Oh well, the Golden Trio moves to Potter Manor and leaves Ginny behind at the Burrow. I'm curious how long Ginny will accept this situation.
I've missed Ginny in the morning of Harry's birthday. During breakfast she obviously was absent. That was kind of strange.
To my surprise, Harry has handled his inheritance matters at the Ministry. I wouldn't be surprised if the details soon were general knowledge and published in the Daily Prophet.
Obviously Harry enjoys rejecting Ginny. What’s the meaning of the expression "doing the right thing"? Who determines what is right? Harry? Is Harry trying to educate her? Is it that Harry wants to determine when Ginny experiences her first time and not Ginny herself? To show that he is the man in the house? Ginny's wishes don't matter? Harry is very hurtful, and this has nothing to do with noble and will power. I have to admit that I'm a bit puzzled about Harry's behaviour lately. I've the feeling that he isn't honest with Ginny. He can be glad that Ginny is so patient.

Author's Response: As you have no doubt discovered, Ginny's Parent's are not about to let Ginny live at the Manor, but she is able to be there quite a bit. I went back and looked at the chapter and you are quite right about Ginny not being mentioned. I hadn't noticed that before you mentioned it. In my mind she is there the whole time at breakfast seated right next to Harry, she just doesn't say much and thus has no dialogue. Still it is an oversight I suppose that I made no mention of her presence.
Having the inheritance meeting at the Ministry was as much a matter of convenience as it was a test of confidence in the Minister himself. As far as details leaking, that would be unfortunate, but no more likely given the meeting, as when the paperwork is properly filed... Remember however, that the details of matters concerning the Potter family and possessions is still covered by the unique Fedilius Charm cast by the Potters and reinforced by Harry himself later that day.
As far as Harry rejecting Ginny? I am not sure I am understanding your interpretation of events here? I don't think he rejects her at all rather re-affirms his interest in and love for her. The fact that he wishes to wait to physically consummate their relationship is a matter of being absolutely sure that all things are right for both of them. He is not trying to control her, or make decisions for her. Are you saying that if he wishes to wait it must be that he is trying to exert some form of authority over her? I don't get that? Had he succumb to her charms could not the same be said of Ginny? That she was manipulating him to her own ends without regard for his desires? Or is it that there is a double standard at play here regarding the dynamic between men and women?
"Doing the right thing" can have various meanings, you can do what is right for you alone, which may ultimately be selfish, or you can do what is right for a couple, which involves honest discussion, or you can do what is right for a group, which may require debate and discussion on a great scale. There may also be cultural differences in consideration of this idea. I think it requires context as well. In this particular case, I think Harry wants to do the right thing on a larger scale... he wants to be sure, and he doesn't want to potentially hurt or upset anyone. That would include, himself, Ginny, Ginny's parents, the Weasley family, etc. Plus, if her were to die, which he sees as a possibility, would it really be best for Ginny to have had that experience with him, and them loose him forever? I certainly disagree that he is being in anyway hurtful.
Thank you for the comments!

AARRGGHH!! You had left me feeling as if Harry's affection for Ginny was beginning to wane and leaving me only with the elves calling Ginny, "Mistress" as a life raft. Well, that's a lot more than a life raft, especially while afloat in your ever-deepening sea of bonds, but thank you for tossing in a little desire and a massive helping of complete and unadulterated commitment. I am continuing to enjoy your story and find myself eagerly anticipating the next installment. No, that's a whopper of an understatement ... I literally cringed to find out that this is the latest chapter posted. It's really good work, even though I could never conceive of complete redemption for Draco, and I smell it coming. Even with that, I am flagging both you and this story to be among my small number of favorites. Thank you for sharing a really nice story!

Author's Response: Oh my! I think I have a life preserver here somewhere! Well, lacking that I was once a registered lifeguard, so there will be no drowning in my pool! I wouldn't worry too much about Harry's feelings waning any time soon, he messed up once, thinking that forcing a separation might be the safest way to go, but he will not make that mistake again. In fact, if anything he is likely to be overly cautious to make sure that he gets everything right.

If it helps, the next chapter is currently with my Beta's and should be posted, hopefully within a couple of days.

You are right to anticipate a complete transformation of the Draco character. The challenge for myself however is to do it in a way that will actually be believable, please let me know how you are feeling about it along the way.

Thank you so much for reading my story, and most especially for commenting!

I really like how you are portraying Ron and Harry's friendship and the brotherly help Rn has offered him. While I am glad Harry was able to help Winky and Dobby, I feel that he has slighted Jarvy, somehow. As with your other reviewers, I was impressed with Harry's willpower, especially for a 17 year-old who has a very willing girlfriend. With your introduction of The Bonding, I keep expecting Harry and Ginny to be engulfed in a golden light any day now.

Author's Response: As, I have mentioned in responses to reviews. I really like Ron, and sometimes I worry that I am not giving him enough attention in the story. That is why I like to throw in little scenes that get to the heart of their friendship. They are as good as brothers and neither of them doubts it, so they don't need to be connected at the hip anymore. That is also part of the reason I wanted to get Ron and Hermione together, so that Ron has an important focus of his own. As the story continues I hope to explore their relationship more to show just why it works, even though they are very different people from one another.

And, just so you know, that golden glow is coming, be patient. Things worth having, are definitely worth waiting for.

As always, thank you so very much for reading and reviewing!

Great chapter.
Nobel Harry strikes again. I'm sure there would not be many 17 year olds with the same will power these days.
I liked how Harry 'enslaved' Dobby and Winky. I'm not sure I would trust Ron to stay in his own room at the manor. I bet he will be caught in Hermione's room quite a few times.
More please....

Author's Response: Well, if he is going to get it right, he doesn't want to rush into anything. I am glad you like the edition of Dobby and Winky to the Manor...

And, yes I suppose Ron will have to be watched, but maybe Hermione can be the one to worry about all that.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

Ahh, noble Harry.. Such self control:))) i wonder when they will bond, or both of them have to be 17 al least?

Author's Response: Getting it right is important to Harry. And, I never said they "must" both be seventeen to bond. All will be revealed in time.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

Nice beginning to Harry's birthday. I'm glad he was able to help Dobby and Winky - Hermione needs to actually listen to the elves. How is her imposing her will on them better than someone else? I was a little confused about the meeting with the Ministry and the Goblins - it just seemed like there were a lot of people there or something. I guess it was mostly the fact that it was at the Ministry - they seemed to have the least to do with it. Wouldn't a meeting like that take place at the bank or a solicitor's office and the paperwork get filed with the Ministry. It seemed a bit sinister to have the Ministry so involved like they would take advantage or the situation. I'm very impressed with Harry's will power - most 17 year olds wouldn't stop like that. Poor Ginny, i'm sorry , but that can't be good for the ego.

Author's Response: Harry's Birthday was originally intended to take up a single chapter, but there were just too many things I wanted to get accomplished and one chapter wasn't enough. I am glad you see Harry's accepting Dobby and Winky as being for their own benefit. That is how it is intended, but I have gotten some flack on the it from those who wish to champion the concept of House-Elf rights. I agree that Hermione, as well as a many readers need to reexamine the whole issue, especially taking in to consideration of the opinions of the House-Elves themselves.

Having the Inheritance meeting at the Ministry was merely a matter of convenience for Harry. He would not have wanted to have it at the Bank (although that would have been the best alternative). Harry was already going to be at the Ministry and asking to use a conference room was a simple enough gesture of cooperation between Harry and the Minister who are trying to forge a cooperative relationship. I guess I can understand how it might have seemed a bit sinister if one is inclined to view the Ministry with great skepticism.

Ah... Noble Harry and his will power. Well, Harry just wants to get everything right. And I wouldn't worry about Ginny having a bruised ego, she knows he wants her and the fact that he wants everything to be right more than he wants to jump in to bed is a profound revelation for her.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! As always, I enjoy your comments very much!
