Why didn't Harry ask about the real name of Wormtail? It would have been the *perfect* opportunity to help clear Sirius' name.
I know why Dumbledore didn't. He doesn't Sirius free, otherwise he would gain custody of Harry rather than Harry going back to abusive Durzkaban where Dumbledore wants him.

It's an amazing beginning. I'm looking forward to read how Harry and Ginny slowly become close friends.

That was...utterly fantastic! I know JKR didn't want to detract from Harry's story, but a scene like that with Ginny would have been much better than Harry's feelings suddenly coming out of the blue, and I think it was a real missed opportunity on her part, so I'm glad you've included it here. :)
I'm particularly curious about Ginny's nightmare with the part about Harry being tied to the headstone. Surely that is indicating that Ginny has a portion of Voldemort in her still, much like Harry, if perhaps Voldy was brewing on his pan for Harry at that particular moment?
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the next chapter! :)
Author's Response: Hahaha thank you! :)
I prefer to see it as a coincidental dream :D Of course, it might be a premonition of things to come :P Wait and see :)
Do read Chapter 4!

Title: Nightmares
The scene between Ginny and Harry in the Common Room was simply brilliant.
In my opinion, this should have happened even a year earlier in canon. When Ron and Harry saved Hermione from the mountain troll, they immediately became best friends forever. When Harry saved Ginny from the Basilisk, they became...nothing. Harry almost ignored her forever.
I'm glad that Harry'd asked Dumbledore if he was allowed to tell Ginny about the events. I think Harry is right, when it comes to Tom Riddle, Ginny has every right to know what happened, just like Harry himself.
Moreover, it seems that you plan to include Neville a bit more. I'd like it.
Many thanks for another brilliant chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you so much :)
I wouldn't say he ignored her forever - and you know that as well :P It was just a lot subtler.
Yeah, Neville will be a part of my plans in the future :) Slow and steady, but definitely.
Do read chapter 4!

Title: Nightmares
Excellent chapter! I really enjoyed the scenes between Harry and Ginny. It seems quite possible that rather than Harry waiting until sixth year to realize he has feelings for Ginny, he may become friendly with her far more quickly. I am concerned about the dream though. Was it actually just a dream or something far more sinister? The conversations between Harry and Dumbledore were well done. Harry is learning so much more vital information earlier in your story.
Author's Response: Haha thank you so much! I was a bit worried about the scenes with Ginny - given the fact that Rowling hasn't fleshed her out that much (at least from Harry's POV), it becomes slightly difficult to gauge how she would behave or react in certain situations. Especially with millions of fans hoping to see Ginny act in a particular way only. It's a bit of a relief that it's come out well (I hope it has) :)
The dream...Well, no, this might just be a dream - or it may be a premonition. He did, after all, hear the mermaid song just earlier that night - hence the song. As for the rest...let's see :)
