The Burrow Challenge Closed

The new Burrow is built, the Weasley Family has moved in, and “The Burrow” Challenge is now closed.  We now turn to our housing inspectors to review all the submitted stories to see which qualifies for Best Overall, Planning & Building, Adventure/Comedy, and Family.  The results will be posted for public viewing on Monday, November 15, 2010.  Kudos for all that entered.

Kezzabear came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.02 - 09:18AM to say:

Isn't there only one story there? Are there some still in the queue we've not seen yet?

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.02 - 10:24AM to say:

No, the queue is empty. There is only one story submitted for this Challenge. I tried to express a positive note about it. That's why it sounds like there is more than one.

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 09:34AM to say:

It felt so incredibly strange sitting out a Challenge this round.

See in dark? Hmm...? Ginny nurses Harry back to health after he near-cripples himself--slamming his shins into a coffee table while stumbling around in the dark. That has to be it! I'm never wrong (except for all those times I have been). What's more, I haven't already written a story about that (as I had with this last one).

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 10:59AM to say:

It's getting harder to come up with original storylines for Challenges. Harry and Ginny are not going to Disneyland for the 100th time. Even the next Challenge has been done in certain ways already. I'm just putting a little spin on it. Something to be unique. It should work.

Count Westwest came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 12:03PM to say:

If you are taking suggestions for a challenge... How about a challenge about a Hogwarts School reunion, Class of 99.

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 01:34PM to say:

Count Westwest - I'm always up for suggestions. A school reunion is a good idea to work with. Thanks.

HarryGinnyDestiny came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 04:43PM to say:

I have 2 really cool ideas for a challenge id really like to read. Who do I submit them to??

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 04:50PM to say:

HarryGinnyDestiny - ME! SirOllivander@aol.com

HarryGinnyDestiny came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 05:08PM to say:

Sorry Sir Ollivander, only noticed your reply there. :)

Bear came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 06:28PM to say:

HarryGinnyDestiny: I removed your challenge ideas from the comments here and forwarded them to Sir Ollivander. Just to keep the comments on the news entry cleaner.

HarryGinnyDestiny came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.03 - 06:40PM to say:

Thanks Bear.

tangle elfwand came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.04 - 04:07AM to say:

All my ideas for challenges would be really silly. Like 'Harry and Ginny win the lottery but they have 24 hours to claim it and Harry's off in Spain fighting Hannibal Barca!' Probably not as bad as that but still...

Northumbrian came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.05 - 03:41AM to say:

Hi I've already written this story, but how about this for a challenge. James Sirius, Albus Severus, Lily Luna. The names of five dead people and one living. Why did the Potters choose Luna for Lily's middle name? -N-

babewithbrains came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.05 - 05:52AM to say:

Other ideas for a challenge could be going back to the Mary-Sue one in a way, choosing a title and and making the story fit the bonus points. It doesn't necessarily have to be creating a Mary-Sue all over again, but perhaps we would get more varied entries if we just had to pick a title and write our own story out of that very short prompt. That's my idea. I saw how many entries the Mary-Sue one had, so...

tangle elfwand came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.05 - 08:33AM to say:

Oh I loved how the titles from the Mary-Sue one were all parodies of something. You could always do something like the Peter Pan challenge and make it some kind of fairy tale type thing. Which is kind of like what I'm working on at the moment...

Kezzabear came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.05 - 12:18PM to say:

Wow. It really doesn't want me to say anything longer than a sentence.

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.06 - 10:16AM to say:

I have a suggestion for a Challenge. I need a really good story for Robert as to why I allowed the SIYE ballroom to be destroyed again with the Halloween party last weekend. Sorry Boss.

Wondering Hail came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.08 - 09:20AM to say:

What about a Freaky Friday challenge? one character finds themselves in the body of another?

Quidditchmum came out of the woodwork on 2010.11.11 - 03:08AM to say:

Interesting.
