Wonderful chapter.
Harry's nightmare is very understandable. He has, probably spent the last unknown number of years putting his experiences into some faraway back niche of his mind, and running into Petunia and Dudley brought them out.
Loved Ginny's rainbow treatment. Not to mention, her gentle caresses to help him sleep.
Just awaiting the validation of the next chapter. Hope it's soon...

Interesting technique with the rainbow, is it used in RL?
Author's Response: I'm working a lot on visualisation techniques myself, with not much luck. As soon as I heard about this one, I knew I wanted to use it for the story. Not saying that's what 'cured' him, but helped him put those demons behind him. xx

That was bloody brilliant. You got me on the hook, again. I always like when Ginny and Harry are talking about their past, fears, and the world in general.
Thanks!
Author's Response: That's a bloody brilliant review! Cheers xx

Ahhhhhhh, sigh. That was just .... soothing. Sweet. I can almost spell the oils. That reminds me do you work with essential oils? Or did you research all this just for the story? I have tried peppermint for headaches, but haven't found it helpful, so I may try the Rosemary instead...Sorry for digressing.
Great chapter, as always!
Author's Response: No Prof, I do wish I had gone into massage work, like Ginny, I like to get my hands on naked men, but sadly, no, I chose the glamourous world of retail. I just googled them! Digress away!! Cheers xx

Title: Chapter 11
I hope you know that "real" men don't eat quiche! With that thought in mind, is Harry a "real" man? No matter what the answer to that question is, I'm glad he enjoyed his quiche at the beginning of the chapter because that's what he chose to eat. For those who don't know, I'm referring to the 1982 book "Real Men Don't Eat Quiche." The book spent fifty-five weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List because it ultimately explained to men that it's OK to be yourself in the face of changing gender roles in modern society.
The farther I read into this chapter, the more convinced I became that Harry needed permission to be his own man. While I think he understands why his relatives treated him like they did, the ingrained effects of their abuse seem to make themselves known in his adult psyche. It saddens me that it took a tragedy to make Harry need to come to grips with his past, but in the long run, I think it ultimately did him some good: with Ginny's help, he's faced his demons. "Real Men" says that being emotional makes a man a wimp. Not so. It takes a great deal of courage to face the emotional upheaval that Harry faced in this chapter and come out on the other side at peace with one's past. I just hope that Remus and Sirius don't let their guilt for what happened to Harry eat away at their insides and make them bitter. They all need to talk and I hope that will happen in the next chapter or two.
I also hope that Ginny understands that Harry doesn't trust just anyone with truth about his childhood and that she finally realizes that this trust signifies that he really does love her and that "I love you" isn't an empty phrase with him. Maybe now that he's opened himself to her, she can do the same to him.
Author's Response: There are so many great post war Harry stories that Ive read and enjoyed. The ones where Harry goes on happily with his life, the ones where he struggles, the ones where he takes off to get away from it all. Then i read potterfan2008's story, No more secrets, and I really started to think, from an authors pov, how his life with the Dursleys affect Harry. Can a month with the Weasleys each summer really make up for years of neglect and cruelty, apart from show him what a 'real' family should be like. Especially when it came to Harry becoming a father.
I hope I started to show that Ginny, who had her own issues with her family, realising that they were still alive, except Fred, understands the importance 0f family. Harry does have a strong family unit, which ive really enjoyed writing, especially Andromeda.
There won't be any talk between Remus, Sirius and Harry about what they overheard, but the next chapter will go straight to Ginny's as she realises she needs to take a chance.
Cheers for the thought provoking review. BTW My husband makes a great quiche! xx

So the question is will Ginny admit she's in love with Harry or keeping pushing him away.
