Well that was a bolt out of the blue, make her pregnant then off her husband! Bit harsh, although does make it slightly less complicated (not by much though) when Harry does return not by much though!

Somehow I knew poor Ollie was about to get Bludgered to death. But that opens the door for Harry's return, which I can't wait for - but I'll have to - I have to leave and can't read again for HOURS! Argh!! :D

OK, I read the reviews for this chapter right after I posted mine and almost laughed out loud at Zoltan42’s review simply because we had the exact opposite reactions. Isn’t that interesting that he thinks the two men fighting for her would make for the better drama where as I like the idea of Harry and Ginny reconnecting being about them and who they are and not about someone else –even though the memory of Oliver will surely be a factor? Different interests in story types is fine, but I don’t think it’s fair to say you’re taking the easy way out. You’re just telling a different story than the one s/he was anticipating. I agree with your response about Ginny’s vows. At that point, Ginny was off the market, and Harry was no longer an option. Frankly, I’m glad you’re not going to break up their marriage as that tends to make me uncomfortable. I thought Harry would be part of larger problems that would pull them apart.

Author's Response: The memory of Oliver will be a large factor, as will other things! In some way, I think it would be pretty easy to write about two boys fighting over a girl, but ( i hope, at least) the route I'm taking will be more interesting! And Harry's definately no homewrecker. Thanks again!

As soon as I saw the chapter title, I though “OK, she’s either going to lose the baby (either miscarriage or when it was young), and they won’t be able to reconcile their grief which will deteriorate the marriage or bye bye Oliver. I never thought, however, that she wouldn’t ever see him alive and whole again. Ugh. Pain is right. Of course, in the flashback, again, telling clues. Sure she loves Oliver, but the fact that she didn’t associate Hermione’s described feelings of overwhelming passion with Oliver, was very telling. Poor Ginny. So, you’re going the single mom route for Ginny rather than the Harry wooing her away. Don’t get me wrong because a good chest thumping story can be good, but the problem with those is that Harry is not the type of guy to break up a marriage, and unless it’s a bad marriage, I have difficulty seeing Ginny abandoning her husband. Those stories certainly can work depending on how they’re constructed, but this will make it about Harry and Ginny finding each other again and reconnecting on a different level. I think it will make for a deeper, more interesting story. I still am dying to know where Harry has been. Can’t wait for the update.

Even if I liked your previous chapters better than this one, I don't really agree with Zoltan42. Just because you "killed" Oliver doesen't mean it's easier. Of course he's 'out of the way' but that doesn't have to be any help for Ginny and Harry to get together. We'll have to read on, I guess =]
Like I said it wasn't as 'outstanding' (lol) as the previous ones, but as it's not really an easy thing to write that's probably okay. But I really like your story so far and I will definitely keep reding it. I'm looking forward to the following chapters and I like your fast updates. Did you already finish the story and will you update it chapter by chapter or are you still in the process of writing it?
I'm just asking because I hope you didn't kill Oliver Wood because of those reviewers who didn't like Ginny's and his realationship.
All in all: GREAT!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review/encouragement! I'm ...maybe 75 percent done the story (So Oliver was a goner long before I even posted the first chapter); I'm getting nearer to the end every day, so I will be able to update fairly regularly (if i don't run into any big snags, that is!)

You have surprised me once again with Oliver's tragic and untimely death. Since Ginny's marriage and Oliver's death happened in two chapters, there must be quite a bit more substance to your story to come. I beg to want to read more chapters with an utmost sense of urgency. Pretty please!!

So rather than have to deal with Ginny having to decide who she really loves, having to deal with the prospect of her eventually leaving a man who loves her, you just get rid of him. Oh sure, there I'm sure there will be angst a-plenty when Harry returns, arguments about where he's been, probably guilt on Ginny's part that she may be betraying Oliver's memory, but no where near the drama of two men vying for her.
I hate what seems to be the resident naysayer, but you took the easy way out. Sure Harry will have to work to regain her affections, but no where near if she still had a loving husband in the picture. Oh I imagine it will be difficult, but relative to Oliver still in the picture, it will be far easier -- and for me after the build up of the prior chapters far too easy -- than it would have been otherwise.
Author's Response: i'm sorry you feel this way - i hope you keep reading. Oliver's death is only a prelude to other things happening, in a way, although it is a major event. I'm approaching this whole piece with the idea that when harry returns, Ginny is a different person, changed by grief, responsibility, motherhood, etc... and harry is a changed man too, in incredibly serious ways (which i can't explain here without giving importnat things away). I wanted to explore the idea of how things change when you're an adult, and how you can love people differently, and have it still be love. The way Ginny loved Oliver and the way she loved harry are far different, but neither is less significant. If you read further chapters, you might see what I mean, i guess. But thanks for the critique, and I do hope you will keep reading (Also, this is sort of an unrelated side note regarding Ginny,'s character, I believe that if her husband, a man she vowed faithfulness to, were in any way still in the picture, she wouldn't betray him for anyone, not even Harry.)

How horrible!!!! I hope Ginny and the baby will be okay. First Harry leaves and now Ginny gets married and five months later her husband dies. She can't get break can she. Is Harry going to come in the next chapter or anytime soon? Great chapter and please update soon!!!!!!!!
