Yet another chapter that is oh so very close to what JKR actually did. And you did it so well!

Oh, the tears are welling. Such a lovely, lovely scene. I love the way you incorporated the locked room into the story. I've often wondered how that might work, and now I don't have to wonder any more - it fits perfectly. I'll be sad to see this story end.

good story...i look forward to reading the last four chapters, so i sincerely hope that you get them up soon....

i knew Pansy was up to something

i loved how you casually had Draco call Harry, Harry, instead of Potter....that in it of its self shows that he has come a long way...also that when Hermione touched him, he didnt flinch back...i must say, i do like, or at least tolerate this Draco...he seems, at least in the face of danger, to really want to help or whatever...

i like how you had dumbledore say something about making McGonagall's hair go grey...i can just imagine Harry getting caught by her and throwing his hands up in a defensive gesture while saying "Professor Dumbledore told me to give you some grey."

that would be humorous...

i think that it will be interesting to see Draco and Dudley become friends outside of purgatory...assuming that both are still alive...i want to see dudley try and live in the magical world...i highly doubt that he will go back to the muggle one...i mean, once you enter the magical world, it is really hard to leave...truly...plus, its a way to right piss his parents off...

okay...i should mention that i dont think taht you got what Dudley saw when the Dementor came close right...it has to be a memory...not their fear...the memory is their worst one...you know? just thought that i would point that out, in case you didnt know or something...maybe you knew and just decided to do it that way, i dont know, but i jsut thought that i would tell you.....

i loved how you had Dumbledore say that there were people on the other side cowed by Ginny...im sure that Dumbledore is included...and Percy, more likely than not...lol

i absolutely loved the scene with his parents, tonks, remus, and sirius...he really did need that....

okay...well...thats all i can think of...other than looking forward to seeing how the world changes and all that...have most of the bigotory towards muggles and muggleborns dissapate, or at least lessen? Will fred and Iris get together (Now there is something you dont see everyday)? i look forward to your afternath chapters, so please post the next chapter soon....i truely loved it...it war absolutely brilliant, i swear....

update soon...~Ginny M~

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it and can at least tolerate Draco.

OK, so I've finally caught up in reading this fic. Yeah!

And yeah! for Harry. As I'm sure countless others have already mentioned, that was a very ingenious way of getting around the Harry-as-a-Horcrux problem. I never thought about the idea of Harry making his own Horcrux until now. And by Harry sending it through the veil, this is one Snitch that no one will ever catch. Once again, I wonder whether Harry is a Horcrux in canon, and what he'd do about it if he is indeed a Horcrux -- whether it would be similar to this story.

And now, I remember how you said back in the "Curse of the Damned" Universe that you are fond of having a long "epilogue" of several chapters in order to bring closure to the story, and so this is the first of the five closure chapters. And, just like in CotD, we begin with Harry in a dreamlike state. I agree with the earlier reviewer who pointed out that Harry speaks to Dumbledore immediately after the climax in the first five books (and they speak together throughout HBP), so it's only fitting that Harry speaks to Dumbledore in this fic. And of course, it's bittersweet to have Harry meet Lupin, Sirius, and of course, his parents in the afterlife.

I look forward to reading the remaining epilogue chapters. There are still several loose ends to wrap up, including the Aurors vs. Death Eaters, battle at Hogwarts, who the new Minister of Magic will be (hopefully it won't be Umbridge anymore), and whether Harry/Ginny's dream of spending the day together at the beach -- the real beach, not the one in the Room of Requirement -- will come true.

Great story as always. Are you going to do a Prologue chapter for this?

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm assuming you mean an epilogue? Yes, there is one planned.

You made me cry! It was sooo good and I'm soo glad Harry finally got to see everyone again. He knows what James and Lily are like now. And I knew you weren't gonna kill him! Really..I did... Update soon cause it's really good!

this was the most beautiful chapter ever...it made me cry. (or it could be hormones). either way I alway wonderd about the locked room and hope JKR will bring it into book 7, But I absolutly love your idea of what you think it is. Closure for Harry is so important and to see it in this light is wonderful.

Author's Response: Thanks! JKR did say we'd see that room again, so I'm very curious.

So, how was the move? Are you all settled in?

First, since I missed a review last chapter, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your take on Harry's desctruction of Voldemort. I was glad Harry trusted his friends enough to listen at the end and I thought the snitch was an interesting twist. My favorite part, I think, was that Draco was willing to help call Voldemort to the Department of Mysteries. I always thought there was hope for him.

Now, to this chapter. I, too, cry at the Hallmark commercials, but this was way beyond that. I was choked up thorugh the entire thing. I thought you did a great job of expressing Harry's exhaustion and letting us see how that affected his emotions at seeing his parents, Sirius, and Lupin again. I know you have reviewers arguing that it's cheating to allow him that opportunity, and maybe it is, but hasn't the boy been through enough? That's one of the things I like about fanfic, he gets the opportunity to have some...I don't know...closure?

I'm so glad there are several chapters left to bring us closure as well. :) I can't wait to see your take on a romantic ending. Oh, please tell me we get a romantic ending!

Author's Response: Heh, the move is okay. Unfortunately, its only temporary. When our house is finished, we'll have to move back. It's fun for the moment though since we're staying at the beach. Thanks very much, and I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I'm going to attempt some romance - you'll have to let me know if I succeed since I know it's not my strong suit.

*sniff* That was wonderful. Interesting way to incorporate the locked door. I was positively bawling when Harry finally got to speak with his parents. Lily and James are two of my favorite characters (despite the fact that most of my experience with their characters comes from fanfiction, lol), and they were exactly how I picture they would be. Lily's 'macho' thing and James talking about Quidditch were two of my favorite parts with them. And when Lily told Harry she loved him. *sob* So good. And Sirius' comments were hilarious as well.

(I hope something like this happens in the books...Harry deserves it.)

Author's Response: Thanks! I hope something like this happens, as well. He does deserve it :)

I just love this kind of chapters. They make me all teary...
So, the Healers are going to be coming for Harry when Leticia Warbanks gets to the Ministry and gets the shock of her life? Gosh, I'd like to see that scene, lol.
The talk with Dumbledore was just fantabulastic, like I'm used to saying. That's one fo the things I'd like to see in canon and am almost 100% sure that I won't :( Well, at least not with Harry alive.
Oh, Harry wanting to stay with his dead mentors (if I can call them that, anyway)... just superb. I like it when I see Harry divided between the love for his dead ones and the living ones, though it's a bit sad :(
LOL for Sirius chatting up the blonde and James and his super-lightened Quidditch pitch! That Heaven (or is it Hell? =P) must be a very fun one indeed ;)
Something no one has ever done is picturing Voldemort after his death *hint, hint* I reckon that should be hilarious to have the villain cowering in fear of everything he sees...
Lily and Harry, now, you made me all sad in the end of the chapter, damn it... also, LOL and the macho thing, he he ;) Kinda surprising to see it put in such an emotional chapter... or rather, that's why you put it there, I think...
Harry hugging Dumbledore... can I say "awwwww!!"? It was long overdue...
I hope you forgive my lateness. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter,
- CM

Author's Response: Hee, thanks. I love this kind of chapter, too. Don't count out DD yet. JKR was firm that he's dead, but less firm about us seeing him again. While most likely this will be through his portrait, there is always the chance of seeing him as a "shade" much like during the Priori Incantatum.

This was another good piece of work.

As a general matter I'm not crazy about wish-fulfillment scenes in which a character gets to say everything he wants to the dear departed, and they get to say it to him, because in a sense it's too easy. It's a "deus ex machina" device that gets around the real difficulties of mourning and loss, which I think are really important.

Having said that, it was useful (and touching) to have Harry's mother there to tell him to be a gentlemen to Ginny and, importantly, to "let her into your head as well as your heart." This is one of the things for which a young man really needs a mother, and so filling that gap, albeit with a device I ususally don't like, was a good thing. On the other hand, I don't think we really needed to hear how proud everyone was of Harry. Also I'm not sure that Dumbledore's advice about spiritual healing was necessary; I'd like to think that the determined, stubborn & clever Weasley, Weasley & Granger would have pounded that into his head during his convelescence anyway.

Still, I think this scene can serve as a nice transition to what I presume will be a long convelescence sequence in which Harry will need to come to grips with a life without Voldemort.

Having read your A/N, I now know that you'll probably never read my first two stories, or at least not the most recent one. That makes me sad, but I understand your reasons.

Ken

Author's Response: Thanks. You're not the only one who doesn't care for these kinds of scenes, but there are others (like me) who dont' think a HP story is complete without them, lol. Harry already had a brief opportunity to speak with his dead parents through the shades in GoF, so I do have hope that he will get a real opportunity to speak with them before it's over. It's my wish for him, anyway. As for your stories...I take it they involve Harry's death, then? Yikes, I just can't read that. I have a really good online friend who recently wrote one. I generally prebeta her work, but she knew not even to ask for that one, lol.

More tears (reaches for the kleenex box again), you'd think by now I would have it on hand while reading your story.

The contact with Harry and Lily was perfect. And then there was James, with the macho thing. Sirius off chasing women, why am I not surprised, but missing everything in the process. He'll never learn. Remus, quiet and steady, as always.

Perfect chapter. Do me a favor next time, put a Tissue Warning or something, so I can make sure the box is nearby.

Author's Response: Aww, thanks much. I'm glad you thought the Marauders were right. I'm glad you enjoyed it.,

I somehow always know when you're going to update. I get an e-mail from ff.net whenever you do - I just read it here - and for some reason, when I got up this morning, I just KNEW I'd have an e-mail for this. I'm so psychic.

Anywho, awesome chapter, of course. Although I was sad that Harry didn't get to say goodbye to his father at first, I understood why he wanted to remember them all "that way" after I thought about it. Nice little touch that the only thing Harry and James could really talk about comfortably was Qudditch. Heh, it's so them! XP

The macho line cracked me up. It's definitely how I pictured Lily.

Anyway, update soon (I know you will) because I'm real excited to see who you killed off!

Author's Response: Hee, so you should change your Login Name to Professor Trelawney, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it, particularly James and Lily.
