Beta Readers Wanted!
Hello there boys and Girls!

It's that time of year when we again recruit new Beta Readers for our staff. I won't lie to you--outside of my stories--the work is hard and time consuming, but it is also extremely rewarding. Candidates must demonstrate superior skill in spelling, grammar and knowledge of the Harry/Ginny world. We also ask that Betas be authors themselves, both to ensure perspective, and to provide us with a better idea of individual capabilities. Please contact me if you are interested.

At this time, I am working to contact our current team members; trying to establish continued interest and current projects. For those who haven't already, please respond to my emails as soon as possible. Hopefully all of you are working with Challenge entries at this time. Thanks to everyone!

I would love to be a beta reader - but I am not an author, although I do have fantastic spelling and grammar skills!

We initiated the authoring requirement not just to help us in establishing capability, but also, and more importantly, to provide the perspective I mentioned. Our clients need to know they are working with someone who has sweated a story just as they have--deadlines, writer's block, creative organization, etc. Your writing doesn't even need to be Potter-related. I had an applicant who referenced a wonderful cooking article she wrote for her hometown newspaper. What we'd like is simply time in the pilot's seat, so to speak.

Hey, Spenser! I haven't received any e-ails from you, but I'm reporting here.

SNet came out of the woodwork on 2009.10.22 - 06:50PM to say:

How do we get in contact with Eric, now?

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2009.10.22 - 10:17PM to say:

Ginny Guerra--You replied on August 23rd. I've been distracted from finishing this project because of some family emergencies. Thank you again.

SNet--You can reach me via my Spenser Hemmingway email address. Thank you as well.

Hello Spencer I would like to apply for the post of a beta reader. Even though I have not posted any of my work on SIYE, I have written a lot of poems and fanfiction which I can e-mail to you if you would like it. Please let me know. Thank You

Lazy Lazuli came out of the woodwork on 2009.10.27 - 06:34PM to say:

Hi, I would like to apply to be a beta reader. I am a writer, in Harry Potter, as well as Percy Jackson and Pokemon on Fanfiction.Net. Although my grammar skills are somewhat lacking, my spelling is excellent, and I have helped other authors with plot and storylines, and they have all responded very positively. Is it possible for me to be a beta reader in just spelling and plot? Please let me know. Thank you

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2009.10.29 - 12:15AM to say:

Fantastic!

I apologize if I'm a bit slow getting back to anyone. I'm currently in a career transition. Beta applicants may reach me at spenserh@siye.co.uk and we would love to hear from you.

Also, current staff who have not responded to my emails and owls must contact me if they want to remain with the batting line-up.

One last thing--why are all of you reading this instead of sitting there typing...finishing your Challenge story?! I will beta read anything this week, even on short notice! Please do not embarass me by making mine the only entry! We have had incredible stories produced in just a few days, and absolutely we would love to read yours! Eric

chrisinator123 came out of the woodwork on 2009.11.07 - 08:36PM to say:

contact me as and I will probably be a beta reader for you! I love to read stories, and have no problem correcting them as I go though. I won't be the best, but I'm definitely not the worst.

Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2009.11.30 - 11:08AM to say:

chrisinator123--I'm afraid that I can find no reference to you at our site, and therefore can't even contact you directly. I'm afraid that do seek out the best, and we really try to weed out the worst when they slip through. I'm sorry.
