Wow. The angst has returned to the story in a big way.
Harry has really messed up this time with Ginny - it's completely his fault that Ginny's behaving like this. He should've listened to Hermione and stopped pulling away from Ginny. He's being rather too paranoid about his scars and the staring he's recieving. That's nothing new for him, is it so why is he feeling so self-conscious? It's not going to be easy for Harry to make up for this. But I'm sure he'll manage it in the end as Ginny loves him too much and simply can't stay away from him for long.
I greatly enjoy the Harry-Teddy moments and I think it's safe to say that Harry will be most wonderful godfather anyone could ever have.

I've found it incredibly sad that they drifted so much...and that of course is down to brilliant writing.

I definitely am looking forward to some making up!

And we are getting we snippets of their time together in the secret room.

I also found his absolute astonishment that Hermione was curvier very endearing...I love that boy!

Author's Response: Oh I love Harry too! And the fact you called my writing brilliant!

Hey Kezza,

You really made me run the gauntlet of emotions in this chapter, it was bloody brilliant!

Right at the start I was hooked as I really liked the detail in the first paragraph as it not only told you it was cold but made you understand what that meant for the characters. I found it a really effective way of transporting the reader back into the story especially considering the gap between updates for most.

Okay so you have men pegged and so much so you made me laugh riotously with:

“I wrote her a poem,” George confessed to Harry the previous weekend while Harry had been at the Burrow for dinner after visiting Teddy. “It was rubbish.”

“Just talk to her,” Harry shrugged. George looked at him as if he were mad.

I mean who would think the straightforward approach would work, huh? Men are so clueless but at highly entertaining as this proves.

I really liked that Molly using her mother's instinct picked up from Ginny's distress the change in Her and Harry's relationship. You gotta love mum's and their sixth sense.

"Life seemed to be going on, unruffled and smooth but he could feel the undercurrents flowing underneath it all."

From a personal point of view I really understood this line as a few years ago we had a series of tragic, life altering events happen in my family, and I remember that feeling really distinctly. Everything appears normal whether it be the new normal of the old yet nothing is quite right at the you life's core. I really feel you used the characters exceptionally well to demonstrate this so that even someone who may not have experienced the feeling could really understand it.

Gosh Gerald reminds of the old Percy (canon Percy) and he is equally as annoying. Even their names share the same air of stuffiness and formality, lol.

Your like an evil temptress with the Gryffindor mystery you have slowly simmering, every now and then you slip in a tidbit or other making it so I desperately need to know what the room is all about and how it all fits in the story, oh and what the necklace has to do with it or the runes! It's frustrating because as much as i want to know i want to wait because I know it will be much better that way, but anyway.

Brogan is an arse! and that's all I have to say about that.

You had me alternating between tearing up (and actually crying in some places) and laughing-out-loud nearing the end of the chapter.

Harry's conversation with Teddy about Ginny was just so sad i actually cried. My heart broke with the... I thought she loved me too. However, Harry's cluelessness over Hermione's curves was hilarious, its so cute that he has never seen past Ginny in that way, it made the girly girl in me giggle and sigh. I must admit, although others may disagree, but I saw your Molly accepting the new aspect of Harry and Ginny's relationship and for the very reason you stated. I think losing a child like Molly and Arthur changes your everything including your perspective on life, and i find it inevitable for a change in opinion/ attitude for Molly post final battle. So I liked that you worked that into her character and appreciated that you did it so well too. I teared up with the Mother/ Son talk with Harry especially with the line "I always thought you taught me that." /sigh and cry

I am such a sucker for your Harry / Arthur relationship so much so I would go as far as to say its the best I have ever read. There wasn't a big scene in the chapter but the moment between them made me laugh-out-loud and was a particularly a nice ending for the chapter despite the evil cliffie.

Cheers, Ava.

Author's Response: *pats the men in her life* bless them ... :P Hee ... Ger-ald! Sorry am saying it the PFW way in my head now! Hee hee, I haz a mystery! I'm glad you liked the Molly thing. It was a ... talking point!

Hello.

I have been reading this story for a while and thought that I should *finally* leave a review! :)

This was one of the first stories that I started to read when I discovered SIYE and I instantly loved it. It is wonderfully written and is soooo realistic... I personally enjoy stories that I can actually see happening and this one does that PERFECTLY. I love that I can imagine these events taking place and see the characters developing the way that you have them after Deathly Hallows. Did that make sense? I hope so!!

Anywho... you have captured the spirit and essence of Harry and Ginny and their relationship beautifully! And I think that is what draws me to this particular story more than others. I check everyday for updates and if there isn't one I just go back and reread previous chapters. :D

Well, that's enogh of me talking!

Update soon?

Thank you sooooo much for your wonderful story,

Sara :))

Author's Response: Aha! So you are one of the 1500 odd people who read and don't review! :P Seriously it's wonderful to hear how you are enjoying the fic - a lot huh? I'm glad. Wouldn't daily updates on all your fave fics be grand? Oh yes, that utopian dream ... chapter 38 is motoring aong at any rate. Real Life may kick it's butt - but we'll do our best!

Hey Kezz - glad to see you're able to update more regularly. I have to admit, though, this chapter was a bit over-the-top for me. I felt like, given the relationship between Harry and Ginny that you have been setting up for over 30 chapters now, there is no way that either of them would have reacted the way they did. It was kind of angst for the sake of angst, to me, and more awkward than realistic. There is no way that your GInny would ever believe Harry had a thing for Hermione - Ginny needs to smack Harry upside the head (gently, to avoid the scars), if he's really that sensitive about his appearance around her, of all people.

I'm sorry for the somewhat harsh review - I know you'll get the story back on track (well, I might be the only one who thinks its off track right now). I'm just a stickler for characters acting realistically within the world created by the author, and here, well, I just didn't totally believe them. But I did like Harry's talk with Molly - hopefully she gave him a bit of insight into how Ginny is feeling, especially given what the two of them recently shared.

-Mel

Author's Response: But Ginny doesn't think he has a thing for Hermione - she's just feeling vulnerable after they ... y'know ... and then Harry started acting like a tool from where she was sitting and insecurities sneak in when you last expect it. And it's not that he's sensitive about his appearance per se - it's that he didn't want to make Ginny feel guilty if she knew how much damage he'd done for *her* dream. She's preoccupied with the Harpies and he's preoccupied with his Children's Home - they didn't talk and got all assumptioney. I can see why you think it's off track but I also think you've sort of not quite hit the mark of where i think their motivation is - which is totally understandable given the struggle I had writing the thing! I'm not surprised that in some ways it didn't come off, to some people, in the way it was supposed to. So yeah, I can see what you are saying and I can't say you are wrong because you read it how you read it I just think that for me it made sense because of the motivations I built in. They are not actually what you think they are but a little to the left - if that makes sense? And make no apologies for harshness as I don't think it was harsh. I think it was valid criticism of what was a very difficult chapter. I've had harsher criticism of a lot less!

Great chapter! I loved the Harry/Molly talk but she never DID tell him how she knew, did she now? I'm curious about that since I somehow don't think that Ginny would tell her. Anyway, I hope things work out for them in the next chapter! Update soon!

Author's Response: I think she just knew. She's a mother, she knows ... Seriously, it was a combination of the conversations she'd had with Ginny during the summer, seeing them together, the tone of Ginny's letter, overhearing Harry talking to Teddy and as she spoke to Harry. There are a lot of clues and she just figured it out, had a suspicion and said enough to get him to admit it, possibly. I'm glad you liked it next chapter is going well :D .

I am just loving this story! Poor Harry, having no one to talk to but Molly - good thing she's so understanding. Please update again soon!!

Author's Response: I think Harry is about to come out and play! YAYZ! Unfortunately the university want me to do assignmets in this new semester! I mean of all the cheek! :P I'll do what I can to get it to you all in a timely manner!

I am loving this story. I can't wait for the next chapter.

I was thinking that as Harry has said that he is not ready to get engaged or married, would it be feasible for him to give Ginny a promise ring to show her how he feels.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I love how you portray all of the characters.

Author's Response: I have zero experience with promise rings. No one I know has ever received one and I think they are a bit American. Anyway I think Ginny would appreciate more if he talked to her about what was going on in his head. that would show her how he feels better than any old piece of jewellery. So no, he won't be giving her a promise ring but he will do a better job of communication! :P

Ugh...random angst...damn you Kezza!!

I'm afraid this is not my favorite type of chapter. But unfortunately they seem to be necessary to have nice fluffy ones later. SO I'll forgive you...this time...

Btw accepting!Molly was interesting. Usually she does the ostrich thing when it comes to Ginny or we don't see how she thinks H/G relationship is progressing physically. It seems here that Molly is more of a realist than she's usually portrayed. Honestly I think this way is probably more like she would be after having 6 previous children.

Despite the angst, nice chapter Kezza!

Author's Response: Oh well, I think you'll enjoy the next chapter :D I think she'd be more of a realist also - hence the actions of Molly here. I had a strange urge to get Justin in so someone could glance at him, but I think we'll solve things the normal fluffy way :D .

Reviewer: melindaleo Signed Date: 2008.08.17 - 10:22PM Title: Misunderstanding

Aww, poor Harry. I think the part I liked best was Harry's interaction with Teddy and his sympathy over Teddy not having parents while wishing they both did. I wonder if Molly overheard any of that? She was very good with him, but I still feel bad for him going back to face Ginny. Theyr'e really not on equal footing. I wouldn't expect Ginny to be able to do as well in fighting off the Imperius or fending on her own if she suddenly had to do it. In turn, I think she's got more experience with interpersonal relationships and is eons "ahead" of him when it comes to it.

I'm worried that you're sending a lamb into the lion's den, but I can't wait to see what happens.

Author's Response: I think Molly might have overheard some of it. Andromeda certainly knew something was wrong so she called Harry's mum ... hopefully what happens when the lamb goes into the Lion's den will be ... um ... well hopefully we'll all like it! (I already started and scrapped it twice!!!!)

Now that was angsty. I loved it. I particularly enjoyed Molly's mothering Harry and the way he received it. Very sweet.

Author's Response: I love Molly. I also love that you loved the angsty! YAY!

I think that Harry deserves some kind of award. Surely this is his greatest act of being clueless. :P
But anyway, this was a cool chapter, great job on the angst!

Author's Response: He was being pretty clueless ...

See, this is why I read WIPs in chunks...I got to the end of this chapter (37) and was like...Nooooo!! Where's the kiss-and-makeup?? Gaaah.

*can double for Jen2* heeee

I liked the awkwardness that Harry initially had around Molly - and the fact that Molly can look at Harry and know that she's seeing her future son-in-law, and that he will take care of Ginny. Sigh.

Dunno how much grovelling Harry will need to do - Ginny knows that he is a very private person, and that he needed to get his head on straight. Having said that, it will be interesting to watch him convince her that he still wants her - she's as stubborn as all get out!

Write write write!

Author's Response: See now, I didn't think this was all that big of a cliffhanger but it seems y'all are having a difference of opinion about that! Indeed it will be interesting ... and I love how you interpret Molly - that's exactly what it is!
