While it's a bit sad that the Delacours can't adopt Harry as Molly and Arthur have adopted Ginny/Madeline, he seems so much happier than he was when at the Dursleys. It's also nice to know that the Gringotts goblins will keep Harry's secret. As Dumbledore often tells Harry in the books, the fewer who know a secret, the easier it is to keep. Finally, I'm very interested in seeing how you handle Harry's Veela heritage: I'm guessing that it will manifest itself in his ability to fly a broomstick at the very least. Well done.

Author's Response: I figure that the adoption of Harry was just a formality; the Delacours would treat him the same regardless.

Love the interactions between the members of the Delacour family!

Author's Response: Thanks! I like seeing and writing happy families.

Apparently, Dumbledore has always been as clueless as he was later during Harry's Hogwarts years, lol.

I'm just wondering if Ginny is the canon Gabrielle, or if Gabrielle will be a sister of Harry later in the story. We'll see, I suppose.

It's a true surprise that Harry is part Veela, just like Ginny. Bonding Drive? Did I just learned something that Ginny has to go through later on, and maybe Harry, too?

I'd hoped to find the reason why Harry was deleted from the Hogwarts register. It couldn't happen because Harry left England. In this case the register would change every time a child'd go on holidays abroad. Maybe in one of the next chapters...

Author's Response: You're asking good questions, nice to see that you're following along well.

McMerlin's? That's too funny. I'm glad they didn't do the same ritual as the Weasleys did. Hopefully they won't change Harry's appearance much.

Author's Response: I like the idea of a Wizarding fast-food place--it was too funny for me to not put it in.

I'm not impressed with Dumbledore's "monitoring" systems if he doesn't even know he is in France. I wonder when he wil discover this fact? When whatever gadget produce the Hogwarts letters? Mcgonagle would go into conniptions if she knew!

It will be interesting to see how Harry's character evolves as he is know part of a loving family environment.

Author's Response: I've never been very impressed with Dumbledore's precautions for taking care of Harry. He's rather blind to a lot of things, and the idea that someone would take him out of England is just inconceivable. Anyway, thanks for continuing to read and review!

Okay, so I was a bit reluctant about this story at first. It certainly didn't seem like a Harry/Ginny story - more like a Harry/Gabrielle (now, this was before I realized that Gabrielle is a few years younger... ehm... oops). My thoughts then was "what makes a person a person?" Would Ginny be Ginny if she was another child who was only adopted? No... and I got wary of this story. (Perhaps somehow giving a little warning in an a/n at the start could prevent this - I'm guessing I'm not the only one asking...) But then it was her actual adoption and "turning" her into Ginny, and I can agree with that. She's now... well...Ginny-ish enough. :D
I do like how you write the antics of the children - that's very good!
Now please keep the story going and get a new chapter out soon... :) I want to see Harry and Ginny meet! Keep up the good work!

Author's Response: Thanks for your comments--my beta was also convinced it was going to turn out to be a Harry/Gabrielle-as-Ginny story. I'm glad you noticed the timeline. You are the only one who's asked for a warning ahead of time, and I'm not sure I like the idea. I would much rather keep the (slight) suspense that builds as the reader contemplates what will happen to the Ginny in the story. Anyway, I appreciate your review, and hope you continue to follow the story, and definitely let me know of your thoughts. It shouldn't be too many more chapters before we get to see some good H/G-ness.

Hello Robert,

This was such an excellent chapter!
There is still the underlaying sadness from parents loosing a child but also the happiness coming from caring for a little boy that needed them so much. Just goes to show that Albus knew nothing about what was happening to young Harry at the Dursleys as he is so convinced of his silver trinkets.
I loved Minerva's reaction at being called Minnie "I'm not a mouse" :D

The way you describe the Delacours is quite realistic. You depict them as a close family that found joy in Harry's presence and the way you describe Fleur is just as my cousin was at that age. All Magic and fantasy of things to come.
Further more, calling the Goblin Lab Tech 'Bunsen' was great in a historical humoristic way. :)
Nice way to incorperate Gringott into the mix of providing a bit of help. And then letting the Delacours take their children to McMerlins cracked me up and I laughed out loud which can really atract unwanted attention. LOL.

All in all a wonderful chapter that shows a happy family that need each other.
Can't wait to see how the lives of the 2 family's will continue and in what way the old codger by the name of Albus will manage to interfere, if at all. :D

Thank you so much for the enjoyable read.
Until next time, take care. C
