Reviews For A Proper Epilogue

Okay, I'm having an adult breverage while I sit on my couch with your story, and when I reached the part where Molly promises never to yell at her kids again and then finds Ron and Hermione and promptly yells, I spit on my Ipod, lol. It was perfect and delightful and so very much both in character and a good mom reaction Well done!

I'm really intrigued by your inclusion of the Malfoys. Lucius seems very much like the Lucius of previous books, and his words are chilling. I wonder if Draco and Narcissa will go along with his plans this time.

Okay, canon question answered as Harry has decided to stay at Hogwarts, as well. I'm wondering how you'll handle a teacher not much older than his students. Looking forward to finding out.

Author's Response: You've made my day! Thank you! I just couldn't resist taking Molly on that ride which most of us who are parents have experienced all too often. The best of intentions can rarely endure all the challenges we end up facing!

Glad you mentioned Andromeda and the Creeveys. Good job.

Author's Response: IôïI'm glad you are enjoying the inclusion of such characters. I am trying to give a look at how everyone ended up where Jo said they did, plus a little more. I hope it will be interesting, in character, and believable.

Intrigued how, in two chapters, you've covered much of the angst-ridden ground that many FF's take an entire novel to address.

That suggests to me that you have a lot more new ground to break, then? A bit of drama perhaps? I'm guessing that the road to the 2017-09-01 canonical epilogue is going to pass over Lucius's dead body?

Author's Response: Do you really want me to address that last speculative comment? How about this? If, and I mean IF, Lucius dies, at whose hand will he fall? Hmmm?

Well, that's the reason Ron isn’t one of my favourite characters. It's not because he doubted Harry's honesty in his fourth year, or because he dropped Harry and Hermione during the Horcrux hunt. People make mistakes, wizards most certainly too. It's the way he always pushed Ginny away from his friends after her horrendous first year, and the way he always interferes into her life, calling it brotherly protection although it is pure jealousy.

Ah yes, the Malfoys. I'm sure Malfoy Jr. won’t not follow his father's path, at least not now. He's such a coward, he'd never do anything that could be risky.

Wow, you've really pulled some surprises out of your sleeve, lol. I agree, after such a war, some decisions are made faster than usual. I really liked the supportive Molly. She acted like a caring mother should act, at least from my point of view, even though I’m only a father. Even if it's long ago, but I also had kids of their age. I was never a fan of the narrow-minded, over-protective Molly, even if it is sometimes fun to read it, lol.

I'm glad that Harry accepted Minerva's offer. It's a new situation for me that I'm actually starting to like an after DH Harry.Even Ron is growing up slowly. It's amazing how the First Time experience can change a boy.

Many thanks for another great chapter. And special thanks for removing those strange special characters. My e-book reader has refused to turn pages because of these characters.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! I'm the father of five wonderful girls, no boys, and while I understand the desire to protect, I have tried to always allow them the freedom to grow up and become independent women. As a result, I found Ron's behavior toward Ginny almost impossible to stomach and I never understood the development of so much love for him. Yes, he's generally loyal and brave, but throughout canon, his treatment of Ginny made me cringe. Truth be told, Harry's overprotectiveness crossed my own personal lines, so I try to show Harry acting out of desperation, thinking only about his own needs and desires when it came to his decision to part from Ginny temporarily! UGH! What is that old saying about writing not being very good if the author feels compelled to explain himself/herself?

Well, I'm glad to see that Harry got them away from the horrible Rita Skeeter so quickly! She would have noticed the engagement ring on Ginny's hand immediately. I like the way you are writing the characters. They are slightly different from their past canonical selves, but the differences are quite reasonable. War changes people, and the horror and loss they have suffered, as well as the fear and uncertainly, should leave a mark on them. Molly's acceptance and understanding, Hermione's need to be with Ron physically, the maturity generally shown by many characters is very well written. Lucius Malfoy is of course a major concern. What are you planning to have that evil man do now? (I don't actually expect an answer!) At least, Narcissa and Draco seem shocked by his words and sinister intentions. By the way, you seem to have a few numbers randomly in the story that you may want to remove. Looking forward to reading more!

Author's Response: Thank you for the lengthy review and, especially, for your understanding of why I see such rapid evolution in the primary characters! And I will try to figure what I did to insert those pesky random numbers!

Author's Response: This probably isn't worth adding, but I see the errant numbers in the posted product, but not in my Word document or in the text when I go in to edit. It's a mystery.

I'm so glad Harry was able to thwart Rita Skeeter this once, but I'm sure she'll catch up to him sooner rather than later. The more I think about it, the more I accept the fact that your Harry and Ginny have become engaged. The reason for this is that the Weasley family needs something happy to offset all the sorrow that has befallen them. While most authors would have Molly react as she initially did with Ron and Hermione, a much calmer and more accepting matriarch is going to pave the way much easier for the rest of the family than would be otherwise. She's also correct that all of her family, not just Arthur, will have to deal with Fred's loss in their own ways. I also think the fact that her daughter will be coming back to Hogwarts to finish her seventh year will be something Molly appreciates.

I look forward to the next chapter. Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! I've never understood why Molly is turned into such a hypocritical nag who suddenly hates and distrusts Harry once she learns that Ginny is involved with him -- especially in stories involving bonds, which are outside the realm of their control. In the immediately past 24 hours, Molly would have lost one of her sons, at least two of her best friends, and killed an insane sociopath who was about to kill her precious daughter! Even if she was inclined to be unreasonable and overprotective I would have to think the previous day's events would have made her realize there could be worse things than seeing her children happily with the ones they love. It's not that I don't like those stories! I do! The tension makes for conflict, which every story must contain. However, I see Molly as someone who would fight alongside her children, not against them. It's just my personal take on things. Anyway, thanks once again!

I've been lurking around this site for a while, but I registered so I could review this story.

I'm really enjoying what you've done so far. I wouldn't expect Ron and Hermione to be quite so casual when Mrs. Weasley found them, but they had all been through a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this. I'm glad he's telling her everything, and I'd love to see Ginny share her time too.

Author's Response: Thank you! I will try not to let you down!
