Oh, this was interesting. There's nothing better for getting to know each other when you're partners in crime and Harry and Ginny certainly found some mischief while at the Malfoy's party. Draco and Lucius seem as arrogant as their movie renditions portray them. I had to laugh when Draco realized who Ginny's escort was. Served him right.

I have a feeling the witch who recognized Harry at the party has something to do with the murders. She's had two opportunities to introduce herself and has yet to actually do so. We know she expected Harry to show at her flat and seems rather disappointed that he didn't take her up on her offer as well as the fact that she supposedly went to Beauxbatons, but we still have no name. Hmmmm. Fishy, very fishy.

I must say that I'm enjoying this little mystery immensely. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks! I feel like I really missed an interesting direction with the mysterious witch. If you have already read the rest of the story, you will know that she does not appear again, so she has nothing to do with the murders. Initially, she was only written in the first chapter as a tool for setting up Harry's character. But I realized as I was writing this chapter that adding her in would have a nice reaction from Ginny, so I wanted to include her. I should have made her a henchman, someone who was trying to lure Harry in and then kill him in his sleep. Maybe next time.

Merveilleux! Nothing to fault here; plenty to praise!

As you're now nearly finished, you might consider taking a bit of time to think introspectively and retrospectively, even if it means slowing the posting rate a bit (oops -- hope your other fans don't flame me :)

Anyway, the rationale is that once you activate the 'completed' button on your story, you are going to have a bunch of new readers who may not have been hanging on your every word prior to this, but may well think, 'hey, this one is done -- let's take a look!' You will also get devoted readers such as myself who may decided to reread the whole thing top to bottom. So, before you trigger that little stampede of attention, you might thus want to review and revise some earlier text in order to standardize the themes, tweak the early tone so that it sets up later developments, etc. Everyone's writing and outlook changes a little from start to finish, and often we learn things about our own stories that we might not have realized at the outset.

For the sake of legacy, you might also want to think about the self-rating. Based on what I've seen thus far, I think 'Romance' and 'Drama' are bang on. You're fully justified in adding 'Humor'. I suppose chapter 9 will determine whether this is a true 'Action/Adventure', but thus far that's a genre that you've danced the periphery of, but not truly stepped into.

Anyway, I really appreciate what you've shared with us!

Author's Response: Thanks! Incidentally, on the eve of your suggestion, I had a spat of personal issues, which is the actually reason publication of this story was delayed this past week. I have not been able to even do my re-read of the next chapter let alone do anything else with this, which I will probably have to put off for another two chapters and do just before the epilogue. That being said, I hope to publish the next chapter at some time tomorrow. But moving on from there, I appreciate all of your insight into the completion of this. I agree about the "Action/Adventure" tag, and I am going to ask for the advice of all my readers and regular reviewers as to what they think by the time the story is concluded.

Very much enjoying this story, especially now Harry is not the sleazy git he appeared to be in the first chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks! My Harry does but on a bit of a facade toward people he wants to impress, but underneath that all, he really is quite charming.

You do such a great job with the dialogue. I really like the way Harry and Ginny are interacting, they really work well together. Lucius just sounds evil. This story gets more interesting with each chapter. I am looking forward to chapter 9.

I saw your comment about you writing another story and I think that would be wonderful!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you like all the aspects of this story. As for the other one I mentioned - I have a few half formed ideas and absolutely zero time to write it. But I still hope it works out because I really like these versions of the characters and I was very happy with the way this story turned out.
