Well seems like you have made Harry very mature that is just a little stretch I am thinking but other than that slight flaw the story is amazing.

'Twas good, as ever, I like that Hagrid is able to help Harry, he is a bit neglected by some authors. Update soon!

Nice chapter, as always.
I have to tell you that I somewhat dislike canon-Hagrid (though he's a good fellow, he's a bit besotted), and you made me like your insightful version of him. I couldn't agree more with the guy.
I have a feeling that those tryouts didn't serve any purpose... I'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
I reckon Ginny's too insighful for someone who is only 12. From the group of 4 "friends", only Hermione seems to be acting truly her age... and Blaise, perhaps.
The conversation between Harry and Zabini was interesting to read, though Blaise could just as easily be faking his fondness of Harry (I doubt it, but, with you, I never know, do I?). I'm looking forward to seeing those Occlumency lessons too... ;)
Now, Daphne... that never-ending mystery of a woman... I now understand her take on the scene, even though I do not agree with it. The reference in those last lines goes to Sirius, right? She should be more feared than Sirius (Orion)... but who is the "he" that must fear her?
Take care!

Author's Response: 'Orion' was just her stargazing. Orion is the 'hunter.' Sirius is the dog star, so the implications are obvious. Artemis was one of the Greek Goddesses of the Moon, and the goddess of the hunt. She's saying that rather than the hunters, it is she he should fear. It's kind of stupid, but it sounded strange and cool...
