Absolutely brilliant story! Most definitely worthy of the other stories you have written. First story of yours I read was PoE and then CotD, they were and still are at the very top of my list of all time favorite stories and I would have to say this has fast joined them up there. Which is surprising considering I can never get into Post-HBP stories, there have been a couple I enjoyed but this just blows them away. I must say that news article didn't actually surprise me much, I got the feeling that Dudley (if it was him) would go down the darker route, you left quite a number of clues that lead to that (and it does fit his character). Loved that Harry got to have the family he deserves so much, if anything has to happen in the book 7 then it is Harry & Ginny getting back together and both of them surviving to go on and have a life and family together.
Anyway, really enjoyed the story and will definitely be interested in any future projects you start on. Hang, I've honestly been thinking of re-reading PoE for the 3rd or 4th time :). Big thanks also to your beta team, you all did a wonderful job.
Thanks again! :)

Oh wow, I'd almost forgotten about Dudley. Nicely done - it gave me chills. And so history repeats itself...
I still love how you ended the chapter before the Epilogue with "scar," and you actually managed to top that chapter with this one. My favorite line may be "we'll all be family - for real!" Very touching. (Although Ron taunting Snape is great, too.)
Thank you again - I've absolutely loved reading this.

I LOVE this story - thank you, thank you, thank you for writing it. And you even ended with the word "scar." : ) I hope the official 7th book has as happy an ending as "The Seventh Horcrux." Beautifully done.

Title: Epilogue
I'm so so sad to see this end, but I suppose it had to sooner or later.
Well, I loved the whole thing, but I'll try to narrow this down as best as I can.
I really liked the interaction between Harry and Hermione. So few authors have the courage to show the more affection side of their friendship. You, however, had no problems with it at all. James is adorable. Of course, any child of Harry and Ginny's would be adorable.
Loved the scene with Harry and Bill too. Ah, the joys of fatherhood, haha.
Ron updating Snape on everything good in Harry's life is just utterly perfect. Very in-character. I could definitely see Harry not wanting to ever see Snape ever again, but Ron would most certainly want to torture him by any means he can.
Awesome ending all around, but I honestly feel like I just finished the seventh book. =( [Sniff] At least your's has a happy ending...somewhat. What the heck was with the end woman?! I definitely could have done without seeing that! Brat...
Seriously, Dudley wasn't the first person to pop into my head, but after reading the reviews I guess it makes sense. However, no, I don't think he acted alone. Makes me curious though because I couldn't see your Malfoy doing something to help him. Ah well, hopefully you'll do a one-shot of sorts updating us on THAT subject. =) Great story girl, it is by far the best version of the seventh book around. Standing ovation!

*smiles* a lovely way to end the story.... (for the most part)
I especially liked:
James threw my glasses on the ground three times," Harry said, listing their adventures.
"Why don’t you just Charm them to stay on?" Ginny asked, laughing.
"That would ruin his game," Harry said, shocked she would suggest such a thing.
I also liked the OBHWF ref. :-)
you just had to throw in that twist at the end there didn't you? *wry smile*
I would like to see sequels, though I think a few one shots would do nicely. :-)

Another well-done story, Melinda.
Neither you nor I have any idea what the seventh book will be like. But certainly this fic is as good as any as a take on book seven. This is filled with action, angst (of course), a little comic relief, and even a little romance (despite your lack of Trinket nominations in that area).
You brought up a few interesting points in your finale. So Harry and Ginny's dream comes true after all, with Ted/Andromeda offering the use of their beach house. The friendship between Harry and Draco has its parallels in that between Harry/Ron and Hermione -- I notice how you point out that after something as big as defeating Voldemort H/D can't help being friends (cf. H/R, Hermione defeating the troll in book one) -- a deliberate comparison on your part. And of course, as others have already pointed out, you ended with the word "scar," as JKR said she would. Parallelism is definitely one of your strong points.
Now what's this I hear about there being no sequel? Although I know you'd definitely like to rest after writing such as colossal fic, deep inside I know you want to write a continuation someday, the way you leave the ending open with Dudley. Hopefully, there wouldn't be a complete parallel between Dudley and Voldemort, with Dudley killing H/G and leaving James as the new Chosen One. BTW, I disagree with the previous reviewer. Naming H/G's son James is a bit too cliche for me. Then again, I was also named after my own grandfather. Hopefully, if you do write a sequel, you won't have 5-10 chapters posted before I figure out that you're writing again, as happened to me with this fic.
Overall, excellent fic as always. Indeed, this fic is on my favorites list, as I'm sure it is on many others' lists too. So grab your final month's Trinket Awards, get some rest, and keep up the good work!
Author's Response: Oh, thanks very much. You're right - no one has the real answers, even though we all sometimes think we do! I can't wait to find out how JKR really ends it. I don't know if I'll be able to stay away from fanfic completely, but I am ready for a break. As for the name, Harry strikes me as someone who would honor his parents that way, particularly since his kids will get so much of the Weasley family history and heritage. I just thoght it seemed like something Harry would do.

I love ur epilogue!! It was a fantastic story and I'm so sad its over!! I'm really glad Harry && Ginny named their son James...I always thought it was a good name!!lol! I'm glad that MAlfoy && Ron r...somewat friends...and SO HAPPY that Snape was snetenced 2 life in Azkaban!! the endin was kinda creepy and threw me off a little...is Voldemort back??lol
Author's Response: Thanks! No, Voldemort is dead, but evil will never be completely gone. Voldemort came after Grindelwald, so there will eventually be another dark power.. As for James, I really do think its something Harry would do since he's surrounded by so much of the Weasley family and heritage all the time.

Delicious! ^_^
I love thinking of Harry as a father to a newborn baby, the image that creeps into my mind is just so sweet... I hate seeing children aged more than one, though (both in real life and in fiction), so I felt a kind of revulsion towards Bill's kid. Nothing against you, it's just me and my weirdness, I'm afraid :P
Hermione's insecurities, gosh, those were so typical. I can see her making a fuss about her wedding, worrying about everything, questioning herself and so on. Totally in character, in my opinion.
LOL for both Harry and Ron's antics in their stag nights. Now you've made me curious as to exactly what happened in Harry's!
I was secretly expecting a scene with Fleur shouting "my waters broke!" right in the middle of the ceremony, lol. Too bad it didn't happen (or be glad it didn't, depending on whose perspective it is)!
Yes! More about Harry, Ginny and James, please! *makes puppy eyes* Them and probably a whole Quidditch team of kids, if the parents keep going at each other like that! :D
Wow! Unexpected ending! It's kinda frightening, because it jusr reminds me so much of the beginning of GoF... the part about the three Riddles appearing dead in their house, seemingly frightened to death... I don't believe you wrote it like that for nothing - there's a parallel, right? I mean, Bryce saw Tom near the Riddles' the day they died, a neighbour saw Dudley near his parents' the day they died. It's ironic, really, isn't it, that Dudley, the child who had the least to complain about Vernon and Petunia out of the two they raised, would be the one to kill them (well, I'm assuming he did, but it's too interesting a suggestion you left us hanging with, and I don't see anyone but him attacking his parents, really) - for something completely stupid. I wonder if Darkness will rise again in the form of Dudley Dursley? That'd be an interesting twist, specially if Harry was the one to put him in his place...
Although you left me itching for a sequel, I'll understand if you don't feel like writing more. Let me just reiterate that you're one of the very best fanfiction writers out there. There wasn't a dull part in this story!
Best wishes,
- CM
Author's Response: Heh, you're in trouble then, because all babies do eventually become children, lol. I think Harry will thrive on being a dad. I did try and parallel the end with Riddle, so I'm glad you caught that. Dudley's always been a bully, and was able, even as a child, to get people to follow him. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Ah, finally well deserved sweetness and light, as it should be. Nice little kick at the end, to remind us that Dumbledore established that evil cannot be defeated, but by constant vigil it can be kept at bay.
Now that you're finished, you may read my story. I often disagreed with your Harry-Ginny relationship so it's fair that you get to critique mine.
Again congradulations on an excellent story, and outstanding achievement.

Oh no - what am I going to do? No weekly checking in for new updates! Tis finished!! ;o(
*sigh* Lovely ending though. Loki - such a perfect name for the next generation of mischief makers. Hermione in a tizz, and Luna informing her about the Fertility Goddess smiling on her wedding day *chuckle*.
And the ending - hmmm....Dudley, Dudley - what do you think you're up to?
I don't think I can say enough how much I loved your story. I'll still be checking back now and then in the hopes that you write more sequeling this story, even if they are only one-shots.
Fantastic! (as always)
Author's Response: Oh, thanks very much. Yes, I think Loki is only fitting for a future name for one of the Weasley twins' offspring, lol. I'm going to miss the weekly updates, too.

Some playing room?!? I'd say you've left a cliff-hanger!
There I was thoroughly enjoying the way this fantastic roller-coaster of a story was rolling to a gentle beautiful end, and BAM! Now I'm sitting here wondering if Dudley Dursley is a new Dark Lord!!!
LOL only you could do this. This story has been great. Well more than great. I hope book 7 is as good. I can't wait to see how many things you got right.
Thank you very very much for this wonderful story. It has been one of my all-time favourites, and I've read a lot of fanfic. Well, certainly more than I should have!
This really was outstanding.
Author's Response: Oh, thanks so much. I'm right with you there on reading too much fanfic, lol. I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed this one so much, and yes, I just couldn't resist the temptation of one more cliffy as the cycle begins again, lol.

Woah. I cant believe its over! I feel so HAPPY for harry and his new OBHW family! lol.
This story had to be one of the best post-HBP fics I have ever read. you just got it so RIGHT! And the fact that Harry lived DID help things...lmao. But, seriosly now, you are anamazingly talented writier, and I cant wait for any more of your writings.
I loved that fact that Hermione didnt want to get married so she could prove that she didnt just do it in the hype of the Fanial Battle euphoria. woot! And James sounds so cuuuuurte! I also loved how ginny wanted to just prove her brothers wrong by having a son, so SO in character. You have sucha good grasp on each of these characters, in a way, you made them your own. Though it will always be Jo who created them.
All in all, it has been a while since I read a story of such amazing quality. 10/10, every time.
