Mary Sue Challenge Closed
It’s now time for Mary Sue to take a bow. Her Challenge is now closed. At the end of the day, or midnight as it may be, we have 19 stories to compete for the coveted title of Best Overall, Best Comedy, Most Insane, and Most Profound Social Commentary. I do not envy our judges on this one. Nervous breakdownns, hysterical laughter, and everything in between will not stop our hardy judges from picking the best submissions.

I know reading and judging has already started. I suspect they will need all the time available. I will receive their results by Tuesday, July 14, so I may tally up the scores and post the winning entries on Wednesday, 15 July. So watch your calendars.

I wish the judges some very good luck and skill and a robust thank you for Torak for his creative thinking of this Challenge. He is two for two in designing Challenges for SIYE.

Good luck to all the entrants! Torak put together a great challenge (I wish I could have found time to put in an entry). July 15th the winners are announced? How appropriate is that since HBP opens up in the States (not sure about other locals) Seven words? Sounds suspiciously like the 6 word challenge, except for the bonus word. - M_And

Torak, you did a super job coming up with this challenge - got me to post for the first time! Good luck to everyone!

Seven words? Something to do with the Horcruxes maybe...huh. No idea. I wish I could have put up an entry but then when I write spoof I go for a more, er....plain demented approach, with the writing less than perfect. So not the best for a challenge entry =) oh well :P

Milarqui came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.08 - 03:03PM to say:

I'm hoping that I'll get something in this Challenge, as it would be my first trophy.

Perspicacity came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.12 - 08:40PM to say:

It's an honor to compete--lots of great stories in the mix. In the words of the wandmaster, "Terrible, but great."

Best of luck to all the competitors and to the judges, who have a pretty rough task before them.

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.13 - 08:13AM to say:

Sigh--I've been informed that stuffing dismembered lawyers into a freezer probably does not meet the standard for the Social Commentary category.

Milarqui came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.15 - 03:49PM to say:

It is July 15th and we have yet to see the results. At which time will they come out?

Perspicacity came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.15 - 04:26PM to say:

They neglected to mention the year, merely that it falls on a Wednesday. It's worth noting that July 15, 2015 is also a Wednesday.

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.15 - 04:43PM to say:

Sigh yet again--Sir Ollivander is the hardest working man in show business...I mean in Challenge judging. We were patient with the movie, once we knew about the gladiator scenes they added. He'll post the results when he can.

By the way, the movie was incredible, despite what they did with our Harry/Ginny Holy Grail scene (yeah, the kiss). Nothing further--see for yourself (Bonny has really stepped up as an actress).

KateriBella came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.15 - 08:04PM to say:

I agree, Spenser. Great movie (I'm running on 2 hours sleep and one of my best friends was in the beginnings of labour through the entire movie - how's that for dedication?) , but.... Anyhoo, I'm rather nervous for the results, but am patiently waiting! :)

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.15 - 08:32PM to say:

I had a difficult afternoon at work and got home late. My anti-virus program said I caught something. Sot the computer is getting a full check before I go any further. Should have the results up by ...er...midnight? Some very good judging I might add.

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2009.07.15 - 08:51PM to say:

Went into labor while Snape was on the screen?! Poor kid! Harry if it's a boy; Ginny if it's a girl.
