I always loved this story and I like revisiting it once in a while. Just a quick question. Am I getting old and confused or was there a chapter 24 where everyone attended a Quidditch game and we could see Harry friendship with Hermione getting back on track a little bit? Maybe I am mistaken with another story.

Thanks for all your stories. I enjoyed everyone of them. Just not making too much reviews because my written English is quite bad. Sorry about that. English is not my mother tongue.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I think you are getting this story mixed up with another I didn't have another chapter to the story. You might be thinking of 'Faith' I do show Harry and Hermione getting back on track at a Quidditch match. So glad you are enjoying my stories :)

A big THANK YOU for sharing this brilliant story!
It's a pity that Mione and Ron didn't perform so well .. but that's life.
On the other hand, I'm glad that Tonks and Remus are playing a central role. I really liked that!

I'm really grateful that you changed the three issues I didn't like in JKR's universum.
1) Gin and Harry stuck together til the end. I have the strong suspicion that the Warner Studios forced JKR to ditch Gin because they wanted to have more action than romance in the final movies.
2) Harry will not become an Auror; I hate the stories where Harry is being an Auror and every time he is needed at home he's on duty for the Aurors Office or the Ministry for weeks. That's boring.
3) Neither Gin nor Harry play professional Quidditch. Nothing against Quidditch at all, but the I don't fancy the idea that the both of them will like the media hype belonging to professional sports.

I just noticed that you have written one of my favorite stories (Remember). So I'm leaving now to check out for your other stories ...

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

It's nice that Harry and Hermione are getting along, but that don't mean they are friends

Author's Response: I don't imagine their relationship would be back to where they were, but I think they would get along. Harry doesn't really seem like the type to hold a grudge. Family is important to him so I think he would get along even if he wasn't going to be best friends with them again. Thanks for reading and review the whole story!

Thanks for a very entertaining story - it's had me glued to the screen for the past few evenings. Its surprising what a difference one little twist to the plotline makes. I especially enjoyed the fact that Harry was able to figure things out without any instructions from Hermione, and the way that Harry and Ginny worked as a team. It was also nice to see some, if not quite all, of my favourite characters surviving in your version of events.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed my story. I really enjoyed exploring a slightly smarter and better prepared Harry. Of course I love Harry and Ginny so I'm glad that came through.

I've just completed a third reading of your refreshing and insightful story, and even took some time to read through some of your reviews ... which has prompted this supplemental review! Specifically, I would like to compliment you on your handling of Harry's feelings toward Ron and Hermione. I think you did a splendid job here! Congratulations! While I love JKR's visions of Harry and Hermione, I found it so hard to believe that Harry could be so forgiving at the conclusion of Half-Blood Prince that he wouldn't have said something a bit along the lines of an I-Told-You-So to those who totally ignored or outwardly mocked his concerns about Draco Malfoy and what he was up to. Yes, I understand that Harry James Potter is morally superior to all the rest of us poor slobs, but he hardly gave Hermione a glance when he told everyone what happened surrounding Dumbledore's death. I personally like your explanation best. He doubts his own decisions and behaviors, is hurt, and then picks up the pieces and get back to work. It is only when Hermione's first words to him were formed as a question about whether or not he was sure that Tom Riddle's reign of terror was really over that Harry FINALLY gets well and truly angry! Fantastic! Beautifully done! One final comment ...well, for now ... great job with Ginny throughout. I'm so glad you wrote her as knowing what she wanted with Harry instead of being eternally chaste and perpetually virginal. It's war and not one of them is guaranteed another breath, especially not enemies #1 and #2 of the reigning tyrant! Perfection!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you keep enjoying the story. I worked hard on not making it a bashing story which is so easy to slip into. Instead, I tried to make this a real reaction to Ron and Hermione's actions. They were very hurtful to him both in my story and in cannon as well. It drove me nuts that all through HBP Ron and Hermione dismissing Harry when he was correct and there was really no acknowledgment of that fact. I'm glad you liked my version of Ginny - that is really how I see her - a perfect match for Harry. Thanks again for not only reading, but reviewing the story. It prompted me to reread the story as well - its always nice to have your work appreciated :)

What a fantastic story! I applaud you for having the courage to allow Ron and Hermione to reap consequences earned by treating Harry the way they did through the books, especially Hermione I'm HBP and Ron in GOF and DH! And thanks for giving Ginny credit where it was due. I simply love this, and wish I had done something along this line instead of the things I have written (elsewhere)! Wonderful, courageous, right on target! Thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think that Harry is, at times, overly forgiving of his friends and he really deserves to have friends that treat him well :)

A simple start lead into a very interesting story; nice bit of work, to say the least.
The circumstances that lead to Hermione departing with Ron were simple without contradicting her character, while Harry’s subsequent reaction as he found himself completely alone in the long term for the first time in his life was very well-explored (Handling an immediate crisis on his own for a few minutes isn’t the same as making long-term plans without any back-up).
Subsequent developments as Ron’s forced to recognise the meaning of Harry’s fame for the first time was neatly contrasted by Harry’s decision to take in Sparkle to give himself something to accompany him, to say nothing of Harry’s subsequent attempts to do some independent research while still able to draw on his friends from Hogwarts thanks to such moments as his lucky run-in with Alicia.
While a part of me thinks that Harry should have been a bit less ‘harsh’ on Hermione given that she just left him by accident- he knows about side-along apparation and Hermione DID say that she was willing to stay-, the point about her ‘choosing’ Ron by staying with him after they fled the snatchers makes sense, and it certainly gives Harry a good reason to ‘focus’ on his relationship with Ginny as he was forced to develop on his own and was inspired to turn to the person who’d ‘never really given up on him’.
Hermione’s new relationships in Beaubuxtons raise a few questions about her loyalty to Harry OR Ron- to say nothing of my doubts that it would take Fleur to point out that Molly was making a lot of incorrect assumptions about those articles, even if I recognise that her previous attitude towards Hermione due to Rita’s articles shows that she could treat people that way-, but Harry and Ginny’s developing relationship certainly makes up for that, the two of them enjoying the chance to ‘get away from it all’ even as they’re still aware of the need to pay attention to what’s happening back home.
The final battle could have maybe been drawn out a bit more than it was- give Harry more time to process what he learned from Snape, as an example-, but in general what you had worked well; the epilogue relatively neatly explained how some of the remaining issues were resolved- or left relatively hanging, in the case of the smear campaign that Ginny was subjected to-, and there is a certain drama in having Voldemort get killed in such a muggle manner in the final confrontation.
All in all, it could have been longer at times, but what was there was still highly enjoyable.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review. I have to admit my original idea was simply how to have Hermione leave with Ron without meaning to and exploring the consequences. I know at times I wasn't totally fair to Hermione, but in many ways she is still rather immature as well as Ron. Her intelligence is well established, but she doesn't have the best people skills and she has really never had a romantic relationship so would have some trouble relating to Harry and Ginny. I'm not entirely sold on Ron and Hermione, but I believe it they do get together they would both have to grow up a bit first. Molly Weasley is one of those character that some people write really well, but I have difficulty writing her smoothly. She and Ron share the tendency to act first and think later and she seems to care a bit too much what people think of her and how she's raised her children reflects upon her. I had difficulty with the epilogue, I think I wrote four or five versions before I found one I was happy with so I'm glad it came across well.

Nice rewrite. ) I like that you saved few of my fav characters at the end, especially Fred ). Didn't lake that Trio fell out tho, think you weer a bit too harch here, At the same time, there's endless posibilities, you can even make totally different story if you want to, Your idea of what could have happened led to a very interesting story and I appreciate it ). Can agree with most reviews here, Good job! )

Author's Response: Thanks! I did have a hard time with what to do with the relationship between Ron and Hermione and Harry, I know he probably would have taken them back, but I wanted to explore a different ending.

You've done a nice job of rewriting book 7. I disagreed with a lot of JKR's choices. You've made some choices in your plot that are much more satisfactory. Thanks for writing an interesting story.
