well she let her anger get to her now my question is does Harry really gain anything from all of this because I am not really seeing anything maybe more power more tom again though I am not to sure that it will happen but hopefully it will so something good comes from this.

uh oh! that was intense, I hope Harry and everyone else are all right. I thought that we were safe with Ginny but I guess not. I did love how Ginny helped though, I was cheering her on. Can't wait to see what happens! and soon the third book will start! I love this premise and this part lived up to expectations, great part!

Interesting title - Maiden's test. So I'm thinking that Daphne didn't pass. She sunk to the lowest level, used unforgiveables (and she liked it) fought without Harry's welfare being the utmost concern, and in the end Dumbledore alone was responsible for destroying the diary. I will be interesting how you play this - Harry now has a life debt to Dumbledore, Daphne gets to deal with her bad side, Ginny has no life debt to Harry, Harry will be known as the victim of the diary, and Hermione and Ginny will have to overcome having seen Harry possessed, assuming the boy wakes up whole and hearty. You've got an evil streak man. I'm loving it. Rock on!

Maiden's Test indeed. Poor, poor Daphne. She's a bit insane, but I like her still. That part about Harry being conscious when she was torturing him was just great to read. At least you aren't light in your descriptions, and in thois case that's good.
I didn't see much of a dark theme in here. OK, there was the possession and stuff, but I thought there would be something worse. I'm gald there wasn't, this chapter is very good as it is.
Destroying Harry's mind? That would be quite an end, having to have him in a slow convalescence, even bearing some kind of mark.
The cliffe is not huge, but it makes me want more! What will happen to Harry?

Well, once when asked about how Harry's relationship with Ginny would develop, I said specifically 'no monsters.'

I lied. The monster instead lurks within Daphne. All of those negative emotions, the grief, the anger, all of it has clumped together into almost a separate entity. And she is absolutely horrified every time it breaks loose. Daphne values one thing as much as Harry, and one thing only: control. She likes to be in control of her environment, her fate, and most importantly, her actions. She clearly had control of none of them when she 'lost it'.

As tempting as it is, I cannot write a MPD Harry story or an insane Harry story. He still has to beat Voldemort. That said, while the impact won't be dramatic in one sense, it will be in another. And with that incredibly vague statement, I finish this.
