Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
Ah ha, the Sky Battle and the demise of Dumbledore. As you so properly noted, Harry's saving people thing would not allow him to abandon his headmaster, though a little application of his inner Dslytherine might have been for the best. Hopefully, Dumbledore will have enough strength left once this ends to impart some critical wisdom to Harry. Otherwise, the marginal utility of his sacrifice will be near negative infinity.
Author's Response: I apologize for waiting to respond to your review for so long. I haven't checked my statistics in quite a while, so I didn't know you'd reviewed. Anyway, you definitely have a handle on what's probably going to happen in this story. As with most hero stories, the mentor meets his demise when the hero needs him/her most; this story will follow that plot arch and Harry will receive the information he needs...eventually. It'll just be done in a rather unconventional way. Thanks for reviewing.

Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
According to the way, Dumbledore planned their return trip, letting Harry only take his broom and wand with him and slowing down the broom ride, one might assume that he knows what will happen. Is it caution? Did he planned such a thing? Hmm, strange!
It is impressive to see how Harry tries to remain calm and to save himself and Dumbledore.
Great instalment!
Author's Response: Just last week I was suffering from a very bad cold and taking some rather strong medicine to make it go away. While I was feeling bad and taking that medicine, I made some very stupid decisions just because my brain didn't seem to be functioning at normal speed. It very well could have been that Dumbledore was feeling the same way due to the potions he's taking to arrest the curse. Most likely, he knew that the more leisurely broom ride back to Hogwarts could invite trouble and he had Harry forward his stuff to the school as a precaution. I'm glad you liked this chapter.

Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
I did wonder at the beginning as Harry was memorising the landmarks around him, that maybe he would have a chance at some point to apparate himself and Dumbledore to safety. But he also now, fingers crossed anyway, has sent the same images to Ginny and lets pray she can use them to get a rescue bid going.
This story is SO exciting at the moment, but I think I might have to leave the next chapters for another day:( But at least it will get me through work tomorrow thinking about it!:)
Author's Response: Of the many angst-filled chapters I wrote for this story, this is one of my favorites. As terrible an experience as it is for Harry, he does some very brave things in this chapter: he trusts his connection with Ginny enough to try Banishing his wand to her for safekeeping, he memorizes landmarks in the hope that if he sends her images she'll eventually be able to help whoever is looking for him to at least trace his flight pattern. There's lots of excitement to come in the next few chapters and I look forward to reading your reaction to them.

Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
This is really looking good. I like the way you have portrayed the Death Eaters, and the explanation for why they flew in the first place. Harry's link to Voldemort shows well also. I get the feeliing that this chapter is more a setting-up exercise for what is to come. It explains some of what was merely assumed before - I had guessed that Harry had deliberately sent his wand to Ginny but you have created more questions still. I sympathise with the comma problem. My beta complains about the same thing, though I am pleased to say his work improves mine! SF
Author's Response: I found a great book, Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss that has been extremely helpful with my comma problem, but it's my beta who ultimately has the last say in which commas stay in, get added or are taken out. It also helps that I have several authors on my own beta list who are even worse at commas than I. Anyway, you're spot on about this being an informational chapter. I needed to explain what came before and to set up the next several chapters. It also was an exercise in learning to write the darker characters because people like Snape, Voldemort and the Death Eaters are very hard for me to write. I usually end up making them too nice! I look forward to your next review.

Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
excellent chapter
I'm guessing that the connection between Harry and Ginny is going to help the Order find Harry and Dumbledore
Harry's main strength comes from his wand so thats why he send it to Ginny, so that Voldemort didn't get it - am I right?
Author's Response: You are right on all accounts. Harry sent his wand to Ginny for safe-keeping because he knew she would know the significance of his action. You'll just have to wait until next chapter to see what happens with their connection. Keep reading... you only have six more chapters to find out how Harry and Ginny use their connection and whether or not Harry and Dumbledore survive to see another day... Thanks for reviewing, ~Arnel

Ok, well, now I know what happened on the other end... but still.... ah!!!!
Quite an accomplishment -- Harry sending his wand to Ginny. I find that very interesting and perhaps a hint of similar things/powers to come? ;-)
Author's Response: So now we go forward from here. Unfortunately, the next few chapters aren't going to be very nice for poor Harry nor are they a picnic for Ginny. Stay tuned to find out what happens with their situation and how Harry uses his ability to send things to Ginny. Thanks for your review.

Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
Take your time; much of the pleasure is in the journey, rather than the destination. :-)
So Tom is sufficiently unhappy about failing to have Harry's wand that he subjects Yaxley to the Cruciatus curse, eh? So just how good is Harry at Occlumency now? 'cause if he's not sufficiently good to block or fool Tom, it would seem pretty straightforward for Tom to find out what happened to the wand.
I expect Ginny's going spare, of course.
Well done (as usual). :-)
Author's Response: Wolfs_Scream, you'll just have to wait like all my other readers to see how good Harry is a Occlumency. I think you'll remember that part of Dumbledore's "educational plan" in New Year, New Hope was to have Remus instruct Harry in Occlumency instead of Snape. Harry may not have mastered Occlumency completely, but he's learned enough to definitely help with the situation he and the headmaster currently find themselves in. Oh, you'll also find out in chapter 16 how Ginny is coping with Harry's disappearance. By the way, do you really think Ginny's going spare or do you think she'd be one of the leading forces in the search for Harry? Until next chapter... Arnel

well i hope harry and albus start thinking quick...but then again harry is in need of getting the heck out of there asap...bu t needs to get his head in the game so he can get out while he still can...kutgw
Author's Response: Skiutahnum1, you'll need to wait for future chapters to see whether or not Harry and Dumbledore escape on their own or need to be rescued. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me.

Title: Chapter 15: Darkness...
Great chapter. Scary situation for Harry. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Thanks, Debbie. When I was researching this particular situation as a possibility for the story I found all sorts of frightening things on the internet that fueled my desire to torture poor Harry, but still leave him and his mind intact. More will be forthcoming soon.
