Didn't expect Hermione to be such a B*tch! Glad Ginny put her in her place. Guess Slughorn won't get the chance to corrupt anyone else - good thing. Dumbledore is such an idiot at times, I don't get how he thinks he can save Draco. It does seem as though the poison is affecting him more and more.

Author's Response: Hermione was just frightened and upset - she was mortified once she realised what she'd said. That seen was just placed there to demonstrate how close to the edge she is at the moment, and how she might not always be thinking rationally at the moment (ooh, that was nearly a spoiler!).

I'm glad to see Hermione coming to terms with her changes a bit. All of them, really. And I like the fact that Harry can still lead his 5 friends when he needs to, you've made him a really good protagonist in this story again, someone you really feel for.

I can't believe we're already 16 chapters and 128000 words into this story! I read somewhere there were going to be 20 to 15 chapters. Got any inside info you want to share on that? I do feel like we're headed for a finale now, and I'm excited!

Impatiently waiting for shit to break loose now. My Texas Instruments is at hand, though I fear I may need an upgrade for counting the bodies in the coming chapters!

Author's Response: This story runs for 25 chapters and, yes, we are heading for a sort of finale in the next couple of chapters... meaning I have something else planned for the rest of the story. Lets just say that things will be taking an turn soon, and that Harry and the gang will face a challenge from an unexpected quarter. Things are going to get bloody from this point in.

Our three favorite couples did a great job keeping an eye on Draco and thwarting his plans with Madam Rosmerta. I am glad they can easily turn to Tonks for help. Looking forward to reading the next chapter.

Author's Response: Convenient that Tonks was about, eh? If only real life was more like fan fiction...

Well sprinkle me with paprika and call me a deviled egg! The Truman Capote of cute and cunningly concocted contrivances has come forth with more literary craftiness! Ekrisdis? Sounds like the kind of name you come up with while suffering from a hangover! Hard to believe Hermoine lost it like that - but this war gets to everyone one way or another! So poor Slughorn got the mead instead of Ron! Nice touch! I don't think Harry would trust Dumbledore any further than he could spit a hippogriff! Glad to see they nailed Dorko in the act! Looks like Pansy will be looking for a new boyfriend! (BTW, I've just discovered your chapters are alot more fun to read with a double Bols gin & tonic with a twist)! Arnel's plight reminds me of why Mrs A and I don't live in the North or Northeast United States! I'll rough it with the current 70 degree F weather here, thank you very much! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Author's Response: Do you know, I've never had a devilled egg in my life. However, for some reason that I can't fathom (ex) Mrs Brennus has left a giant scotch egg in my fridge. I assume there is some hidden meaning behind it and she's trying to tell me something. Possibly, 'I forgot some of my lunch'. To be fair, I think everything is more fun with a double G&T, not just my story.

Good one! Too bad for old Slughorn, though.

Author's Response: Still, I doubt too many people will be crying for this version of Slughorn.

You could almost feel sorry for Draco. He never wins.

Author's Response: x3. Great way to get my review count up, Dad!

You could almost feel sorry for Draco. He never wins.

Author's Response: Almost... actually, that's a lie. I could never feel sorry for Draco.

Well, I must say it's very logical progression of Draco's attempt on Dumbledore.

Now that Draco will get carted off to Azkaban, I assume Snape, Lucius, Narcissa will also meet their grisly ends?

I have a strong suspicion the end boss would be a demonic being, appearing on the scene after Voldemort's defeat.

Author's Response: The Draco thing will be addressed in the next chapter. Demonic being? Actually, I'm surprised no one has suggested that up to this point, as Hadraniel's involved would make that logical. However, I try to avoid logic wherever possible so, no, no demonic beasts on the horizon.

I've been waiting eagerly for your next update, so I was thrilled to get the notification today! I always thought in the books it was a bit cavalier of Dumbledore to do nothing when Draco's plots almost killed two students, but to do nothing after Malfoy actually murders Slughorn, the old coot really has gone too far. Will he be able to sweep Harry and Ginny's discoveries under the rug, or is the Ferret done for? Murder, attempted murder and use of an Unforgivable. It should guarantee a life time stay in Azkaban.

Author's Response: The Malfoy plotline will continue in the next chapter, but I can confirm I won't be following the book. I agree Dumbledore was far too cavalier in HBP, but then again, what book in the series is he not blasé about the pupils safety? Warning pupils that they would face a painful death if they ventured up to the third floor in the first book was the start of it!
