Title: 34: Memory
The penseive use was a good idea for how to help Scorpius with his captivity. I like the way you are having your characters need some kind of therapy to handle the horrible experiences they are having. That was always lacking in the books, and Harry especially should have had some kind of therapy over the years.
Author's Response: You hit the nail on the head with your comment about the books. However, it is my understanding of British culture that it's still frowned upon to actually need psychological therapy. That's why it took Ginny so long to seek help for herself. As for Scorpius, I rather thought using the Pensieve would be the best possible way to keep him out of a psychologist's office. Thanks for your comments.

Title: 34: Memory
I'm all smiley thinking that Scorpius likes Rose when she thought he didn't even know she existed:)
At first I didn't agree with Ron's "laughing" as a good approach to recovery. With the therapy I had I was told the worst thing to do was to brush it away and not to "deal" with issues, but I think laughing t yourself is great therapy, and that I approve of!..lol!
Hopefully he will get back to Hogwarts soon...and I hope you are going to tell us the story that Harry said he would tell him later:))
Author's Response: I'm going to have fun writing the Scorpius/Rose relationship in future fics. There will be more about these two in later chapters. I think Ron felt Scorpius needed to laugh at himself so that he could relax enough to finish looking at the memory. Everything I've read said that there are different ways of approaching therapy with children and teens than there are with adults. Ron was just employing one of the many coping mechanisms under the addage, "laughter is the best medicine." I'm glad you understand why I had Ron use laughter to help Scorpius cope. And Scorpius will be going back to Hogwarts after Harry gets the chance to tell him about his first encounter with Dobby.

Title: 34: Memory
I'm glad that Scorpius was able to face some of his memories. I don't understand Asteria and Draco getting upset about his accidental magic - I can't imagine that Lucius Malfoy wouldn't know that the Ministry can't tell who is doing magic in a magical household and I can't imagine him not passing that on to his son. It seems that rule was made for purebloods - they can practice magic and muggleborns can't. I also didn't think accidental magic was punished, just purposeful magic.
Author's Response: I'm sure that Lucius did pass on the fact that the Ministry can't tell who is doing the magic. What Asteria was concerned about was the fact that there were Ministry officials present in the room and that Scorpius was doing the kind of magic he hadn't done (accidental) since he went to Hogwarts. Accidental magic isn't punished by the Ministry, but sometimes worried parents overreact. This was the case with Asteria and because she was upset and concerned, so was Draco, especially since Scorpius' accidental magic had surfaced within the week following his rescue. Most likely, once he's had a chance to face all the memories which are bothering him, the incidences of accidental magic will disappear. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts with me.

Wow, that was intense! I'm sure glad Scorpius is starting to get better!
Author's Response: It sounds as if you liked the chapter. And yes, Scorpius is beginning to heal. It will take some time, but eventually he'll be ready to venture away from home and then back to Hogwarts. Thanks for reading.

It is excellent that you have decided to wind the story up in this way. More than one chapter means more reading pleasure for me. Thank you.
Author's Response: I think it's a good way to end it, too. I'm enjoying writing these last chapters, so I'm very glad you'll be enjoying them, too. Thanks for reading.

What a great chapter. I'm so glad you've let us see so much of Scorpius' recovery. It's great to see how much his parents are supporting him. While the interaction is a bit formal (understandably, considering who they are) it's evident how much they all care for each other as a family. And it was good to see Scorpius facing his fears and that it seems to be helping him start to heal. I imagine it will take a while, but he seems like he really wants to find a way past it.
Also, I loved the parts with Rose and Scorpius receiving her letter. It was funny trying to gauge Ron's reaction to what might be going on with their relationship.
Author's Response: I loved writing the Rose and Scorpius interactions as well as Ron's consternation at discovering that his daughter is attracted to Scorpius and that he wants to write back to her. Even though he's accepted the fact that Draco is a completely different person than the one who attended Hogwarts, Ron is still struggling with the concept of his daughter being attracted to someone of Malfoy extraction! If the relationship does go beyond mere friendship, I think Ron will deal with it more maturely now than he would have in the past.
Having someone to write to, something to anticipate, is vital to Scorpius' recovery as is his need to face his memories and get past what happened to him. I'm currently writing more of his recovery and will post it in a future chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
