Have you ever read Jorge Luis Borges?
Your 'house on the island' vignette brought to mind his vibrant prose paintings. Borges was motivated by mathematics and existential philosophy, however his writing is very clean and lucid, and it takes me to mysterious places that I would love to visit. Those places, of course, are places of the mind. Just as is your magnificent house of woods and mist; of half-stairways and oak-floored cul de sacs and tiny-paned windows.
Sorry, but I think that your house on the island is becoming my house on the island. Either way, it is beautiful.
Author's Response: Thank you! I have not yet read anything by Jorge Luis Borges, but I did a quick internet search after reading your review, and he certainly was a fascinating man! I wrote the description of the house on the island after sketching what I remember of my relatives' house, with its six separate little staircases and oddly placed rooms everywhere. I haven't seen the place in years, but it was perfect for my purposes so I went with it, adding the island and forest with dense fog to make it more mysterious!

Anna is slowly becoming the centre of the attention of the male part of the Hogwarts students. Even Harry tries to spend part of his free time with her. I just hope Anna isn't running into problems for spending time alone with Harry, even if she's just teaching him Occlumency. The gossip mill is merciless. Neville won't like it, whereas the two betrothal applicants certainly won't like it.

Good Grief Charlie Brown! Or in this case, Charlie Weasley, who better get a move on courting Anna! Two letters of interest in betrothal

Poor Anna is almost betrothed because of some ancient customs. Poor Ginny is still struggling to be noticed. I don't have the impression that Harry will ask her out anytime soon. At the moment he seems to be closer to Anna.

This was great from start to finish. It's nice to have more Anna around.
