Rather depressing chapter, though I admit it could hardly be anything other than depressing. Hoping for a positive turn of events in the next chapter.

Author's Response: Heheh, there's no quick and easy way out for any of them. While Quirrel-Mort was a formidable opponent, he was also a weakened and cursed one. The diary has been slowly manipulating the kids and gaining in strength for months. The last couple of chapters are an exercise in proving that no matter what tricks the kids pull out of the bag, there is nothing that they can do with brute force, and Riddle is several steps ahead strategically.
If you really want a clue, look in the genres list. But please don't be unhappy because the kids are losing. They're not going to just steamroll everything that comes their way :)

Ah yes, the abundant Christmas season is followed by the Lenten season with a very short chapter.
Apparently the diary is in Ginny's possession again. I had briefly thought that we have reached the end of the diary. But I've forgotten that the term is still far from over.
Obviously Harry is out of action and everything depends on Ginny now. (Can I trust you that this is really obvious? We will see...)
Lets hope that Ginny is strong enough and that the loss of Harry will awaken her.

I'm not quite cold-hearted enough to turn around and say 'game over - bad end', no :) There's more of the diary yet to come. Spoilers...
