I've really enjoyed your characterization of Harry. He's still Harry, but a true Slytherin Harry. I've read other storys that give us the same Harry from the books, only in Slytherin, or a completely different person who happens to be named Harry. I think you have a good balance going.
One nitpick, didn't Harry meet Charlie? I thought Charlie was there picking up Norbert first year. Am I incorrect?
Author's Response: Well, by the end of this, Harry will be barely recognizable. He's already very different from his canon self.

well that was a very intresting chapter as we got a first look at Aiden greengrassand he seams a very intresting charecter and iam sure will feture more & more in the coming yeras he also seams to know a lot more than most about the exact reson harry was able to defeat tom the first time and it will be intresting to see exactly how he came by this information.,
It was alss good to see a bit more of Daphne Greengrass and the resons behinfd her aparent emotionless displays. (i know sevral revewers have mentioned harry & ginnt at the ball but my felling is that Daphne is the more logical choice at this point in the story and iam looking forward to see who`s right).
The other event that iam looking forward to before the nigtmare of the tri wizzared tourniment is harry finally getting the truth out of ginny and the consiquences that will result from it. The other thing i love about your story is the way harry & hermione react to ron as its just so deffrent from cannon and yet you stiil make it very blivable.

I don't know why, but I enjoy seeing Harry and Ron argue (only in this series, mind you, lol), so this chapter made me kinda gleeful :) LOL for Tonks getting out of the tent on her nightgown, by the way!
Uhm... I wonder why you threw the Weasleys into the World Cup scene... alas, I wonder what you'll be doing with the World Cup scene!
I'm also curious about: a) when Ginny will tell Harry and/or Hermione about her true "Daphne experience"; b) whatever the Hell Daphne was doing in Harry's absence.
I'm eager to read the conversation between the Greengrasses, Harry and Daphne (I hope she doesn't blow them into smithereens...). That sounds like a very interesting conversation, oh yes it does...

I have to disagree with valandar, i was just thinking thats exactly like ron would be if one of ginnys best mates was a slytherin, i can imagine him being exactly like that if for instance Malfoy turned up for lunch with his family. Harrys getting darker and darker in every chapter its brilliant. I would be interested to see what hermione would be to him if he went compleatly dark, would she stand by or agaist him? looking forward to further chapters in darkness rising

Will be interesting to see how the meeting goes between Aiden Greengrass and them, though if the same death eater attack as in canon happens I take it there may not even be time for a meeting.
Curious how you had Harry comment on having gotten over his fascination with Ginny and brings an interesting question to the front, whether he has indeed or if he is in some kind of denial. Will be cool to see what happens at the Yule ball (if you are going to include it) and if Ron likes Hermione whether he will be such a big git over it all.
Always fun reading incidents between Harry and Ron. Ron can be so belligerent and judgmental, while Harry in some cases sounds a bit like Malfoy (just not as bad nor as hurtful, i.e. Mudblood). Though I suppose Ron has Malfoy characteristics in a lot of how he treats Harry as well :) .
Hmm... whats Daphne hiding... Looking forward to the next chapter! :)
Author's Response: Both Ron and Harry are at fault in this situation. Ron harassed Harry and ostracized him First Year, and Harry hasn't forgotten that. Yes, he antagonizes Ron, occasionally in a vicious manner, whenever he feels like it. I'd say it's a great deal like Malfoy, which is what I'm getting at. Harry's personality has greatly broken from his canon self at this point. As for Ginny, Harry doesn't have the slightest clue what to think, so his thoughts are somewhat self-serving.

*Sigh* Okay, it's now pretty much too late to ever have a reasonable Ron. He's been given toomany opportunities to see the light, and it is now impossible to beleivably have him turn around. The character, and pretty much his essence in the Potterverse, is now pretty much toast, and in my mind, unbelievably so. This Ron is not the Ron we know from the books. He may automatically dislike Slytherins, but he can change hismind about a person - such as Sirius Black. And he liked Slughorn, a quintessential Slytherin. And to be honest, I'm really not sure if I'm interestedin reading this story. I'm not a huge Ron fan, but it seems an almost inordinate amount of this fic is dedicated to Ron bashing.
Author's Response: Really? I bash Ron partially for comic relief, and partially because he deserves it. He's distrustful of any Slytherin period, and only likes Slughorn because he doesn't act like a Slytherin. Yet I blame him for giving Harry his irrational blanket dislike of Slytherins, and therefore preventing him from having any contact with them. Ron is quite loyal and a good friend to Seamus and Dean. But Harry? He thinks he's worse than Malfoy. He thinks he's a manipulative bully who stole his sister from him. And because Harry owns him at Quidditch (mostly because Ron is playing out of posiion with little confidence) he dislikes him even more. Ron's behavior is no different than it is in the books, I'm simply putting a different spin on it. I'm contrasting it with Harry's mindset, and thank makes you think different about him.
