So could ginny be being fed this pumpkin juice, and not only that but the ones with the mystery ingredient? Is it too far fetched to think that the mystery substance is the one that makes her stay with Linny. Could the same thing be happening to her other young team mate?

Author's Response: I'd just like to say that I'm enjoying your speculation. -N-

This is keeping me up, I'm enjoying it so much!

Got the impression from the beginning of the chapter that Neville and Hannah hadn't been together long. First time out in public, her shock at him calling her his girlfriend. Then they just casually drop the L word? Just thought it seemed a bit out of place, but that's just my opinion :)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
After rereading this, you may be right. I'll look to doing a minor rewrite, but it may be some time as I'm currently working on the next chapter.

I will admit that I wasn't that impressed by the Ron and Hermione story before, and I don't know if she would move on and start dating thar quickly (though anger seems to override rationality in Most cases). This chapter has changed my mind though. The idea of an inebriated Hermione has a certain amusement to it! I also love your Luna, and Mr. Snakeslayer himself. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Ron and Hermione argue all the time, but they don't really fall out often. When they do, they tend to be deliberately hurtful towards the other. Hermione was being pestered, Luna is ... Luna. I must write more neville stories. But when? -N-

This chapter was definitely worth the wait. I love any story/chapter featuring Neville and Hannah and was really pleased when you gave your readers the tale through Neville's point of view. I love his shyness towards her, his wanting to keep her all to himself and the fact that she gets him to relax enough after the debacle with Hermione and Ron to go out on the dance floor is an accomplishment in itself. Thanks, too for the Slytherin-connected cliffie. I'm looking forward to learning more of Bletchley's involvement in the pumpkin juice scandle.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.
I’ve turned myself into a Neville/Hannah fan simply by writing this so they are likely to play a larger role in my stories from now on. (-:

I was surprised to see where this went--since I thought this chapter would be another conversation between Neville and Harry--and possible more information about Ginny's situation--which did turn out to be coming much more clear as you show us more informaiton. And I think it was better in this form.

I had to wince at Hermione's drunken transformation.

Neville was great though--I liked how he tried only to go to ministry events when he knew Harry would be swallowing up all the attention.

I am interested in finding out what is his mistake that he needs to tell Harry. Thanks again.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review

Hermione’s drunken transformmation made me wince, too.

Harry has never been happy in the limelight, and I think that Neville would be even worse.

You’ll find out more in the next chapter.

Love the Neville/Hannah addition. Good chapter.

Thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Neville/Hannah was inevitable. I'm glad that you liked it. -N-

Good chapter. I am glad you told this bit this way, rather than just as a conversation between H & N. So what was Neville’s “big mistake” (other than the time that he spent with Romilda)? He actually has been doing solid detective work and seems like he is one of the few people who hasn’t made a noticeable mistake yet. You say we now have “almost” everything that we need to know to explain Ginny’s behavior. Given your talent for planting clues, I am sure you are being sincere, but I am still missing something. Having seen how Hermione behaved after drinking the pumpkin juice, it is clear how Ginny could have behaved this way ONCE. But that still doesn’t explain why she would have been out of control on repeated occasions. I suppose the answer may lie with that mystery ingredient. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

You’ll find out what Neville thinks was his big mistake in a couple of chapters. (Romilda was more of a learning experience (-; )

Neville is, in my opinion, a solid and dependable bloke. He doesn’t have Harry’s flair for improvisation, but he’s serious and professional and will always try to do what’s right. (I will admit that I’ve been a huge Neville fan ever since he stood up to Harry, Ron and Hermione in PS. I think that he’s the nicest and most straightforward of all JKR’s characters.)

You will find out the "why" of Ginny’s behaviour soon.

Very interesting. Poor Hermione, no wonder she was so upset and humilitated. I really can't believe Ron did that, but then again it is Ron. I really liked the development of Neville and Hannah's relationship. I'm guessing that this all helps to explain some of what is going on with Ginny. I do have to say I was a bit disappointed not to hear more about Harry and Ginny in this chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. This chapter tells you almost everything you need to know to explain Ginny's behaviour. You'll need to wait for Chapter 12 (The Trap: Legal Lizard) for the interview between auror Potter and Prisoner, cell five, Weasley. -N-

I cannot deny that I'm a bit disappointed that we're not back with Harry and Ginny in the "prey" (I think) section of the story, which I eagerly anticipated it for weeks. However, this was a good chapter and it was interesting seeing the effect of the Dark Mark Pumpkin Juice first hand. I don't know what to think about what Ron did to Hermione. He did intend to get her tipsy/drunk and had no idea he was giving her dark magic laced high proof liquor. But he still did something wrong and is responsible for the results of his actions, even if unforeseeable. He should have removed her from the ministry function immediately instead of staying and letting her humiliate herself in front of his boss and other people she respects. I'm surprised Ron and Hermione reconcile at all given what happened.

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

After 6000+ words of (mostly) Neville/Hannah (a pairing I’m becoming very fond of) in the next chapter we have that most ideal of pairings, Harry and Lavender (what!), so you will still have a wait for the next Harry/Ginny section.

In Ron’s defence, he tried to remove Hermione, but she didn’t want to go. As for the reconciliation, I know what happened after Harry left them in the meeting room, but (other than this chapter) I’ve restricted myself to Harry’s point of view, so you won’t find out until Harry does.

First, let me say thank you for the wonderful Christmas present--updates on my three current favorites on SIYE. Happy Christmas! Now, to business--a delightful cliffhanger all around. I especially appreciate seeing this chapter from Neville's point of view to follow the investigation; it would be time-consuming just to hear him "report" to Harry. Considering Neville's appearance in Scotland, he certainly escaped from the Slytherin (hmm are all four involved or just Bletchley, and since I don't remember ever being impressed with the intelligence of the Four in cannon-who's doing the potioneering?). It's interesting that there's a special potion in the Leaky's orders. There must be a reason, though I cannot think what. It also may be an unrelated thing to Ginny's situation. The alcohol strengthening could completely explain her situation (though the question of provider still stands . . .). I am looking forward to the explanation of how this extra potion plays in to the "trap" portion of the story, and to learning how things came to such a pass with Ginny. Most importantly, just who is actually setting this Trap and who is the Prey?

Author's Response:

I’ll be honest. The delay in my submitting this chapter was due to the fact that I rewrote it entirely. The plotting remains the same, but in its original form it was very similar to the last “Trap” chapter, simply a long conversation between Harry and Neville.

We know that neither Goyle nor Bulstrode took Potions in their sixth year, so the potions expert(s) must be one (or both) of the others. We really know very little about either of them. I am busily tying up the loose ends and (I hope) all of your questions will have been answered by the final chapter.

Thanks for the review, and Merry Christmas.

This could have very well been brought up earlier but Mark Dark Unlimited? Not very subtle are we? This has been a great story thus far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out and what happens to Ginny. I assume we know that Hannah is fine because this happened before Harry returned and Neville would have mentioned something?

Author's Response: It seems (from what Neville has discovered) that Mark Darque are: Marcus Flint, Miles Bletchley, Millicent Bullstrode and Gregory Goyle. (Not very subtle, are they?) We are rapidly reaching the point where there are more answers than questions. You’ll find out about Hannah soon. -N-
