BRH, you're not the only one. I was just thinking that if they lost the data, I could offer them half the site as I have it stored on my disks. But the real thing is way better.It's funny how a site can crawl under your skin and you don't even notice until it's gone.

Thanks to Trainmon and all who got the site back up and running. It's been a strange 40 hours. SIYE is about the first thing I check up on when I go on-line daily. I kept re-checking and, as others have mentioned, felt a bit lost without it ( don't worry pcoates, you do have a life--just because it's a cyber one doesn't mean it's not valid, as long as you do some things as well ;-). This also makes you realise just how much goes into doing a site like this with not only the admin and editing et al duties, but with the technical as well. Especially, on a site that's as well set up as this one is. We the readers need a reminder of that from time to time. So, here's a big thank you to every one involved in running SIYE--long may you wave (or whatever your duties are)!

I felt as you guys describe and did all the same steps; is my internet working, is my work not letting me go to SIYE when I realize that the site might be down and I felt anxious trying to find something to read.
