The Burrow Challenge Update #1

The Weasley family, along with a wife, a couple of girlfriends, and one raven-haired boyfriend, stood together looking at the front of the house after they all walked through the parts that were available to be walked through what was once The Burrow.

“Well, what do you all think?” the patriarch asked nobody but everybody.

“She has good bones.  I think we should clear out all the damaged sections and rebuilt what once was.” from Bill.

“Maybe add on to the foundation and build out more to have a bigger kitchen and living room and then bigger bedrooms.” Charlie added.

“We need to call in a professional as we are not qualified to design any structure.” Percy threw in.

“Can we add a lab or maybe a storage room?” George dared to ask.

“It doesn’t look that bad.  Magic should be able to fix most of it.”  Ron was thinking, or maybe not.

“Can we have another loo this time?” Ginny thought out loud.

When no other comments were forthcoming, everybody looked around to see Harry and Hermione whispering quietly and drawing something on some parchment which Hermione always has on hand.

“What do you have there?” questioned Fleu.

Harry spoke up for the two of them.  “I think you all have some good ideas.  I’m thinking of hiring a professional, tear down to the foundation, add to it, and build a bigger house.  Larger living and dining rooms and a bigger kitchen.  Then two new floors with three or four bedrooms and a loo each.  And on top an attic with some storage.”

Hermione held up the drawing and added, “Something like this.”  Everybody moved closer to take a look.  Finally, Molly Weasley spoke up for the first time….

If you haven’t started thinking of the new Burrow, now’s a good time to start.  Maybe this idea will help.

I'm suprised that no one has submitted anything for this challenge yet. It seems like it would be a really interesting one to me.

Well ... that sucked. I bet this answer fails too. *sigh*

Fail. Major fail.

Argh! This is a really tough one to attempt for me. I've already used the plot line twice in my stories. I made Spenser totally inept with tools as a running joke--my father is a retired general contractor, and carpentry is sort of our family business. You would not believe the construction company I had come to Harry and Ginny's rescue once. I need to try to do this Challenge without plagiarizing myself. I hope I can.

Well, someone is a basket of sunshine this morning. What was your question?

Kezzabear came out of the woodwork on 2010.10.30 - 09:58AM to say:

LOL I'm sorry I gave up and now I don't even know what I was going to say ... erm ... nope, no idea! I just remember trying to type a post and it not going through unless I wrote like one sentence only. Meanwhile ... I don't think there are any stories written for this challenge at all ...
