Seriously, it has been a while since any of my stories were reviewed on SIYE, but I still love getting them. And the concept of Ginny's love destroying the Horcrux I got while beta-ing a fabulous story called Finding Ginny, by WrappedInHarry. Anyway, I liked it so there you go. :-)
Thanks for the review, and if you haven't already, please try my other fics. I don't like to send readers away from SIYE (it is the best H/G site in the world), but there are better-edited versions of some of my stories on Archive of Our Own, especially The Hogs Head (Excision is the same on that site and SIYE).

I like to think that the canon story ended this way. After JRK has ditched her so badly, that would at least have been the kind of happy ending that Ginny had deserved. However, JKR has not even granted her a reunion hug at the end.
Hagrid was the icing on a very beautiful story.

Brilliant, as always. I've often wondered what would have happened of she'd stopped him - thank you for your thoughts on the mater. It was, really, the perfect way for Voldemort to die - killed by the greatest love of all - pure passion !!

Very nice! I really like the idea of their love destroying the Horcrux. Hagrid was wonderful - I can see him being upset at having to take a life. Great one shot!

G'day Peter, very enjoyable. Can see Hagrid being upset at having to rip Nagini's head off even if she was going to bite. Be a lot of sick acromantulas around if they dispose of Voldie & Trixie. It's good to see a story by you on this site again. It's been too long since your last story.
You have an interesting premise that Ginny's love for Harry was so strong that it drew the bit of soul out of him, making Voldemort vulnerable to death once Nagini was killed. Also, Hagrid's sympathy for the snake is so like him; I think he lumped her into the category of "interesting creatures" and actually felt sorry for what he did to keep himself safe. In the end, he did Harry and the Wizarding word a great favor by killing the snake.

Author's Response: Thank you Arnel! I have been busy with my "original" fiction, but it is indeed fun and rewarding to post again on a site that holds so many wonderful memories from the past.
In Excision, I wanted to express the idea, missing from canon, especially DH, that Ginny's passion for Harry was the most important love that could help him win.
I had forgotten that phrase of Hagrid's -- interesting creatures -- but it is apt here.

Welcome back MyGinevra. It's always great to read your story. I like the story line, the fact that Fred still gone in your story made me sad. But at least Harry didn't have to die, I like that. I like how You made Ginny so hard headed in this story, sounds like the Ginny I like in any story. Also, did Hagrid really tore Naginis head with his bear hand? WOW!!!! Gotta to give 10!!

The main thing I wanted to express was the idea that the love JKR and Dumbledore always talked about was most powerfully expressed by the passion Ginny had for Harry. I missed that in the books, so ... what the heck, here it is lol. And yes, Hagrid ripped Nagini's head off with his bare hands. Poor girl :-)

I really enjoyed this story and I like how it was Ginny's love that ended Voldemort...I never really bought into the whole Deathly Hallows part, so I think this fits really well.

Yeah, there are lots of things about the ending of DH that were less than satisfying, as was the way Ginny was pretty much written out of the story except for how, at the very end, it turns out she was the last thing Harry thought of before he "died."
