I'm not really sure I can adequately explain the effect your writing has on me without sounding like a groveling, blubbering idiot. But seriously, your fics almost always put a lump in my throat (and I mean that in a good way). They just... I don't know... *move* me. The way you write Ginny, I can really *feel* what she is feeling, more so than with any other fanfic writer. (Gah! See, I'm a groveling, blubbering idiot!)
Anyway, this is one of my favorite chapters so far. The Ginny/Sirius kiss didn't squick me at all -- of course, it probably helps that 17 Minutes is a great favorite of mine. And George was very, very IC.
My favorite part was when Ginny reconciled herself to the fact that F&G will always exploit her vulnerabilities, and the only way she can hold her own is to exploit theirs as well; it is a simple fact of life. Very bittersweet.
*finishes gushing and goes off to read the Ron chapter*

I did read 17 mintues all the way through and still hated it with a passion but I'm not going to give up on this one, I'll go with the odds, I loved the all the chapters before this one so now I shall move on :P

She's baaaack! And about time! Again, quite a brill chapter! I must say, like others, you had me worried with Sirius, but even without reading 17 Minutes, in the end, I was ok with it. I apprecaite the ease with which you address the audience and the trust you've built with us. We know that in the end, you'll never let us down. I was laughing hysterically about the rat story. That is so clever! Both twin pieces are a bit more bittersweet than the others, which I think counteracts their jubilance perfectly. Bravo. (ok, I'm finished)

Wow Laura you never ever fail to shine! I of course think that 17 Minutes to Midnight was a beautiful story that showed the bittersweet sides of Sirius's and Ginny's characters...It's my personal opinion that straight H/G fluff can be very boring and twists are needed, like in 17 Minutes. Needless to say I wasn't disturbed at all but very grateful that someone had the guts to write a more in depth look at Ginny, But back to this chapter. I really love how this chapter was related to the Fred one, but seperated. I like how the Fred one explored Ginny's side of the twins/Ginny relationship, and the George one seemed to focus more on how they felt about it. Of course the twins had to be connected but you made them different people which is wonderful. Yay! Two more chapters to read!!

This chapter wasn't disturbing, whatever the Sirius and Ginny kiss might cause some people. It would have been more disturbing had Sirius initiated it, really, but considering the alcohol, Ginny's age (when toying with accepted standards and parental restrictions is overwhelming at times), Sirius's understanding of her plight and his roguish charm -- especially in light of your earlier story -- this chapter is exceptional (well, it's as good as your other chapters, which in sum are exceptional :) ) -- make Ginny's behaviour more fascinating than disturbing. Keep up the splendid work!

I apologize, I seem to fall into this trap a lot-- I post a chapter, and then get three or four (gentle) reviews that are, needless to say, negative, and then I overcorrect myself, and I make people like you reassure me. Stop apologizing. Your story is what it is and nothing can change it. If they don't like it, they can find another story to read.
I for one loved it. I always thought of George as the softer twin and this proved me right. It's nice to see him vulnerable and also nice to see you tie in my favorite Sirius/Ginny story of yours.

Hurrah, it's an update!
Absolutely wonderful, I commend you. You made the differences between Fred and George apparent, but not obvious. Not many people can do things like that.
I'll admit I'm a bit confused about the Sirius bit, and I'll probably remain so since I don't read R-rated fics, but it didn't seem too awful so, don't worry! I'm still here. (I couldn't give up one of my favorite fics, now could I?)

I rarely review but I am doing so now because this chapter was beyond what I can descrive. I loved it and the part about George and Fred not being attached at the hip brought a smile to my face. I am a identical twin you see and a day doesn't go by when someone asks where my sister is if we are not together. This chapter is so far my favorite.
Author's Response: I can imagine how annoying and invalidating that must feel when people act like you're not a whole person by yourself. I'm really, really glad you liked it. I've been waiting for this next chapter, and I'm so glad it's out! I have to admit that even I felt a little guilty after reading the bit when George made the comment about he and Fred not being attatched at the hip. I fall victim to the trap of always thinking of them as one entity, sort of. But in a way, that's what they are. Nice update.

Finally, an update! I had read "17 Minutes" before and I had actually liked it, so I found this chapter to be awesome. All of your chapters are extremely well written and enjoyable. The Sirius/Ginny kiss is not upsetting at all. I actually enjoyed it. I read "17 Minutes", wonderfully written, and see just a young girl with a man she respects. I eagerly look forward to each chapter. The insight you give to each Weasley brother is fantastic. This is a beautiful story! And I don't see anything wrong with Ginny kissing Sirius. It was very innocent and for me it represented a sort of understanding between a girl who had to grow up too quickly and a man who never had a chance to really grow up. Beautfifully done! short review: This is SUCH a Weasley-appreaciation fic... I LOVE IT. I love jour you just characterize everyone. And although I did read the 17 minutes fic, I did think the whole Ginny/Sirius thing was kinda weird. Written greatly, but weird.
