I am glad that Nick and Perry told Harry all about the prophecy, as well as their knowledge of Albus's past history.
Author's Response: I really did end up having a soft spot for Nick and Perry. They definitely ended up taking on their own personalities. Perry especially ended up becoming the mother Harry never had.

I'm glad that Harry is at least getting some normal experiences. Dumbledore is incredibly manipulative and sadly you haven't done anything to make him that way. I agree that he goes overboard to offer redemption and he plays way too fast and loose with children's lives - he never should have allowed the stone to be hidden in the school (obviously not in this story, but you know what I mean), the whole Chamber of Secrets, he knew in HBP that Draco was trying to kill him - if he wants to risk his own life fine, but Katie and Ron didn't sign up for that.
Author's Response: Absolutely, he seems very quick to protect those that don’t necessarily deserve it, while being very casual about the safety of everyone else. I mean, surely any right-thinking headmaster would have expelled half of Slytherin house years ago! So Draco’s daddy is on the school board? So what! I’m sure the most powerful wizard of his age can provide evidence of a schoolboy’s misdeeds.

I don't have a problem with Lisa at all. I like how bold she is, and Harry seems to attract that sort of girl :). I would find it odd if he was fifteen and didn't have a girlfriend, not to mention that he has only met Ginny briefly and doesn't really know who she is, so only time will tell.
I like the connection you made between Grindelwald and Hitler. While it was never expressed in the books, I am sure that was JKR's intent and makes sense. The case against Albus is becoming more and more clear, he truly is horrible in this universe, and I always liked him. Thought he was misguided, but liked him.
Author's Response: I was probably being a bit paranoid about Lisa, but I did get a bit of flak for giving Harry an ex-girlfriend back in ‘The List’. I think a quite a few (romantically inclined) readers hate the idea of Harry or Ginny being with anyone else, even if it is an innocent teenage thing. As you quite rightly said, it would be weird if Harry never had a girlfriend and Ginny simply isn’t in the frame yet – not many twelve year old boys experience love at first sight! Grindelwald is another of those background characters that really interests me. I did recently start a story in which he featured prominently, but abandoned it as the plot wasn’t really going anywhere. It keeps nagging at me, however, and I might revisit it after I finish the story I’m currently working on (a post-Hogwarts Harry the Auror story with a few AU twists). I’d really love to flesh out the details of what happened after his split from Dumbledore and how he was involved in WW2. Grindelwald seems a very different type of Dark Lord to Voldemort and one day I might try and explore that. Of course, I’m sure someone will tell me it’s already been done before and give me a list of authors who got there before me. Bah!

Author's Response: Ginny and the chamber will occasional pop into Harry’s thoughts but remember he only met Ginny for a few hours. Plus, he’s got a lot of other things going on at the moment (including having his own girlfriend). It will be a little while before the two meet up again, I’m afraid. But hang in there, it will be worth the wait.

Great informative chapter.
At Lisa's birthday party, you stated that Harry had embraced his magical heritage. Could he really be happy with a muggle as a wife? It would remind him of his time living with the Dursley's.
Dumbledore has a nerve. Fancy wanting Harry to come to Hogwarts when he has already completed his NEWTs. He has definitely something else on his agenda.
Can't wait for the next update.
Author's Response: Harry’s a bit young at this point to be thinking about a wife. You’ll just have to wait and see how long Lisa last’s in the story (but put it this way, he has a lot to do before he gets to Hogwarts). Heading into the Xmas period I expect the up-dates will slow down a bit. Having spent all of October and most of November completely sober I feel compelled to celebrate Yule properly (i.e. legless).

Hmm. Sirius is still in prison, right? That's two extra years so far. How crazy will he be when he finally gets out?
Or will he get out? Another reason for Harry to hate Dumbledore if Sirius dies in an Azkaban cell.
Author's Response: I suppose you could argue that Sirius has been in Azkaban so long what would another couple of years matter? Remember, to Harry at this point Sirius is still a person who betrayed his parents so he won’t care. Another big factor, assuming Sirius gets out of prison, is if he escapes or is released. I always got the impression Sirius got so moody and reckless because he was virtually trapped at Grimmauld Place. If he gets pardoned he would have no such restrictions. Maybe a couple of extra years in Azkaban might be a good exchange for being cleared? Assuming that might happen, of course. I should mention that I have put a few red herrings in the story here and there and we’ve had one already in an earlier chapter.

Sometimes albus really needs to get his head out of the clouds and in to the real meat of the issue....as for Harry and Lisa well I'm glad Ginny is not see it right now but then again Lisa is good for Harry right now....kutgw
Author's Response: I agree Lisa is good for Harry right now but would he ever end up being with a Muggle for long? The fact this is being posted on a Harry/Ginny site suggests not but I do like throwing in the unexpected now and then.

I didn't like Lisa from the moment she appeared in the story - now I downright hate her!! But I am enjoying the story and can't wait until Harry and Ginny meet up again!
Author's Response: What’s poor little Lisa ever done to you? Actually, I knew some people would hate her character as soon as I wrote it, but I do think she’s necessary. Just as the Flamels are teaching Harry the true meaning of family and love, Lisa is teaching him about romantic relationships. Remember Harry’s only fourteen at this point so don’t expect any great passionate love affair but having a strong willed, outgoing girlfriend is definitely going to help him develop as a person.

Good answers chapter though I think I would have preferred to see what the Flamels said to Harry when they made it home. They were a bit pissed I'm sure.
I can see Dumbledore creating problems I'm not sure how but he will. I also can forsee a death much sooner than expected for the Flamels' which would be mean but not unexpected.
Alway compelling where is the next one Huh?

Very suspicious that Dumbledore wants Harry at Hogwarts. The Flamels are right. There is nothing for Harry at Hogwarts. He has already progressed beyond the curriculum. What on earth does Dumbledore imagine him doing? Sitting through his OWL year with others his age? Poor kid.
Author's Response: All will be explained in later chapters but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t all become clear until right at the end of the story. In a rare burst of efficiency and planning I sat down and worked out the whole plot of this thing before I started writing. Of course, I still managed to screw bits of it up but I think I’ve eliminated most of the holes now. Or at least until Ministry Malcontent starts spotting more anyway.

Another good chapter. I'm wondering what exactly is going on that Dumbledore wants Harry in Hogwarts all of a sudden? In canon this would be the summer of Voldemorts return. I'm wondering if he's returned yet in your story? Can't wait to read your next update and see what happens!
