A bit late for a review, but I must say this was a special little story. Very original. Well done.

Judged for the challenge.

Nice story. One thing I've noticed is that, unlike the other entries, in which it is known to everyone that Harry is using the Elder Wand to rebuild the castle, here it is a secret. In a way, perhaps your idea make more sense -- you'll never know when there's a Jonas lurking around to steal the Elder Wand.

As a former math major, I recognized the Fibonacci spiral straight away. But I never would have figured out the major and minor triads without your explanation in the Author's Notes. I've studied music for years, and yet I've never noticed the resemblance of the treble and bass clefs to the S and C symbols -- almost like (USA) dollars and cents! Of course, we don't except Harry and his British friends to recognize those symbols.

So Jonas tries to kill Harry in other to win the Elder Wand? Wow! With an attempted murderer on board, makes me wonder what was so bad about Ambrose Acrimus, anyway....

The students' idea of a permanent DA room was a great idea! As for Harry's idea, well, at least he and Ginny will enjoy it.... (Oh, and BTW, Ginny becomes of age about three weeks before 1st September.)

Overall, not bad for a first-time writer. I wish you good luck in the challenge!

Author's Response: Thank you for the review. I understand what you're saying about my explanation of the major/minor triads. I was hoping a general explanation would be sufficient, but perhaps it was not. Sorry about that. I've often been told that my writing tends to be a bit "wordy" but I may have chosen the wrong place to skimp on an explanation. It also appears that I should have done more to make Jonas seem like an amiable bloke, making it harder for Harry and Hermione to know his true intentions. Perhaps I spent too much time on the major characters and not enough on the minor ones... a good lesson for the future. What a "constructive" review - thanks again!

Good job! I really liked your version of the double wand spell. I was trying to imagine drawing both clef symbols at the same time, and realized how bad I am at drawing treble by itself! The idea of the absorption charm was cool too. I missed something though. Jonas wasn't there for that conversation, was he? I thought it was just Barney, and McGonagall implied he already knew about it... Just a tad confused. Good story though, good luck!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Sorry about the confusion with Jonas. You're right that Barney knew about it, but Jonas was supposed to have learned about the Elder Wand by eavesdropping outside of the headmistress's office. Perhaps I'll fix it later when I have time.

I'm not sure if you made the deadline...but honestly...who cares? This was a great reconstruction story, complete with someone evil, H/G romance, a toned down Hermione and a completed Hogwarts.

Author's Response: Thank you for the positive review! I've been a little nervous as this is my first submission to the site. Maybe I'll post some of the stuff I wrote that I decided to cut out of this story.
