Never quiet in the life of harry potter!!

My feelings on Linny are not disappearing!! Is it possible that firstly, Ginny's drinks are being spiked but also that she is under some sort of compulsion spell, as why else would she keep repeating going out with them after each match? And again it's always Linny that answers the phone and says ginny isn't in.

Author's Response: It’s good to see you figuring out some of what’s happening. -N-

I know we all pick up on litle things...mine being an offhand comment Harry made about 'no secrets between him and Ginny,' so is anyone else aware of this? Are they feeding her somehing just to get information about Harry's mission by way of controlling her...silly thing to say since she can't seem to control herself,

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Another review and another theory. What can I say? Except that your ideas are spectacularly wrong in one aspect, and spectacularly right in another! -N-

Another brilliant chapter! I love your extra characters in this story, especially the Fiscal. She's so no-nonsense and forthright and no one would dare cross her without suffering dire consequences. However, to people like Harry whom she respects and treats like a normal officer of the peace, there's a softness to her that makes the right people like and respect her back. I also really like the fact that although Harry really wants to see Ginny before she's interviewed, the Fiscal won't let him near her for both propriety's sake and the legal aspects of the situation.

As for what the papers are saying about Harry and his actions, the reporters' attitudes are laughable as always and are just blowing everything out of proportion.

Speaking of which, the situation with Ron and Hermione would be laughable, too, if it wasn't so serious. I love how Harry handles it and how, after hearing what Neville has to say, he requests another meeting room to hear his side of the story.

I give this chapter two thumbs up for being a very entertaining read.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

This story introduces a lot of new original characters and the Fiscal is one of my favourites. She is, as you say, not afraid to tell Harry what she thinks.

I had a lot of fun with the newspaper reports. There is a tiny grain of truth in every article, but finding it is difficult and I now know why JKR used the technique to introduce red-herrings while also handing out important information.

The next “Trap” chapter is a complete departure as I’ve (foolishly, probably) decided to rewrite it from Neville’s discussion with Harry to be entirely from Neville’s point of view. Consequently “Snakeslayer and Snakes” is a week or more away )-:

This is some multi-leveled story! I can't wait to see how all the pieces fit together. It seems likely, just now, that someone (Linny?) is drugging or imperiusing Ginny.....but to what end? Eagerly awaiting your next chapter!

Author's Response: It's good to see that readers are fitting together the pieces of the jigsaw. Who? Why? The answers are coming. -N-

So the alcoholic pumpkin juice turns those who drink it into belligerent, violent drunks! Who is sneaking it to Ginny; a rival who wants her off the team, the Daily Prophet looking for a story, or the team lawyer sneaking it to her as some type of publicity stunt? Right now, my money is on the lawyer, he seems to show up conveniently. Am I on the right track? I like the story shifting back and forth - two story climaxes for the price of one. Really nice job on developing the story while dropping subtle hints that the reader doesn't know for sure are hints or not.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review

Another reviewer, another theory. What can I say but that you are partially correct, but I’m not saying which part. If it was written in a straight line almost all of the conflict (the werewolf encounter and the arrest of Ginny) takes place in the middle of the story. This way one section starts with action and conflict and the other ends with it.

You're just cruel. Excellent story teller.... but cruel. :p

Author's Response: Thank you. A good cliffhanger keeps readers interested - I hope. -N-

just read this whole thing and so far loveing it. It has takeing a bit to get use to the jumping back and forth but now that I am, I can't wait to read more

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. At least you are getting used to the "jumping back and forth." I wasn’t certain that it would work as a technique, but most people seem to be able to cope with it. -N-

I got a feeling someone is doing something to Ginny.

Thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: Thanks. You are not the only one. -N-

Speaking as a guy, Harry is no friend if he doesn't let Ron know to stop taking Hermione's crap. Ron didn't make her personality so combative and arrogant that a bit of alcohol turned her into a nutjob.

Author's Response: I disagree. Speaking as a guy, Harry is no friend if he doesn't tell Ron that slipping his girl alcohol disguised as something else is unacceptable. -N-

One small detail keeps coming to mind. All the way back in the Introduction, there is a description of the pictures that Harry has on his partition at work. There is a picture of Ginny from Christmas in which she is “rather drunk.” That picture may be completely unrelated to the mystery of Ginny’s current behavior, but something is clearly off in terms of Ginny’s relationship with alcohol. Several times subsequently in H&P, Harry talks about or thinks about the fact that Ginny doesn’t usually drink much. And yet, the Christmas picture suggests a different story. Anyway, Linny is clearly at the center of something shady. Just not clear what yet. Good chapter.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

What an interesting thing for you to pick up on. Of course, a lot of people ger “rather drunk” at Christmas, even if they don’t at any other time of the year.

I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve pushed Linny to the front to quickly. JKR would have had all of the clues pointing to Snape and a few hints towards Quirrell. Something else which proves that I’m not JKR…

Oh no! I cannot believe I have to wait! You are so naughty! What happened next?

Excellent! LOL.

I can only imagine the stress of Harry having to deal with those girls.

Author's Response: Fortunately, Harry is no stranger to stress. But which girls? -N-

The explanation about Ron's behavior was actually pretty good. He's so wound up regarding Hermione that he's over-reacting to everything. Not sure whether Ginny has an excuse. How can she claim to be "confused" yet continue doing the same thing over and over again. Why didn't she go to family dinners? Why did she continue to go out with her roommates? Why didn't anyone question Linny's or Livy's influence? Linny told Ron that she would take care of Ginny and then they're in the news a few more times? Is everyone stupid?

Is Neville's story going to be pertinent 'cause I am anxious for the Harry/Ginny conversation but it seems to be at least three chapters away...

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Now the minor mystery of Ron and Hermione’s behaviour is solved. Ginny’s behaviour will, be resolved satisfactorily (I hope) though not for several more chapters. Neville is working with Ron and Harry and “his” chapter will answer a lot of questions. -N-

Great chapter title--"foolish pride" is on point. And works as a Pride of Lions and the Pride of Lions--both of which are foolish.

Ron and Hermione really are both idiots in this chapter. And now I'm wondering about Neville.

I am still wondering about Lannie's role in all of this--bad influence or darker motives. And I am wondering about the source of the stories in the press--the one about Harry assaulting Ginny as well as the one about his eloping with Lavender.

I look forward to learning more in two chapters. Thanks

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

I try to keep a theme in my chapter titles – in Grave Days they are funereal, in Aurors and Schoolgirls they are "When: usually alliterative …ion." Here they are critters.

Ron and Hermione have a history of being idiots (with each other). Personally I see this as the last gasp of their former insecurities.

Linny’s role will become clear in the next couple of chapters, and Harry will elope with Lavender … just kidding about one of those, (-; but that particularly odd headline has a significant bearing on future events.

Oh this situation is just getting messier and messier. I'm really looking forward to Harry being able to see Ginny again. Poor Ginny - got herself into a real state without Harry around.

Author's Response: The situation (in both sections) is hitting the depths. The Harry/Ginny reunion will be in chapter 12. -N-
