Ugh, UMBRIDGE! Would have loved to carry her off to Azkaban myself! Though, Azkaban is still too good for that toad. I liked how you described Harry getting a first taste of dull police work, but that he realised it had to be done.
Of course I was melting away at the picture of Harry nursing his godson. He'll be a very good father one day. Poor Andromeda. I hope Harry and the Weaslys will become a family to her. Somehow I can't imagine Narcissa reconciling with Andromeda out of pure family love.
I also liked the resistance outside of Hogwarts you described. Seems like all members of the DA are true Gryffindors, even the Hufflepuffs.
Another excellent chapter! I'll treat myself to one chapter a day and hope you'll have published the promised last three chapters before I reach chapter 12.

Thanks for the review. Umbridge is a great villain. Better, in many ways, than Voldemort in my opinion (even if he wasn’t dead). She and Harry can interact.
Narcissa has a sister who’s family were on the winning side. Pure family love or necessity? You decide.
The DA all arrived at the Battle when Neville called them, I’m certain that they joined because they wanted to help.

What should have been a celebration of the death of Voldemort had become a reality of the war's results. The Weasley visit may finally push Harry over the edge, depending on Ginny's reaction.
Nice long chapter with a lot of information.
Author's Response: The Weasley visit will certainly be a turning point. This chapter is the longest and you're right about information, too. Most of the remaining chapters are close to completion and none are over 6000 words.

I enjoyed the start of this one. Harry's nightmares are vivid, and expected, particularly the way he's thrown himself into his work rather than deal with his demons. I think this story might be headed to where he has to deal with them, and I'm looking forward to the ride.
I'm eager to see his visit to the Weasleys. They've always been his rock, and I'm confident they'll, at least, be able to see what he's doing to himself.

Harry thinking really clearly about some things--the need to work with the ministry to identify all known death eaters, etc, and being really stupid in not thinking about other things--not talking to Ginny and the other Weasley's--seems very in character to me. Even as he spends time thinking of Ginny, he never works through to the point where he would just pick up the phone, floo, or whatever to speak to her directly. I don't know how the W's will respond when he does visit them. Its "obvious" that they will be angry--but I'm really not sure if they are going to be angry in your telling of the tale or not. Looking forward to finding out. I'm guessing from your other stories that Ginny eventually forgives Harry for his idiocy in hiidng away and not speaking to her or her family but how she gets there is still up in the air for me.

I look on it as harry trying to avoid grieving by working, or contacting the people who will help him grieve.

Brilliant idea, the DFA, reminiscent of the resistance of WW2. Touching that Harry broke down at the picture of his friends.

Author's Response: :-) Almost half of the DA were not at school because they are either to old or Muggleborn. I simply couldn’t see them sitting on the sidelines.

Oh dear.... but, if Harry and Kingsley go to the Weasleys before Hermione and Ron arrive back from Oz then the Weasleys will know that Harry did not accompany Ron and Hermione!
As for this chapter, it is so touching and so astonishingly brilliant.
