"Bugger this!" yelled Harry as he dived behind a boulder, with countless hexes flying overhead or chipping away at the boulder.

"You really should try fighting back!" yelled Aldric as he continued his steady barrage of spells in Harry's direction. "The Dark Lord may toy with you but I wont’!"

Aldric turned to a tree that was near the boulder that Harry had just dove behind and animated it to come to life. The tree uprooted itself from the ground and began its slow, lumbering march towards Harry. It resembled the Weeping Willow but with much more speed.

'Bloody hell' thought Harry as he dived again and rolled out of the way of a swinging branch. He stood quickly on his feet, cast a quick shield to protect himself from Aldric's rain of spells and raised his left hand quickly and silently called forth Fire. "Attack the tree! Burn it to ash!" commanded Harry as sizzling noises were heard as Aldrics spells hit Harry's shield.

The Fire spirit flew directly at the tree and drilled a hole through its trunk. Slowly, smoke began to emit from the tree as it continued to labor towards Harry. Harry raised his wand and yelled, "Impedimenta!" forcing the tree to stumble on its tree trunks as it struggled in following him. More and more smoke began to emit from the moving tree.

'Good. The Fire spirit is burning it from the inside out. Now I can focus on Aldric,' thought Harry as he sprinted away from the slow moving advance of Aldric who had a small smile playing at his lips.

"You know Mr. Potter, you really have improved a lot since you’ve been brought here but you must do better. I believe it time I ended this," Aldric said calmly as he watched the transfigured tree he created explode in flames with the Fire Spirit fly off towards Harry. Aldric threw both arms up in the air and made circular movements creating lighting above his head and eventually threw his hands in the general direction of where Harry ran off to. The sound of a muffled scream and flares being shot up in the air let Aldric knew that the lighting was true to its mark.

Aldric walked over to a hunched over figured of Harry holding his right ankle and left shoulder which were bleeding quite profusely. "No need to shoot me such dirty looks Mr. Potter," said Aldric as he silently waved his wand causing both wounds close up and heal, leaving behind blood to dry.

"This is frustrating," grumbled Harry, picking himself off the ground. "I'm not getting better. You’ve beaten me each time."

"Don’t be so hard on yourself," Nicholas Flamel "You've grown leaps and bounds. More so than I would have thought possible for the amount of time we’ve spent. Dumbledore was correct in believing you had the power to vanquish the Dark Lord. Only a little more training with Aldric here and more practice on your elementals, I believe, will surely take you to the next level."

"I've been here for a year! I still haven't mastered my elementals and you yourself have said I must push myself harder. What am I doing wrong?" asked Harry as he rubbed his left shoulder, still stinging from the lighting.

Both Aldric and Flamel looked at each and smiled. "I believe it is time we tried a different approach. We will try it tomorrow," promised Flamel. "Until then however, go get your rest. You will need it. Tomorrow's exercise will push you beyond anything you’ve ever down before. You will need both your physical and mental batteries fully charged up. Until then, have a good day Mr. Potter." And with that, both wizards disappeared leaving Harry to walk back to the castle which they were currently staying at.

Harry turned to the castle and began his slow walk back rubbing his wounds and thinking about how he could improve.

This is how it has been for the past year. 'Was it a year?' thought Harry shaking his head. He barely knew anymore. They weren't exactly on earth but some sort of dimension that Flamel had used to hide from Voldemort. The way Flamel had explained it, time flowed and moved much differently here. According to Flamel, that a few hours can pass in this dimension but 100 years could have passed on earth but the opposite could be true as well were a few seconds on earth can pass but it would be a year in this dimension.

Thankfully Flamel controlled the flow of time in this dimension and although he didn’t tell Harry how much time had truly passed on earth, it felt like more than a year had passed in this dimension. Harry's body however, was not immune to the passing of time or it might not have been something that fell under Flamel's ability. Harry's body had grown another inch and he filled out his usually skinner frame. His facial hair had grown in more now, giving him a five o'clock shadow, and his hair had grown out much more. The length of it allowed Harry to put it in a pony tail if he wanted to.

Ever since they've arrived, Aldric and Nicholas Flamel were taking turns training him. While Aldric was more of the tutor in regards to physical training such as dueling, Flamel focused on occulmency and legimens training. Nicholas also taught Harry how to use his elementals but that aspect of his training was moving about much slower than anticipated. Both Aldric and Flamel taught Harry an assortment of new spells he could use, some of which were dark spells and magic. According to Aldric, Voldemort or the Death Easters would not hesitate to use such spells and neither should Harry. It was a war and it was time for them to start acting like it. He also had began casting all his spells silently and even began using wandless magic. It was still extremely hard to do, and he was only comfortable using first-year spells without a wand, but he was practicing. It was becoming useful in his sparring matches with Aldric when he could throw up a quick weak shield just to buy him a little extra time.

Training with Flamel also included using the orb to funnel and strengthen his magic, refining it while also looking through the old spells in the book that Snape had given his aunt. Most of the spells in the book were new to even Nicholas Flamel, which was saying something considering Nicholas's age. They spent countless hours going over spells and perfecting them. There was a spell dark spell which possessed the same concept of apparition but instead of making the person you were fighting with disappear and appear somewhere else, the persons internal organs would disappear and the victim would die a slow and excruciating death. There was another spell which collapsed the victims lungs and make them harden. The victim would feel like he was drowning but instead of their lungs being filled with water, their lungs would not be filled with any air at all.

Harry hated learned these spells. There were countless more dark and evil spells and although he learned them, with the end goal of destroying the Dark Lord, he couldn’t help but feel that he was becoming tinged by all the darkness. He had talked to Nicholas about it, but he had assured Harry that he should not worry and that the difference between him and the Death Easters was the simple fact that Harry hated learning or even performing these spells while they relished in causing others pain.

Harry had eventually returned to the castle and walked into a room with Flamel and Aldric sitting around a fireplace and talking.

“Nice of you to finally join us,” said Aldric as he threw his head in the direction of Harry, with a sly smirk on his face.

“He’s had a long day Aldric, please give him a break. If you continue going at him the way you do, Harry might not even need to worry about dying at the hands of Riddle and might just die because of you!” stated Flamel, as he stared intently into the fire.

“Tomorrow will be challenging though Harry and I do hope you’re ready,” said Flamel as he turned to him. “In that book of the old mages that you’ve brought me, there was spell that I found that may be very beneficial to you. There is however a small caveat.” Flamel said, as he shot Harry a look, pinning him in place that reminded him eerily of Professor Dumbledore. “It may make you insane.

“Well…what’s it do?” asked Harry, looking at Flamel intently. “If it will help me defeat Voldermort, I need to do whatever is necessary.”

Aldric looked at Nicholas as he nodded sagely before opening his mouth to speak. “This spell will strip you of all your senses…first one by one will go, until you’re left with nothing. No sight, smell, hearing, taste, or touching. You will stay that way for up to a week, until slowly your senses return to you. However, most don’t survive three days, let alone a week, and their minds cannot handle the complete sensory deprivation, causing them to go insane. If however you do survive the three days though, your magic become enhanced and refined by tenfold. You’re senses take on a heightened state and you’re able to do things you’ve never thought possible. The last person to go through the spell was Merlin himself. There was a rumor that one of the Pharaohs had went through with the spell as well, but there is not solid proof of that. ” Stated Flamel. “I neither say this to scare you or encourage you. I am merely laying out the necessary facts for you to make an educated choice. The decision is wholly yours, but I do believe this may be what you need to take you over to that next level.”

Harry stared open mouth looking between Aldric and Nicholas. ‘A full week without any senses…nothing at all…shut off from the world,’ thought Harry to himself. “And this, in your opinion will help me defeat Tom?” asked Harry of Flamel.

“Absolutely. No doubt in my mind.” Nodded sagely the old alchemist.

Harry took a deep breath, steeled himself, and nodded his head at both of the wizards. “Then I will see you tomorrow and I will be ready.”

And with that, Harry turned on his heel and went to his room to prepare himself mentally for the next week of his life.

As his body slowly retreated into the darkness, Aldrich turned to face Flamel, with his forehead creasing. “You didn’t tell him what he will be experiencing, Nicholas. You do him a disservice. Left alone in ones own mind for a week. The horrors that boy has lived through. Ordinary wizards wouldn’t be able to handle a day, but you wish to put him through that!? A week with a hundred dementors would be more pleasant!” Spat Aldrich.

Flamel sitting passively in his cushioned chair merely stared into the fire. “He must go through with it. He alone has the power to defeat the Dark Lord and he alone must do it. I hate acting like Albus, keeping secrets from the boy, but it is a necessity.”

Aldrich stood up and walked out towards the long corridor of the castle, headings towards him room but stopped at the doorway. He turned to look back at Flamel with a look of disgust, “Say what you will about Albus, but he loved the boy as if he were his own son. You on the other hand are using him. Tell him the truth…he is not someone you want as an enemy.” and with that, Aldrich stormed off, leaving Flamel alone contemplating what he was about to embark on.

*****Meanwhile at the Burrow*****

“You three really should take a break from that,” Hermione said as she barely glanced up from her book. “You’ll really tire yourselves out and there’s no point in having you tired.”

Ron was diving and rolling, dodging the countless spells the twins were throwing at him in perfect synchronization. “Not now Hermione!” yelled Ron back, throwing up a shield just in time to block Fred’s curse. “This is a new record for me! I haven’t held the both of them in this long!”

“He is about to break twenty minutes.” Said George as he sent another scorching spell at Ron. “We need to speed things up here ol’ brother of mine”

“Couldn’t agree more!” yelled Fred as he rolled over, picked up a rock in the process, throwing it sidearm at Ron, striking him in the head catching in surprise as both Fred and George hit him with stinging hex.

“Ow! Spells only!” Ron exclaimed as he rubbed his head. “Rocks aren’t allowed! Spells only.”

“Yea, make sure you tell that to the Death Easters Ronald. I’m sure they’ll listen,” said Ginny as she came over to sit next to Hermione as both twins put their wands away. “Honestly, being unexpected would be the difference between life and death.”

The twins stood a few feet away with the arms crossed and sharing identical smirks. “When did Gin Gin get so wise oh brother of mine?” asked George.

Before Fred could answer, Ginny had wiped out her wand, silently cast levicorpus, hoisting both of them by their ankles.

“Hey!!” yelled the twins in unison.

“Oh dear, you two have done it now!” exclaimed Ron gleefully as he watched the twins floating upside down. “You know she hates that name!”

Ginny walked slowly towards the two levitating twins with a small smile on her face as she twirled her wand between her fingers. “Never…ever…call me that…Next time it’ll be the bat bogey,” whispered Ginny as she poked the boys in their noses.

Hermione and Ron roared with laughter as they watch the twins face go white from the threat.

“We’re sorry!” the twins again sang in unison.

“Good.” and with a wave of her wand, Ginny released her brothers from her spell, having them crash back to earth.

The five of them eventually began to head back to the house laughing at the incident, making fun of the twins and their face, when suddenly a white faced, dirty and tattered looking Draco Malfoy stumble out from the hedges.

Instantly, the four Weasley’s and Hermione whipped out their wands and spread out quickly, forming a semi circle around him. It was like a snake head appeared, and they were waiting for the expected attack. They were tense and on edge as Draco stared wide-eyed back at them. Fear evident across his face.

His robes were torn. His face was mixed with blood, dirt and sweat. He immediately threw his wand at the feet of Ron and threw himself to the ground with his hands up. “Please! I’m surrendering. Please…I’m here for help. I need Potter’s help,” He said as he slightly was shaking. “I promise I mean no harm.”

There was an uncomfortable silence as the four red heads and Hermione kept their wands trained at the Slytherin. They were exchanging looks not sure how to proceed. Hermione was the first to break the silence.

“What are you doing here? What do you want?” she asked hesitantly as she slowly walked over to Ron, picking up Draco’s wand.

“I need Potter. I need to get away from the Dark Lord. I need help…please… I beg of you…” whimpered Draco as tears began to slowly run down his face, leaving clear streak marks across his once proud face. “I don’t want to be a Death Eater anymore…”

“It’s a trap…it has to be!” said Ron, but even his wand was slowly lowering. He has never seen Malfoy like this and something in the sincerity in Malfoy’s voice seemed to strike a cord with the rest of them.

Even George had lowered his wand completely. “He couldn’t have gotten past the wards if he meant any harm.”

“That’s right,” nodded Fred in agreement. “He made the wards protect us from a broad array of attacks. If the person had any ill intentions, the wards would do vaporize the person. He designed it after one of the tombs he saw in Egypt.”

Ginny looked away from the twins and back at Malfoy. She didn’t know what to do. ‘I’m sure none of us do…’ she thought to herself. “I don’t know what you really are doing here Draco, but you’re coming inside.” She cast ropes binding Draco’s hands together. “Hold his hand Hermione. Fred, George, gather dad, Remus, and Mad-Eye and bring them back to the Burrow. If by any chance anyone has veritaserum, bring it.”

The twins nodded and at her and disappeared leaving Ron with his wand still trained at Malfoy.

“Ron, go tell mum and Bill that we will be having another guest. Have a specific room warded off just for him.” Ginny commanded. Ron too nodded his head and sprinted back to the burrow leaving his sister and his girlfriend to walk Malfoy back to the Burrow.

Malfoy stared wide-eyed and relief slowly spread across his body. Sure he was bound, but he was happy that they were bringing him in…at least for now.

Ginny finally looked at Hermione and back at Draco. “I don’t know what your real goals or plans are, but I know Harry, and especially not Professor Dumbledore, would allow us to leave him. Dumbledore would have offered him some sort of protection,” she stated but walked up to Draco and looked him directly in the eyes. “But I promise you Draco…if you cross us…you will wish we were still with Voldemort’s crew.”

And with that, the three of them walked back to the Burrow, mentally preparing for the circus that was about to occur.
