Frightful ending.

Author's Response: The Matron is truly a despicable character. She has a lot more up her sleeve as far as her "volunteers" and "employees" are concerned, as well as her main victim. Thanks for reading.

You have to wonder why these people get involved and why they dont just go to the authorities and tell all.

Ron obviously has a huge weight on his shoulders, he obviously believes that this mission is absolutely essential but the danger surrounding must make him question and worry about every aspect.

Draco has escaped their clutches but there is no way they're going to forget about him. I'm glad Ron is seeing Draco in a different light and is prepared to change his attitude towards him.

Author's Response: The Matron's followers have willingly been Imperiused, so that they obey her blindly. They can't think for themselves while under her influence, so that when she calls they respond like robots and go to her side. My only thought for why people have come to follow the Matron is that she exudes power and those weak enough to desire similar power will gravitate to her. Ron isn't one of those people. He's struggling with his conscience and what his new perception of Draco as an adult is. I think that eventually the two will be civil to each other, although they'll never be best mates. In the meantime, Draco has had quite the scare, hasn't he?

Oooo, creepy. Keep it coming. Thank you for the update.

Author's Response: There are more creepy chapters coming, so I will definitely keep them coming. You're welcome and thank you for the review. Until next Thursday...

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when are we going to find out who the Matron is????

Author's Response: You will need to go back and read the first section of Chapter 13: Meetings. Healer Stilwell identified her in that section, but the characters had become so used to calling her by her job title that they continued to do so even after they knew her name. I also didn't want characters like Tim who don't know her name to suddenly slip up. Thanks for reading. g.

Plenty action in this chapter. Good read.

Author's Response: Action can take many forms. This was just one. It sounds like you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for reading and commenting. Until next Thursday...

Nice to see that Ron is finally starting to rethink his old schoolday prejudices. The Matron is just so utterly evil. Can't blame Ron for being a bit afraid. Tense chapter. Nicely done.

Author's Response: What Ron and the Aurors are planning is something that is worth worrying about, even if it will ultimately (in theory) bring about the Matron's capture. As for Ron and Draco, they may never be friends, but at least Ron is mature enough to realize that what's past is past and it's not worth the energy it takes to hold a grudge. Thanks for reading and commenting. Until next Thursday...

I continue to enjoy the story but I am disappointed in Ron. How can he possibly forgive Malfoy for his actions when Hermione was tortured. He remembers Draco as helping them when all he did was "help" Harry by not identifying him. He didn't help them escape. He didn't prevent Hermione from being tortured. He stood by and watched that happen. He really did nothing for Hermione then or since.

Ron minimizing Draco's actions is pretty unsettling. OK Draco is a victim here and maybe he's redeemed himself slightly but if someone had allowed my wife to be tortured, there is nothing they could ever do that would make me forgive them. Tolerate their continued existence yes but forget or forgive, never.

I realize that's not really politically correct but if you want characters to act like real people, they should.

Still enjoying the story and look forward to reading more

Author's Response: I think we need to agree to disagree again. I get the impression that you want Ron to be someone who carries a grudge against Draco Malfoy because of things that happened twenty-odd years ago. That's fine, but that's not my idea of who Ron has become. I'm of the opinion that grudges take too much energy to keep alive and that if he did, Ron would be no better than the Matron. My Ron isn't like that at all because he isn't a bitter person. He's matured over the years and coming to accept the changes in Draco shows a level of maturity he didn't have when he was a teenager. Another thing, Ron can accept the changes in his old rival, but he still has the right not to like him; accepting and liking someone are two different things and by accepting Draco as an acquaintance, Ron is opening up the lines of communication which just might lead to the capture of the Matron and her cronies. Thank you for reading my story.

Wow! That was a unique chapter! No Harry in it at all :( I was glad you put Draco and Ron in it! They rarely get time in the same place at the same time. I think it is a wise decision for Ron to try to forgive him. I can't wait until next week!

Author's Response: Nope... no Harry in this one, but if there had been something else important to the story would have had to be left out and the story wouldn't have advanced as quickly as I want it to. As for Draco and Ron, it's time they put aside their old rivalry and at least accept the existance of the other so they can work together. There will be more of Ron and Draco in the same room in future chapters. Thanks for reading and writing to me. Until next Thursday...

Nice to see what is going on with Ron and the Aurors. I'm glad he has matured to the point where he would consider that Draco isn't evil incarnate. Tim, I fear, has learned at last the lesson that no one should trust a psychopath. Can't wait to see what she's ordered him to do.

Author's Response: After twenty years, it's time to put school rivalries to rest. Ron's lot in life is now better than Draco's; it would be immature of him to continue the old grudges when Draco clearly has changed and wants no part in them himself. You're right about Tim's lesson, it was a long time coming. The new potion is deadly and Tim may not live long enough to carry out the Matron's orders. Thanks for reviewing so quickly. Until next Thursday...
