It always confused in cannon as to why the truth behind Riddle's past was never revealed, especially in the time between Harry's defeat of him as an infant and his resurrection. If the truth behind his past was common knowledge it would have taken a lot of wind out of the pureblood's sails and may have slowed his second rise to power.
Harry and Ginny's magical development is quite amazing. I am sure the death eaters will be in for a surprise the next time they meet Harry.
Author's Response: I had quite a debate on that very subject with a number of people. Some suggested that the hard-core Death Eaters just wouldn't have cared if Voldemort was a half-blood, but more likely, in my opinion, is that no matter what evidence you put forward, they wouldn't have believed it.

You bet! Excellent chapter. I like power Harry and Ginny, not crazy about the sex especially as you have never mentioned contraceptive potion or spell. No babies please.

Author's Response: Yeah, I did. Right at the start of chapter 9 before Harry and Ginny head out to the orchard and kick off that magical storm. Ginny clearly mentions being 'on the potion' which Harry was surprised about. No, no babies in this - it really isn't that kind of story!

Love the way the girls are determined to help Neville find a girlfriend. Ginny developing a safe way to be with Harry was amusing. She knows what she wants. Is Albus keeping an eye on them, or did he just happen to be passing by? Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: I doubt there's much that goes on in Hogwarts that Dumbledore doesn't know about.

It is good to see that McGonagall is finally putting Snape in place. Harry also does a great job in confusing Slytherins. Neville appears to be a bit unlucky. At least he now has some help in getting a girlfriend. And what is up with Dumbledore? Did he just happen to pass by or are Harry and Ginny never going to escape his all-seeing eye?
Author's Response: Let's just say that Dumbledore is beginning to see the benefits of such activities. His reasoning will be explained more in a later chapter.

Author's Response: (ex-) Mrs Brennus was kind enough to text me while I was at work today, informing me she'd just seen the film with her dad and it was amazing. So kind of her, while I was sat at my desk on Christmas Eve! The Dracy-Poo bit was inspired by British 80's cartoon show Count Duckula - the tale of a cowardly, vegetarian, vampire duck. Duckula had a nanny called, err, Nanny who always used to refer to him as Ducky-poo. For some reason, I always associated Draco with Count Duckula. My mind works in strange ways, sometimes...

Great chapter.
I like how Harry wants to keep the Slytherins guessing, by giving back the potion to Slughorn. Who needs that luck when you are as powerful as Harry is going to be??
Harry and Ginny's little interlude was lovely and needed by both of them. No signs of storms...yea.
I think Hannah, in her mind, is regretting getting back with Macmillan. By the look she gave Harry at the end, she has a thing for Neville, already.
Author's Response: Neville's love life will receive some attention in future chapters. I've never really used him much as a character in my stories, strangely, apart from rather negatively in 'Thorny Rose'. I guess I just never really was sold on the whole 'zero to hero' thing he has going on. Still, I'm quite kind to him in this tale, as you will see later.

I really enjoy the pace of your story. I hope you don't rush things.
How will Snape be coming along? Based on his memories, he obviously hated Harry for the following reasons:
1. He would get rave reviews from baby death eaters if he treated Harry & Co poorly, in order to keep good standing with V;
2. He was pissed that Harry would rush into dangerous situations head first, since he felt an obligation to Lily to keep Harry safe;
3. He was disappointed in Harry's abilities (couldn't even answer basic potion questions!) and did not believe he could beat Voldemort;
4. Harry looked too much like James.
Now that Harry is getting increasingly powerful and becoming more calculating and cunning, reasons 2 and 3 should no longer apply. Will this precipitate a change in Snape's behavior toward Harry (in private) or will he remain a bitter man toward the end?
I think Snape already sworn the unbreakable vow to Draco at this point. So if Draco fails, Snape will die.
Author's Response: Your last line there is the most important, and will be expanded upon later in the story. Snape isn't as central to this tale as he has been in some of my others, and the emphasis is more on Harry and Dumbledore's seesawing relationship. Albus still likes to keep his secrets, but this version of Harry won't take kindly to it.

I like how you got around the Half Blood Prince issue. The look on Malfoy's face must have been priceless. Go McGonagall! I'm so glad she was around, Snape would have been threatening to expell him (I still think you should have killed him!). Harry's being really smart in letting the world know the truth about Voldemort, it really might deter some people, but I think it's also his power that attracts people not just his rhetoric. Ginny is so devious - love the way her mind works. Who cares about schoolwork, figure out a way to get laid without calling down a storm.
