Brilliant. Nothing new about that :)
Harry and Sirius' talk... well, I love seeing Sirius in any way possible (except when writers make him the evil guy), so I was thrilled to read it. Harry seemed almost too collected and he took a lot less time than I would expect him to consider the possibility that Sirius might be innocent, but I loved it all the same. I think both Sirius and Harry only see reason where they want it to be - both said some things that were right, and the rest was a bit biased... *sigh* Too bad for them both, I guess...
Daphne's way crazier than I ever thought she was, even after reading so much of your stories. Her reactions are those of a truly hallucinated crazed woman, I reckon. And a miracle happened in there: Sirius' head is still in place! Kudos to Wormie for letting himself be seen by Daphne. Speaking of the devil... Daphne with Ginny, Amycus, and perhaps Alecto slightly behind them; Hermione with a miraculously-arrived Blaise (kinda Gryffindor for a Slytherin, btw, that was a bit strange to read - he didn't know if he would come across something very harmful or not, and Slytherins and their self-protection instincts and all...); Harry with *shudders* Fenrir Greyback (who I hope meets Lupin and leaves the boy alone - strong Dark Magic and lycantropy don't seem like they should be mixed together like that...); so... Sirius chasing Pettigrew? That doesn't bode well...
I'm totally with Ginny - someone who kills and then just steps away like they couldn't've done soemthing more normal...well, I say, get Daphne away from Harry... I thought she could get better, but it seems it was just a wish, really :(
If the rest of the series is like this, then I'm a very happy girl :) Take care!

There is something in this story that I react to on a very visceral level. Everyone is quite dark, the violence is grotesque after a fashion, and you're really not all that sure if the hero is really a hero. Black, the most heroic of the lot, resorts to using an Unforgivable to underscore that point.

I can kind of see what's coming next, though I don't know the outcome of a lot of it. I'm quite interested to read it, though.

Author's Response: Yeah, that's where is at this point. War is dark and violent, without clear-cut sides and 'justified' violence. Daphne, who is an example of what war can do to people, is an extreme example of that. Trust me, it gets darker. Probably, it sinks to it's lowest point at the end of the sixth book; hence the title.

another fantastic chapter and you managed to pack a lot into it so start at the begging just as it looked like sirus was getting through to harry he had to use the impirus curse so that propbaly undone all that work. then the confontation with daphne was supurb it will be intresting to see how they deal with each other in upcoming chapters. Having blaze come to hermiones rescue was a nice touch and the one bright spot in this chapter therse is defenatly going to be and intresting relashionship. Poor ginny if her inocense wasnt lost in the chambere it sure has now and her reaction to daphine was spot on although i can see that changing if she ever finds out why daphine reacted the way she did (by the way dose daphine owe a life dept to giiny for what she did in the chamber0. i also be intrested in how ginny reacts to what happened to her in upcoming chapters my guess is that shell insist in joining harrys tranning whatever her mother thinks of it. Then thers harry the poor guy must be rellya emotional wreack by know and hes going to have a tough time trusting anyone in futer and what a place to leav it that got to be one of the best cliff hanger iv read and the wait for the next chapter is going to be a rlong one no matter how fast you post so thers no rush .

I have to say this was an excellent chapter, well worth the wait, just need to find out what happens next :D. I agree with how Ginny was feeling about Daphne, it would have been hard to face her after what she did, very interesting character you have in Daphne. Sirius using the imperius curse... don't like it of course since he has always been one of my favorite characters but I can totally see why he did it, he didn't really have much choice as far as he saw it. Hope you turn things around so Sirius can be in Harry's life as well. Liked the scene with Blaise and Hermione, never really thought of them as a couple really but I like how they seem to have accepted each other and that hopefully will continue. Looking forward to finding out whats on the other side of the cliffy, Werewolf Harry.... *eagerly awaiting next chapter* :)

I don't like the waiting or the cliffy but it was an amazing chapter :) As a note to the previous reviewer "Imperio" is not mis-spelled as it is the incantation for the imperius curse.

oh my god! That was the best chappie I've ever read! It was very well written (as usual :D) and the cut-offs were perfect. I really liked Ginny's response to Daphne's killing/torturing. Although, I think I would've reacted worse. Probably would've run away. The thing I liked best about that particular scene was that Ginny was feeling so repulsed by Daphne and how she knew that she could never look her in the eye again. It's small things like that that make a story good, and you nailed it :D I also liked the Blaise and Hermy moment. It was very cute. I nearly cooed. I don't support them as a couple or anything, but I'm glad that Hermy has maybe made peace with him. It's music to my ears :) The only thing I didn't like about this chapter was that Sirius used the imperius curse on Harry (another thing that bothered me was that 'imperius' was spelled wrong. There's no o in it... but it's OK because you have so many amazing things in your fics that one little pet-peeve of mine isn't going to bother me that much...) ...anyway... the only thing I didn't like was that Sirius used the imperius curse on Harry. He stooped to what he thinks of as "Daphne's level". I hope you give him a chance to redeem himself. He deserves it :D

Author's Response: Sirius didn't have a choice. He needed Harry to be moving under his own power. You could tell how much he was beating himself up about it.

Author's Response: Ginny wasn't going anywhere because she'd just been subjected to the Cruciatus Curse twice. She would have run if she could have.

You know, It's getting very difficult to even respect Daphne at all. I mean, I didn't like her much since the end of GM2, but now... I mean there is honor in staying above your opponent's level, but sinking below it? *Shakes head* Sirus' way of justification may be off, but he has so far done better than Daphne in the wide spectrum. Ginny's right, Daphne isn't so much grey anymore, but evil with a bit of light in her life. I look forward to see the repercussions.

Author's Response: That's what I'm getting at. Daphne's life is rapidly deteriorating and the battle against the Darkness is becoming a quest of personal vengeance.
