Gripping action. Shame the dragon had to get hurt.

Well don't understand Harry not getting the same Dragon as last time and really why the dragon spent more effort to kill him i mean the whole plot is to get Harry through this so Voldy can get his hands on him don't get why your making it harder but it did make a good read.

I liked that. Much more realistic than the book's version. I also like the the 2 scenes between Harry and Ginny. I can see them starting to figure things out, but it's just not quite there yet. :-) And I wonder about Hermy. :-)

Hi,
well I think it's pretty obvious the complexity of character Harry is when Daphne is involved. I loved this chapter for many reasons: it's very clear Harry and Ginny are getting close, the scene at the lake when he shifts his position for her.....

The task!! totally different from canon but remains the fact that it serves for one purpose, to show everybody (generally Ron) that the tournament is no joke. I'm dying to find out Daphne's and Ginny's reaction to Harry's participation in this first task and when and if he tells them abut the dragon being controlled (because of how you have portrayed the characters, I guess he'll tell Daphne at least)

Crickey considering it less than 5000 words you sure put a lot in this chapter.

First we had some nice conversations with ginny & could we just see the beging of a thaw in hostilatys between ron & harry. Also they way ginny seams to be able to reasure harry more tan hermione was good to see hermione maybe hi first & best frend but ginny just seams to understand him better.

As for the task well that was bruteall first of it lokks like harry got the better deal with the short snote (which it looks like bagman fixed hm more conspraseys). then when he gose agenst it it turns out it being manipulated to kill harry defenatly a step up from cannon leving harry with only one coures of action which iam sure going to have all kind of consequences. (now ive seen what you did with the first task the next two are going to be a riot).

Whoa!
Poor Harry - what has not gone wrong with the task, really? He got a very agile monster, which happened to break him all over and, misery of miseries, the dragon might not have been just a plain dragon but a controlled dragon - by Voldemort himself, one of his servants or someone with their own personal agenda, only you can tell. I'm guessing Harry must've come last in this task, with inflicting so much damage upon the dragon and all that *shudders* - not that coming first seems to be the most important aspect in here - whoever set this up (and as of right now my bets are on the fake Moody, but that's probably what you want) seems to be trying to anihilate Harry straight away, without the help of a cup and a showdown in a graveyard. Or was the presence in the dragon different from the person who entered Harry's name?
Hermione and Ginny must've been screaming their brains off, the poor dearies. As for Daphne... I don't know what to think about her or what her reaction will be. And here's to hoping Sirius wasn't in attendance...
Is something wrong with Ron? :|
Also, about the almost-rape thing in the last chapter, I wasn't criticising you, just giving my own opinion. I've, fortunately, never been in such a situation, and hopefully never will be, so I wouldn't know either ;)
Brilliant chapter. Take care :)

Author's Response: I didn't take it as criticism. You are one of my most loyal readers, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I want constructive criticism in any case. Krum would have come in last, because he didn't even finish. In my universe, hitting a dragon in the eyes with a Blinding Curse in an enclosed space would probably result in more damage to the castor than to the eggs.

One of the best Action scenes I have ever read, you have really out-done yourself with this chapter. Brilliant.
