Happy New Year! Time to make your selections for the Dumbledore Silver Trinket Awards for November/December! The voting is now open and will be open until midnight January 10th. Please, please make sure to check to see if the story you are voting for has already won for that category. The story can not win the same category twice. They have a chance at repeated recognition with the Annual Dumbledore Silver Trinkets Award. Only those stories that won go on the ballot for the annual award.

As for telling you on the Voting page about previous winners, I'm not the computer gurus who have set up the voting, but I can tell you that all stories are eligible for Honourable Mentions. The previous winners include Harry's Stag Night for Best Comedy, Unintended Consequences and Meaning of One for Best Drama and Ginny Weasley and the Half-Blood Prince for Best Romance.

And why did we limit it again? I thought we had decided on another form of what we were trying to accomplish... Isn't limiting how many awards they can get kind of stupid.... its like saying a great show can only win one category and then cant win that category again...

A show is only nominated for an Emmy or the like once a year, which is the same limit as our award. The story can win again after six awards, which is one year. Plus, the stories are on the ballot for the annual award at the end of the calendar year.

True... But they only hold the Emmy's once a year... We're holding them every month... which going by their logic says we should not limit to every year...

This seems like a sub-optimal solution to me. Is there a way that is not too labor-intensive to have the system tells us on the Voting page which ones are not eligible? There seem to be a lot of steps in finding that out on each story. Also, for how long can a story not win again? Like can Meaning of One will never be Best Drama again? Seems like there should be a finite time period to give others a chance but also opportunities for truly awesome stories to have repeated recognition.
