Well written description of the trial. I am eager to read more.

Author's Response: Glad you liked it. Thanks for reading.

The most interesting thing I've gotten from the trial so far is the lack of questions from the defence. A good defence lawyer would try and discredit the prosecutions witnesses and try and make them trip up. I guess her lawyer isn't up to much...or is he waiting to pounce!

Good try on having the wheelchairs right in the middle of the courtroom. Hopefully it had already worked, and anyway if anyone hadn't noticed then ginny having to go move them would certainly have done the trick:)

Author's Response: You'll see in the next chapter just what a failure Shirley Gorman's lawyer is. She's dismissed so many defence lawyers that the one she ended up with is the greenest kid on the block; she's scared him so much that he's given up trying to defend her because he wants to get this trial over with. I think the wheelchairs were on the courtroom floor long enough to make their statement...

I was so happy to see this update. I thought you did a nice job with the trial proceedings, and I am looking forward to seeing how it closes.

Author's Response: If all goes well, I'll be updating regularly for the next few weeks. I'm glad you liked the trial. The second half will appear this Thursday. There will be two more chapters after that plus the Epilogue, for a total of forty-one chapters. I look forward to your reviews.

Lucky Ron, bet Hermione does a fair sight more than just ogle him.

Author's Response: Yes, indeed he is lucky! I'll let your imagination take it from here, then. I'm glad you liked the section. Thanks for reading. Next posting will be next Thursday. See you then!

BH, don't make us wait too long! As always, I'm enjoying your work very much. You are so talented and it's great to see a work that is so well thought out.

Author's Response: I just sent the next chapter to my beta, so I'll be posting it on March 15th. I hope that's not too long to wait. I'm glad you're enjoying the story because I'm enjoying writing it. Thanks for reading.

genkus = genius in my last review. Excellent job.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the chapter. See you next week!

LOL. You crack me up. Every bit of this chapter was so serious and sad then suddenly ending with a wife lusting after her husband's body? What a genkus!

Author's Response: One of my pre-betas wasn't so sure about how appropriate the ending to the chapter was, but I told her that after reading all the serious testimony, I needed to give my readers an interluder of sorts and maybe a chuckle or two. I'm glad you agree with my logic. Thanks for telling me. Until next week...

I don't quite understand why Hermione stayed on, but Bill didn't. Very interesting chapter. Looking forward to the next one.

Author's Response: There were originally four people--including Harry--who were very closely involved in the case being presented at this trial. Harry excused himself from the Wizengamot because he is a victim/plaintif, so we know he can't be impartial. Draco holds the Malfoy family seat, but he is the father of one of the victims, so it was felt he couldn't be impartial, either. The same holds for Bill, who holds the Weasley family seat: he, too, has too many family members involved in the case. Hermione was the best of the four to remain on the jury, mostly because the seat she holds is held by her job title and she works in a law-related field. True, she has just as many family members involved in the trial, but it was decided that because she has the greater understanding of Wizarding law, she was the best of the four to stay on the jury. I hope this helps. Thanks for the review. Until next week...

I think I forgot to breath while I was reading that - To be continued… - I certainly hope so!

Author's Response: The second half of the trial will be posted next week. I hope you won't forget to breathe as the Matron takes the stand... she has some very twisted logic... Thanks for reading and reviewing. See you next week...

Fascinating look at the wizarding justice system. Lets hope its better than it was 26 years earlier.

Author's Response: The differences between the American and British systems fascinates me and I really enjoyed researching for this chapter. By the time the trials I'm hoping to have shown that change does take place, even if very slowly, for the better. The next chapter will be posted next week. See you then...

Something about that 'everpresent glass of water' does not bode well...

Author's Response: There's nothing ominous about that glass of water. It's there because the primary witnesses in this case are on the stand a long time. Healer Stilwell, Harry and Ron (we don't get to hear his testimony, unfortunately) have lots to say, so it's natural that they'll need a glass of water. Thanks for reading and speculating. Until next week...

Very intense. Felt like I was reading a scene from Law and Order. That is how good it was. Good attention to some detail and it made me sad to relive all that had happened to the characters I have come to love in this story. To the point and brilliant. Loved it and hoping to read a conclusion soon.

Author's Response: The defense part of the trial will be in the next chapter. There are a total of forty chapters plus an Epilogue, so there are still a few chapters to go. I'm very glad you enjoyed the prosecution side of the trial. I'm working on the defense for next week, look for Chapter 38 next Thursday. It's just as intense, and several of my pre-betas have commented the Matron has a distinctive "Bellitrix" attitude! Thanks for reading and letting me know how you liked the chapter. Until next week...
