Well reading your AN note and I say just throw DH out the windows hope you really don't let that effect your story at all I personally thought that DH was a pathetic excuses for the ending of the HP world. Though really liking your story I would like to know how much time has passed from the begining of your story till now. I almost want to say at the most only two weeks though I really don't know for sure.

Author's Response: You've left a whole chain of reviews. I'm going to lump them all together for one response . . .

Josh,

I've been on vacation and prior to that swamped at work, so please forgive the delay in reviewing. I also owe you a response to the chapter-length email you sent a while ago.

Anyhow, on to this chapter. It felt like a set-up or transition chapter, where you stopped and collected many of the threads you've created. As a result, it seemed very cerebral, which usually is not the tone you take (sarcasm alert!), with a lot of information to digest. Now, that we've had a breather from all the action you throw at us, I'm expecting something explosive in the upcoming chapters.

Can't wait to find out where Snape's flights take us, what happens with Harry and Ginny (I'm really liking where you're taking her, btw), what pranks will happen, and learn what's up with DD, his magic, and whether he's in charge of all his faculties.

READERS: IF YOU'RE READING THIS AND HAVEN'T READ CH 25, PLEASE STOP. SPOILERS ARE IN THE NEXT PARAGRAPH!!!!

(Flash: I wrote the ch 25 review first, but I have to add a thought that just came to me, even though this is ch 24. DD's reaction/seizure while Harry was contained inside the orb: I'm wondering if Tom was possessing DD prior and learned enough to present himself in a manner he thought Harry would respond to. Also, compliments on the mental and physical fight Harry had within himself during the "conversation". Even with his huge skepticism, Tom was winning him over. What a salesman he is! Okay, back to our regulary scheduled ch 24 review.)

Is Harry always so confrontational? Even with his mentors/extended family, the relationships seems somewhat confronational or competitive. And that approach certainly extends in his other, newer relationships. Am I imaging this, or is this another theme you're exploring? And, no, I don't expect you to answer these questions. You never answer questions; you just ask more questions!!!

As always, I can't wait for more (since I've already read ch 25). I assume we'll get something after DH. Take care, Jim

Author's Response: Since you reviewed out of order, I'll respond out of order, to make the effect in-order. From the right PoV, of course. Hope you enjoyed your vacation. Mine wasn't much of one, and it just made the already staggeringly high piles o' work even higher when I got back. Sigh. I'll respond to your Ch25 commentary in the other review ... Confrontation is in the eye of the beholder, now isn't it? Does he think he's confrontational? Or just a simple fellow that doesn't like to beat around the bush? Hmm. And of course, motivation is quite interesting. Oh - your story is on my list. I'll get there. Glad you're still enjoying this story.

It's difficult for me to review this chapter at this point, but I'll give it a go. Here, watch.

Interesting.

See?

Author's Response: And with that warm-up... start the timer.

Cool idea on how to track apparition direction.

*writes note to self: Must steal ultra cool idea*

;-)

A ton has happened since the beginning of the story. But unless I am mistaken we haven't actually covered a lot of time. Is that true?

Author's Response: Glad you appreciated the concept. As time is relative. Today, tomorrow, who may say what lies next, or even whether the future, past, or present actually _be_ next?

Great chapter. Super dialogue. Glad to hear you´ll be getting more time to write. Why do canon police concern themselves with AU? Weird.

Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying the story. That said, more time to write doesn't mean chapters post faster -- my betas all have complex Real Life situations of their own, so there's usually a delay somewhere. When none of us have any pending issues, we can nail out a chapter every week or so, but that's been so rare these past months that it seems an ancient memory. And the reasons people pick canon nits in AUs? I've no clue. But you'd be surprised at the number of (inane) comments or questions I get about those things. Let alone people telling me how they hate one particular character or another, despite it being an AU, and none of the canon backstory is the same. Well, not since ...

Well...

I cant even think right now, as usual, so not a thought out review as I would like to give.

Poor daft Harry, unaware of why Healer Worthy was worried about his scar on his arm. Although, given this Harry, it wouldnt be surprising if he did.

Not surprising at all, at least to me.

And do you have nefarious plans to do with his arm and why you changed the one used?

I look forward to finding out why Dumbledore's aura was so off. Is he still under some dark magic?

I find myself waiting for the pranks to step up, and sincerely hope that they do so soon.

I cant wiat for more, and to see where you take this. Update as soon as you can.

~Tricia~

Author's Response: Not thinking seems to be your standard disclaimer these days. Are you sure your brain hasn't gone on hiatus, leaving you with a crumple horned twiddlybug in the lurch? Nefarious plans? This author? Do you have any reason to suspect I might? Or, for that matter, might not? The next chapter has a prank of the highest order. Trust me. The beta reaction has been amusing.

Welcome back

Excelent chapter as always they way harry delt with both dumbledoor & Cyril was very amusing as he started out so confident & then prompley dug himself into trouble again. The whole snape revelation was very well done so the main reson had nothing to do whith how harry felt about him personally but just that he was the must sutible target for testing the apparation tracking thery which says an awful lot about how harry views people and i supose he was just lucky that snape was a lousey techer otherwise he could have been in a even bigger mess than he is now.

So fudge is bipoler as you say that could explain a lot& also make predicting how hes going to react to any situation vet hard so iam looking forward to how they deal with fudge in futer chapters.

So onto outr favorite redhead i have a nagging felling that her being suspecasly near that particuler suit of armor just a bit to convenient. She also seams to be getting into remus theroy of magic quite a bit better than i thought (iam suspecting that her questons to harry may eventully lead to what her injeres were after taking out harry plus her effect on Norman).

Iam also quite looking forward to harry reinlisting in umbridges class as those sceans are always a fun read plus iam very intrested to see harrys reaction when he finds out what form umbridges detentions take (iam making a asumption that its still the blood quill) as i dont think he`s going to take to kindly to having his student & possabley his first friend assulted as iam pretty sure just as ginny has certain obligation to harry as his student harry has equal responabiltes to her as his student.

James

Author's Response: I'm glad you're still avidly reading and enjoying things. Things with Snape are interesting, aren't they? Do you think he really revealed everything, or just what he had to given the context and oath? How many other aspects are involved there? Fudge may be bipolar -- it's one theory that they have considered as a possible avenue to explain his irregularities. (Perhaps he should just eat more digestive biscuits?) As for the redhead and the armor, there are coincidences in life. Not many, but some. Which is it? Time will tell, naturally. The exploration for the theory of magic has many purposes -- partially to rigidly define the limits of what is and isn't possible, but also to provide clues about what may be going on in other places during the story. As for Harry and Umbridge ... spectacular is the word, I think. Just spectacular. Cheers!

Wow! That was one hell of alot of information.

The conversation with Dumbledore was extremely informative. I'm wondering if Harry will notice Dumbledore getting better if is magic calms down and then figure out a way to help him out.

I think you've made Harry very self aware when he stops to think about it. He usually knows what the other person is going to think about a decision he has made. He has trouble doing it when someone else is trying to direct him to reflect. That's an interesting plot point (although it may be meaningless).

The theory of magic as described sometimes leaves me as if I'm back in college trying to figure out what I just read. So if you are shooting for a textbook reading I'd say you nailed it.

I'm also enjoying the interactions with Ginny and the twins.

Good luck with real life. I look forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Was that a lot of information? Hmmm, I must be slipping. Are you sure it was a lot of information? Is that a comfortable place to be standing? (Yes, I know, that's a cruel thing to ask.)

As for Harry and his seeming inconsistencies of behavior and reflections, I'd suggest that there are good reasons why he has such fissures among his abilities. Of course, his ancient history is part of it, but so is the more recent history, as well as how he group and under what conditions that happened.

The Theory of Magic is fun to write about, but sadly, no, in Ch24, that passage was meant to be more understandable than the prior (rather dry) text excerpts. Those excerpts are meant to remind you of a textbook. Ah well, it's something to strive for -- casual introspection that isn't so dry.

I'm sure quite a few people will be happy to know Ch25 is in beta already.

Author's Response: And in demonstration that sleep deprivation and small fonts don't mix with review responses: "group" --> "grew up". From a few feet away, it sounds similar, doesn't it? (Humor me, I'm tired.)

Hi,

this is the first time I review for this story. I really like it. But I'm wondering, when and if Harry and Ginny are going to become a couple on this story.

Please update soon.

Author's Response: Hello to my new reviewer. I'm glad you're reading and enjoying the story, as that makes it all worthwhile in some ways. In answer to your questions, I'm assuming that you haven't read the other reviews or my responses to them. In short: yes and in Part I. (There are three parts.)
