Can Harry become an Animagus too? Like maybe a Lion and Lioness, or something...(Harry and Ginny). Ron would probably be a...dog, Hermione a Cat like McGonagall. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I really enjoyed this chapter. I'm still so admiring of your characterisation. "Ginny didn't like to be told she couldn't do something. She had the need to prove herself. He suspected it had something to do with being the youngest in a big family." That's very true to canon and sums up Ginny's motivation well. I found the fact that Harry was encouraged by his anger in battle interesting. Sad really, but a clear sign of how the pressure on him and the situation of the war is affecting him. I liked Harry being peeved at still being called a "kid". It would actually drive you crazy, wouldn't it, to be the great shining hope of the world, basically, and have to deal with it all, and still be labelled a child. Snape was particularly brutal. In character, perhaps, but I have to admit I hope he comes through for Harry at the end of the series. "He wished there were some way he could fly Voldemort to death ... flying had always been what he did best." Great line. And who knows? Maybe JKR'll work it into canon, somehow. =) "He'd reached the limit of his patience with his friends; he was tired of being tugged in half." Fair enough. I'm impressed that he'd stood it that long. ""I hate when you're all chipper in the morning, Harry. It's bloody unnatural."" LOL. There are times when I feel such a bond with your Ginny! Loved the H/G-ness at the end. I think ""Yeah, well, I've got buckletloads of this testosterone stuff telling me that I should be the one protecting you."" was probably my favourite line of the whole fic. Great job. And yay for Mistral as a beta. She's fantastic. =)

Author's Response: Thank you! Your review made me squeal with delight. I LOVE when people quote my own lines back at me and tell me which ones they like! I'm a dork, I know, but it thrilled me. Mistral IS a fantastic beta, she's wonderful.

Wow. I loved how Harry told Ginny how much she meant to him. I could feel him willing her to live. As you pointed out (Harry did, actually), he is not usually comfortable expressing his feelings, but if there was ever a time to do so, that was it. I just love their relationship. I do hope that Ginny does not go crazy from all the work she is taking on. As a grad student, I understand the intense pressure of a heavy workload (hence I find solace and escape into the world of fanfiction). Anyway, Harry needs Ginny, so I hope that she will not be having a break down or anything. Although, Harry helping Ginny through an emotional crack-up would be an interesting change of pace... Ron and Hermione...where to begin? All I can say is that I hope they realize what idiots they are being. I am very nervous and hopeful about them dating otehr people. I hope that Ron's jealousy will explode and they will just work it out! I hope that being apart will make them realize how much they need one another. Here's hoping that the reconciliation makes up for the time apart! Wonderful job! Gotta love my Friday fix...

Author's Response: Well, I don't think Hermione would ever consider herself an idiot, and Ron always thinks he's nothing BUT an idiot, lol. They'll get there, don't worry, but they're going to make both you and Harry squirm for a bit more.

Hello there! I'm a long time reader, first time reviewer. I read "Power of Emotion" in the summer of 2004, and let me tell you, I fell in love with it after the first chapter. I was completely obsessed with wanting to know how it would all work out in the end. I would go to bed hoping for a new chapter to read to the read the next day. I enjoyed every word of "Power of Emotio'', I really did. It was brilliant. I've been reading this story since you posted up the first chapter, but never got around to leave you a review. Until today, that is. I read this chapter early today, but I decided that it was finally time to leave you a review for you excellent work. I love your story thus far, keep up the good work! Now onto the review for THIS chapter... It was simply brilliant! There are no other words to describe it. I actually "awwed" at the hospital scene where Harry basically spills his guts for Ginny. It was so sweet and romantic. I could only hope that this happens in the actual books. It was such a cute scene. I also liked the walk/snog fest that happened while those two lovebirds took a walk around the lake. It was simply adorable. I do worry for Ron and Hermione however. I hope they realize how silly they're being soon. Anyway, I think that's wasted enough of your time. ;))) Keep up the great work and I can't wait for next Friday! Oh, and don't be surprised if I start to review a lot from now on! ;)))

Author's Response: I'd be delighted to see more reviews from you; thank you. I must admit, I started reading your post with a grimace. I thought for sure you were going to say how much you liked PoE and how horrible this one was in comparison. I've had another review like that recently and I was cringing, lol. What a pleasant surprise! I'm so happy you're enjoying it. I've had my own doubts about this story lately, but I had these feelings at about the same point in PoE, too. As for Ron and Hermione. They're both very stubborn, so they need a push.

Oh, no far making me cry at work! Harry speaking to Ginnny in the hosptial wing was simply beautiful. It was so powerful. I got stuck in the middle of his speech because my eyes were full of tears and I couldn't see the computer. You've created a lot of questions this chapter and I look forward to trying to figure them out.

Author's Response: Oops, sorry to make you cry. The hospital scene was the only part that came easy in this chapter. I'd done that before we left for Disney, the rest was what gave me so much trouble.

As an outsider, I do not see any difference. I think you are too close to the story that sometimes you think you are doing less than you should.. But, in truth, this chapter is as good as the others and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to finding out exactly what happened to Jaq. Is she good or bad? Was her absence deliberate or forced? Is Snape really on Harry's side or is Harry'[s feelings correct and Snape sold out? Is he a double spy? The reality of relationships. Well tackled. However, I think that at the rate R and H are going, it will take a near death experience for both Hermione and Ron to wake up!

Author's Response: Thanks, I appreciate that! Jacqueline's role originally was much bigger, but I ended up cutting a whole side plot with she and Bill because it became too unwieldy. So, I'm still working out the details on how she weaves into this one now

I can see what you mean about this chapter being hard to write. Nothing big really happens, just a lot of little stuff. But, I did like the chapter. I like reading about the little stuff! It always makes me smile to read about Harry and Ginny walking around the lake or Quidditch practices. Hermione was being completely unreasonable expecting Harry to not even get angry that Snape treats him unfairly. He didn't lose his temper. She should be proud of him for that rather than trying to make him change a basic instinct. I read about a study that showed that even monkeys have an inate sense of fairness. Anyway, Hermione's behavior lately in the story has bordered on hysterical. Ron's not winning any points from me right now either. I don't like being frustrated with them. Maybe Harry should just lock them in a broom cupboard and not let them out until they're snogging again. I did say that I wanted to see some pranks. I think that would qualify! :-) By the way, thank you for letting Ginny wake up right away! The scene in the hospital was really sweet. I wonder... how much did Ginny hear? Hmmm...

Author's Response: Thanks, Shannon. I like reading about the little stuff, too, and sometimes I forget that. We've seen in the past that Hermione DOES get hysterical when she's stressed - you know, the whole part of PoA that the movie SKIPPED! Oh, don't get me started. She can be unreasonable, but she means well. Ron and Hermione at least become aware of what they are doing to Harry next chapter - although their split isn't over yet.

Poor Harry...I have a feeling his support system is going to get stretched to the limit. Ron and Hermione bickering is taking its toll on him and I can't help but wonder if when the time comes for the final battle if their being at odds weakens Harry. While I'm concerned with Ginny's behavior...I love the way you've made her human this story. In PoE she was basically 'perfect' and was everything for Harry. This time around she is starting to show chinks in her perfection...I just hope that when the meltdown comes she'll let Harry help her put herself back together. I'm looking forward to Harry having his little heart to heart with the Percy 'Gas Bag' Weasleby. I'm thinking that an overnight stay in the hospital wing with some broken ribs would begin to even things up. I'm wondering if Jaquelyne's disappearance heralds potential disaster for Harry since you've never indicated whether she knew about the Curse of the Damned. Hmmm....a spy in the Order. I wonder who it could be? I have a few ideas, but nothing concrete...yet. I am very much looking forward to Snape stretching his big nose too far and Harry getting a chance to humiliate the greasy git in front of everyone and pay him back for 7 years of abuse. For transitional chapter that you struggled with the chapter came across very well and moved the story along wonderfully. Look forward to the next chapter...until then Happy writing and Happy Easter.

Author's Response: Thanks, Dennis. Ginny was rather perfect in PoE, but Harry needed her that way. SInce it's his POV, I've consoled myself with the idea that he simply wasn't seeing her flaws. There is definitely a spy...but I'm not saying who! Thanks for the support; this chapter really almost made me say forget it to the whole thing on more than one occasion! But, I survived.

Okay, it was a hard chapter to write. It was still a good transitional chapter with some hints of what will come. You've gotten me eagerly awaiting the confrontation between Ron, Harry and Percy at the next practice session. Additionally, I'm anticipating both the results of Ginny's animagus work with McGonagall and her potential meltdown if she does end up getting in to deep with extra-curricular activities. If she just had to deal with school, I'd think she could handle the workload, it's the other things hanging over her head that make everything harder. That probably also goes for Ron and Hermione and their dealings with each other. The duel between Ron and Harry was great. It's easy to see them complementing each other afterwards. That's how friends are. Snape's reaction was good and allowed you to show Harry's growing maturity while continuing the Ron-Hermione split and letting Harry comment on it. The infirmary scene was touching. Harry got to tell Ginny his feelings while learning what the others go through when he is hurt. It also brought up potential foreshadowing of at least two possible future events. If Ron broke up with Hermione because she explored career prospects without talking to him about it, how will he react when Harry announces he doesn't want to be an auror? So, hard chapter to write; only you can say. Not your favorite chapter; not mine either. Disappointing to your fans; I don't think so. It serves well as a transitional chapter. Thank you for sharing the product of your imagination. cmh

Author's Response: You're right about Ginny, Ron and Hermione being okay if it was just school, but it's not. They've all got some chinks in their armour. Thanks for the boost; it really isn't my favorite, and I've done a bunch of rewrites but finally deciced it was just time to move on. I hope you'll like the next one better.

I loved the theme of the chapter - a nice reminder that Harry's strength comes from his emotions. Not only does it make him a more powerful wizard, but the fact that he needs to feel gives him a free pass to do just that, to examine, respect, and indulge in emotions he might otherwise find bothersome/cumbersome/dangerous. And speaking of emotions he needs, I loved the hospital scene - very touching. Lastly, if what I turned out on a good day was a tenth as good as what you turn out on a bad day, I'd be happy. :)

Author's Response: Aww, thanks. You guys are way too good to me! Harry's power does come from his emotions. Good ones make him stronger, so it makes sense that if there is tension...

Even though the chapter was hard for you I really enjoyed it. I was glad how you had Harry deal with Snape. He kept his mouth shut and dealt with his anger by flying. Great show Harry. I think I see a foreshadowing with Ginny getting overwhelmed with school work. She will probably collapse with exhaustion or maybe she can get a time turner. Great job and I eagerly await another installment. thanks, angie

Author's Response: Thanks, Angie. Yeah, Ginny is taking on more than she can chew a bit, isn't she?

Hmm.. Well I must say that this chapter was not as great as the others. The plot dragged just a bit and the Ron/Hermione fued was getting a bit irritating. But certain parts of it were very nicely writtem. Especially how Harry wakes Ron up. That was proceless.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, anyway! I appreciate it. I agree, it did drag. Like I said, I had a really tough time with this one. I hope you think it picks up afterwards.

I'm lovin it! Superb chapter. I dont know what your talking about! However I would appresheate it enormously (as would a lot of people, me thinks) if you would go ahead and end this little rift between Ron and his 'mione. We all know it's not natural. so how abouts they pull it together hmm?? thanks mucho and UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!! keep up the good work! ~sockless

Author's Response: Ron and Hermione begin to see the light next chapter, at least as far as Harry is concerned. They have a way to go before they can see past each other's faults.
