"How does the liquid come out?"

"Pull the horn," he said gloomily.

The horn moved forward like a beer tap in a pub. Out of the mouth came a shot of foam.

"Not only is it the ugliest unicorn ever, it's rabid," Harry said, shaking his head in dismay.

The unicorn sneezed delicately.

Harry groaned. "And it has allergies."

I laughed really hard at the above...poor Harry! Ron is just so bloody clueless. But Ginny's reaction was gorgeous. She obviously knows it's the thought that counts.

The Hummingbird is a beautiful name for a broom...well done,

Oh, and I loved the teenage lovers at the beginning of the chapter. Very sweet...even the cat with the snake was cute. But I do wish Ginny would stop being defensive about being a girl...and a petite girl to boot. She should revel in her femininity..HArry does. But she can't get out of 'I hate my big brothers mode'.

Author's Response: LOL - I had forgotten about the unicorn head. I'm glad it still seems funny to the readers. Yes, I tried to keep them young here. And yes, part of Ginny's journey is discovering different parts of herself. Thanks for reading!

The unicorn present was hilarious, I was crying and laughing so hard. A brilliant thing to put in, so funny!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. It seemed like a Ron thing to buy - and poor Harry just trying to make things nice for his girl. Thanks for reading!

Well Saint, another wonderful chapter to another of the most excellent stories. Loved the "Bed" scene and thank you for bringing in the cat when you did, they are way too young - feelings yes (oh-yes!) but deeds? Later dear Gin-gin - much later. I was over at JK's site today as I heard that she has updated from waiting for book six to waiting for book seven and I saw that she has dispelled the Luna/Neville ship and talks about H/Hr & R/HR shippers but not H/G folks ... kind of telling us that you are spot-on with this story (in a back-handed way) I'm glad I read some of the reviews as I did not pick-up on the rose at the bedside thing, Harry really is a sentimental gentleman farmer now isn't he? It's these little things that give your stories such depth and life, you truly are my favorite. Thank you!

Author's Response: Didn't you know the new H/G motto? "We're not scary, we're right." I made that up when I saw her update! I was happy to see her thinking in selecting wand wood etc . . . It is how I thought she approached things, and it was great to have that confirmed. I'm glad you like GentlemanFarmer!Harry and the rose - I didn't want to make a big deal of it - but it made me happy to stick that in line in there. Next chapter should be up in a day or two!

This is a lovely story. I can't wait to see what happens next! I like your originality. A key in stories like this. Its sweet and really fresh. Keep up the superb job!

Author's Response: Yes, nothing like bug spray to be original! I actually wanted to play up the properties of rue (which is Ginny's wand wood) and that's how bug spray came about!

ROTFL. I loved the gift. Poor Harry. Great Chapter,

Author's Response: More to come about Harry and that gift. He takes things hard sometimes.

Good to see that you kept to canon as far as Ron's gift taste goes. Well Ginny seems to have a great attitude ( and a good sense of humor) and realize that in this case 'It's the thought that matters'. Great job and again, eagerly awaiting for more. Angie

Author's Response: Next to Ginny, Ron is my favorite Weasley. It was fun to include him in the story.

That unicorn gift is too funny, LOL! I like how you included the word "unusual", It means Ginny doesn't like the gift *snort* Harry was so sweet especially when he kissed Ginny's elbow. As for the rescuing Ginny in the Chamber, I don't think Harry will be able to put words on what he felt at that time considering it's probably the "worst day of his lfe", which I think said it all. Great chapter, btw :)

Author's Response: If Harry ever does say more about the Chamber, I think it will have to be JKR who writes them. I do have Harry talk about it a bit more - but I have Harry voice similar sentiments - it's Ginny interpretation that is new.

The story is getting fluffier and sweeter, just the way I like it, hehe. Bug spray? Oh Ron! =P Nice way of keeping the other blokes away eh? Nice present from Aunt Martha too. I'm wondering, why did Harry put a dried rose in his room (and the scene in his bedroom had me savouring every word)? Nice nice chapter!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the bed scene - that's the first one - two more to go to balance out the three "bed scenes" at the beginning. You are an attentive reader! You're the only one who has mentioned the rose. It's the one Ginny had in her hand when Harry remarks that she looked like a car advert. It's no big deal, but I stuck it in there to show Harry's sentimental side.

Aaaw! That's so sweet of her aunt...And Harry, with the unicorn bug-spray...Somehow it fit perfectly :D

Author's Response: No- you wouldn't think the bug spray thing would work - but somehow . . . And yes, the cow got lots of attention from other readers!

Reading your other reviews just now reminds me of something else that crossed my mind when I was reading this chapter... When I read that the snake was alive I couldn't help wondering (briefly) if there would be any reason for one of them to speak to it... I don't think Ginny has really had a chance to come to terms with being a parselmouth yet... she hasn't had a reason to deal with it since that first night... Mind you, I don't honestly believe this was the place for it, but the thought did come to mind, so I thought I'd mention it now.

Author's Response: Oh I'm glad that crossed your mind. I stuck it in there to remind everyone of Ginny's troubles from chapter one (but not totally spoil the mood). It is so helpful to know what thoughts came up for the reader at the time. It will be interesting to see if this was enough foreshadowing for the events later on in the story.

Hey well if that was part one, i can't wait for part two. It was another graet chapter. was the liquid shampoo or perfume? (feels a little stupid) anyway, please update soon. bella

Author's Response: It was bug spray - I imagined Ron is an sporting/camping goods store and this being on sale at the end of the season. (why would Ron want darken the doors of a girly shop?)

Very Fuuny, I love it. I think if you want to take a break you deserve it, but just don't leave us hanging too long, you're too good of a writer. Great Work

Author's Response: No- I'll keep writing, I just don't if I'll have the time as we get closer to the holidays. I'm still hoping to finish this by the new year.

If that was part one, I can't wait to see what part two brings! There were too many good parts in this chapter to possibly name them all. I love the subtly that you incorportate in your romantic/serious scenes. They are in no way over-the-top... just right. Not too mushy, not too fluffy, not too contrite or forced. The small details (like the snake in the cat's mouth or the strange cow) seem insignificant but make me wonder what their purpose is in the whole sceme of things. I like how you have made Aunt Martha very cool, but still a responsible old bird. She is not stupid or blind, and keeps such a good eye on this young couple that it's endearing. And very natural. After all... up till this chapter Ginny was only fourteen and way too young for much beyond the innocent Patronus Kiss. The bedroom scene was very well done. Some authors (myself included) would be tempted to take them further, but you wisely held them back and made this scene sweet and innocent, while maintaining the integrity of the characters. Brilliant writing. Now... on to part two!

Author's Response: Thank you for commenting on the bedroom scene - there were three "bed tests" at the beginning and there will be three beds to round it out. That scene was a difficult one to write. Dialogue comes easier to me than action - and I wanted that scene to be quiet - and like you said ,it could have easily gone farther but they aren't quite ready for that. Enter cat!

harrys gift was adorable hahah, ooh and yay for ginny getting a broom. you are sooo amazingly good and..agh i dont know what to call it..but i mean the scene where Ginny is worried about Harry thinking saving her as an adventure and what not..that whole talk section. your soo good and writing those underlying feeling type scenes. even so i was still impressed with this one. cant wait for the next chapter, im seriously loving the speedy updates. good luck!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it - I had a few false starts with the knot garden - this is the best attempt.

Awesome... she was so gracious. And she got a Hummingbird! Wahoo! What a wonderful birthday. The interaction between Harry and Ginny is perfect. (I love that they dress for dinner.)

Author's Response: The hummingbird was a nod to all the H/Grs who found Ginny's interest in the bell jar to be significant. (Which it is)

So sweet! I love the way the cat interupted them,,, I know what Ginny means about the unicorn head. I have a kitten that's so ugly he'd the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Author's Response: It's funny how things like that can be lovable.
