The idea with Kreacher and Mistress Hermione was splendid. It's hilarious to see her connected with a house-elf in this way.
The next surprise was the appearance of the three Slytherins and that Dumbledore has told them the location of Potter crypt. I had suspected that they still have to play a role, but not that Dumbledore has such a high degree of trust in them.
When they removed their dark marks using the basilisk fang, I had almost thought that Harry's scar-horcrux would be destroyed in the same way.
Many thanks for another great chapter!

Author's Response: The part between Hermione and Kreacher just seemed right when I thought of it. Having Kreacher beholden to her will hopefully help her understand both sides of the owner/house-elf situation. I'm glad you like how the Slytherins freed themselves from their Dark Marks. That was another of my theories that snuck into the story and because the only way they could have access to powerful enough magic to poison the Marks was to know where to find it, Dumbledore needed to trust Draco, Blaze and Theo enough to tell them. That was actually easy because the boys were estranged from their families and had sought shelter with the Order. I'm glad you liked the chapter.

This seems to be building towards a full scale battle at Godric's Hollow, rather than at Hogwarts. I was not surprised to find Ginny involved, and her way of getting involved seemed quite in-character. I thought the take on the Slytherins destroying their Dark Marks was good. Not seen that before. The way that the Horcruxes were destroyed was also well-drawn. I particularly enjoyed the Kreacher moments, and the concept of him having been under the power of the locket was a really great idea. . I'm looking forward to reading on, even though it's near midnight!

Author's Response: Thanks for the stars.

Author's Response: Yes! You found all the things I stuffed into this chapter that I'd never seen done in fanfic before! From the get-go, I'd planned the final battle at Godric's Hollow, just to be different than canon. It seemed the logical place for the battle as an end to what was begun in 1981...a closure of sorts for Harry to this chapter of his life. Ginny had to be in it because she's so closely tied to Harry through their bond and their necklaces. If she didn't go, she would have known instinctively every time Harry had accessed her magic in his necklace. I'm glad you liked the destruction of the Dark Marks and the Horcruxes as well as the power of the locket over Kreacher. He tried so hard to destroy it in canon and I think it was a small part of what made him such a negative character in the books. Thanks for reading. You only have a few chapters to go before the tale is complete. Happy reading.

Kreacher was the surprise of this chapter! Never thought he'd been under a spell! I wasn;t surprised at Draco, Theo and Blaise arriving to help (as you said you'd left lots of clues along the way) and I also think the others' reluctance to believe them was unsurprising. I also think Draco was right, that was the only thing they could do that would convince them, especially Harry and Ron.

Looking forward to the action:)

Author's Response: I really enjoyed writing the Kreacher-under-the-locket's-curse portion of this chapter. It's close to canon, but another plausible explanation for why Kreacher was the way Harry and his friends knew him in OotP. There will be more about the spell/curse in a later chapter, sort of a tying-up of a loose end. I'm very glad you paid attention to all the hints I dropped about Draco, Theo and Blaise. I really didn't want their showing up at the crypt to be a total surprise, nor did I want Harry to believe Draco too easily: their past encounters definitely warrented Harry's mistrust. I hope you enjoy the next few chapters.

I really enjoyed this chapter and I think you did give us just enough foreshadowing that Draco, Blaise and Theo's actions were believable if not expected.
I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter and are looking forward to the next one. It amazes me how over the last few years my perception of Draco has changed and manifested itself in my writing. Thank you for letting me know that I have dropped enough hints to foreshadow the events in this chapter.

Hi. I'm not really surprised at them renouncing Voldymould but I'm more of a bit .....uhm.....stunned.
I can honestly say that I'd completely forgotten about these young men.
Basi venom. Nice touch but doesn't the venom affect their system besides destroying the Dark Mark.

Now let's see how you are getting the 4 young men out of the Crypt. *wiggles in chair in excitement*

Author's Response: I had to do something with all those Basilisk teeth the trio collected! As for the venom affecting their systems, I went with the idea that the venom had impregnated the teeth like it had strengthened the sword and that only the dark object would be affected by the poison and not the person. Any venom present in their systems would have leaked out with the black substance that dripped from the wounds. That said, I'm very happy that I made you wiggle with excitement and anticipation. I hope my next chapters don't disappoint. Thanks for reviewing.

Another great chapter... Looking forward to seeing what happens and how the three will help in the battle.

Author's Response: You're right about Ginny and Ron and Hermione helping Harry, but a lot of others help, too. I hope the next chapter won't disappoint. Thanks for reviewing.

Aye, a few surprises -- though it seems that more are on order for the next chapter (at least, for the DEs).

Interesting approach to removing the Dark Mark, there. And Tom noticed, eh? I'll bet that "pleased as Punch" isn't very high on the list of his probable reactions. :-}

Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Actually, "hopping mad" is more likely to be Tom's demeanor at the defection of three people under his control. I'm glad you commented on how the Dark Mark was removed rather on by whom. I thought long and hard about the method and finally decided that canon held the answer and the precedent for getting rid of dark objects. And you're right... there are lots more surprises in the next chapter.

welll that is a surprise now its time to see what will happen...hope they think before they act more...kutgw.

Author's Response: Sometimes in battle you don't have time to do anything but react. I think you'll find that out in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing.

super chapter
I'll admit that I was fairly surprised but it was a good surprise :)

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the chapter and have decided the surprise it contained was a good one. Thanks for reviewing.

I'm not that surprised at Draco. The others, yes, but not Draco. I've always thought Draco as conflicted more than evil. HBP proved my theory and I'm glad that you chose to follow that line of thinking in your story.

Author's Response: It's nice to meet someone who follows my own line of thinking. Draco spent quite a few years intimidating people, just like most insecure bullies in the Muggle world. When things went bad to worst for him he may have reached out to the only other companions available to him, the other Slytherins who acted unselfishly and tried to rescue the other students trapped in various places during the Battle of Hogsmeade. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
