Out of all the wonderful scenes in this story, I still like the scene in the hospital wing the best. It just shows Harry at his most vulnerable; he is looking at Ginny and just pulls her into a hug. Then ends it with a soft, tender kiss. This is just lovely. There is a lot of meaning in this.
This story is also one of the rare ones that I have read that Fred gets buried at Hogwarts, rather than at the Burrow. It is fitting in this story for that to happen.
Author's Response: I've had mixed opinions on my decision for there to be a battle graveyard at Hogwarts. Some people think it's too morbid for a school and in reality I think they're right. But there's always been an image in my head of something similar to the graves at Flanders, reflected in the water of the lake.

Great chapter. I have loved reading this story. It is filled with so much hope and love and innocence. Harry being present and quietly involved and helpful at every funeral makes perfect sense. His immediate involvement with the aurors and trying to find the last of the death eaters is also to be expected. I am frequently surprised by authors having Harry doing odd things right after the battle. Looking forward to the next chapter.

So happy to see this posted! Thank you so much for continuing past the end of DH for us. I really liked the burning of Voldemort's body. I hadn't seen that before and it seemed to right. I'm glad you see Ron as being overprotective, as well. I can't imagine him any other way after watching Harry's "body" brought out of the forest. LOVED both Ginny's line about Harry only coming back, and Harry only promising Ron he'd say goodbye, not that he wouldn't go off alone, lol.
I think you had the mob mentality of the crowd absolutely right! Don't let anyone tell you differently. We've seen things like it in the past, and it's very fitting. You did a wonderful, wonderful job with this tale.

If bulk of the Death Eaters escaped from the Battle of Hogwarts, the aftermath would be far more uglier.
They could mount an effective resistance and Kingsley would have nearly such an easy time.
It has been stated repeatedly that apparation from Hogwarts ground was impossible, with the possible exception of Dumbledore. So at least I expect you respect the canon here.
Since apparation was impossible, the Hogwarts ground was a death trap for the losing side of the battle.
Narcissa's lie had far greater implication than just saving Harry's life, it actually fooled Voldemort and his death eaters into walking into this death trap.
The Battle of Hogwarts can be considered a classic ANNIHILATION battle, where the attacker was mauled by determined defenders in the front and timely reinforcements in the back.

I'm sorry you were so disappointed with this chapter, but what's written is written, and I need there to be Death Eaters for him to hunt down in a future fic, in accordance with what Rowling has stated in interviews. I hope it hasn't clouded your view of the entire story,
Author's Response: Also, on page 596 it mentions Death Eaters "were fleeing or being captured". You're right that probably shouldn't have written them apparating out of the school grounds, but they were far from being wiped out.

I forgot to say in my first review that when Ron Said this to Ginny her response made me laugh! . Ron looked devastated. He turned to Ginny. ‘Aren’t you worried?’ he demanded. ‘He could come back from his first day in a body bag.’

I don't remember anywhere in the book that says 'death eaters were apparating away'.
I only saw excerpts such as 'defenders of Hogwarts and Death Eaters alike were being forced back into the castle', 'their bodies (death eaters) were trampled by the retreating crowd', 'even more people storming up the front steps', 'everywhere Harry looked Death Eaters were folding under sheer weight on numbers', 'swallowed by the oncoming horde'.
You must have confused the final battle with the scenes in the movie.
Author's Response: In mentions in the paragraph you quoted them 'attempting to escape', and I may have interpreted that too heavily, but I certainly wasn't thinking of the movie. It's interesting that you're so passionate about it - on another site I have someone quite angry that I've written the good guys as so vicious.

Just fantastic! I love the way you've brought Harry and Ginny back together so swiftly - I never do get stories where she's angry at him and he's a stubborn prat and it drags on. Anyway, very sweetly done, and I'm going to be very sad to see this story end
Author's Response: Neither do I - it always seems to be conflict for conflict's sake. I always just think imagine thinking you'd lost someone forever, and then getting them back? You'd cling onto them for as long as possible.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! There will be another story focusing on Harry as an order that will go into his relationship with Ginny to an extent, but won't be the sole focus of the fic. I'm not sure it will be Harry/Ginny enough to go on this site, so it may be worth looking me up on fanfiction.net.

Fantastic...I really could imagine this at the end of Deathly Hallows I think your Ginny/Harry first moment alone was the best i have read and really realistic. I have really loved this story! and looked forward to updates, very well written and imagined. Look forward to more stories from you in the future.

I thought every death eater during the last battle was crammed into the Great Hall and destroyed. How come 'most of them escaped'?
I can't believe the good guys are so pathetic.
Author's Response: The book mentions many of them apparating away, and of course Rowling mentioned that the first few years of Auror training were spent tracking down the remaining Death Eaters.
