more or less. ;-)

There is no telling what Sir Ollivander is thinking...but it has to be good. Wink
