I love the tender scenes you're showing between Ginny and Harry/Sean. I'm also really glad you made a point of saying her marriage to Oliver wasn't a mistake, especially since she has little Ollie. Thanks for the lovely work you've done here!

It seems that no matter what my intentions are, I’m reviewing your chapters in pairs. Sorry, Buffy. Actually, I read this when it posted and planned to review the next day, but… well, yeah. So, I have not read the next chapter and won’t spoil myself before leaving this review.

First, I meant to say this, what, two chapters back, but it occurred to me again while rereading this chapter. I found it quite amusing that Ollie refused to call Harry “Sean”. Hee hee.

As for this chapter, so… Ginny didn’t uphold her promise. Yes, that’s the sticking point, isn’t it? Ron never gave up on Harry, but Ginny did. At the same time, what else was she supposed to think when all evidence was that he left? I like to think that Ginny would’ve hunted him down and brought him back if that were the case, yet, at the same time, you can’t force people into the life that you want them to live. I assume that this had much to do with it. To her, Harry’s departure was a rejection of her, of “them”, of her family, of all she treasured and held dear. I can understand how her pride prevented her seeking him out. I always had the attitude that if a guy I was interested in was not interested in me, then that was his loss/ it clearly wouldn’t work anyway. I’m sure that something of that nature had to be bouncing around in her head as well. That angle is not so much pride as practicality. Why should she throw her life away because he had disrespected her in that way? Of course, that’s the problem. Why would Harry disrespect her that way and turn his back on all that he loved. That should’ve set off all kinds of alarm bells. And, yes, how could she regret Oliver. While different, she did love him, and he adored her too. He gave her Ollie. Ooooooohhhh this is going to be fun while they work this out.

I love all the paths you could take this down. Will they remain platonic until Sean becomes Harry… or will she fall for Sean and then he becomes Harry and he freaks when he feels like she broke her promise… so many possibilities and detours along the way. I’m off to read the next one!
~ Christine

Author's Response: thanks for the review! Yeah, there's a whole bunch of ANGSTY possibilities for me to play with here... *evil cackle*

Did Sean go to his girlfriend's place that evening and what happened? "Oh darling, I have some interesting news. I'm not Sean Collins the data entry clerk, I'm really a wizard named Harry Potter." How many days have passed since he was brought back into the wizarding world and have any of his muggle friends or girlfriend become worried at his disappearance? What about friends or acquaintances at work when he didn't show and didn't answer his phone?

In my review of a previous chapter, I wondered whether a slow reemergence of Harry would serve as a mechanism for reintagrating Harry into the wizarding world in such a way as to reduce mental and emotional stress, including the recognition of the lack of faith in him shown by his friends (an idea which was suggested by eaglebird). But even so, as this chapter shows, there is Harry's reactions and those of the others. Ginny is now grappling with the question of her promise to Harry to wait compared with her actions including the lack of any effort to find him. Why did she and the others give up on him so quickly and assume that he vanished of his own accord? Although it will pain her to think about it, what if Oliver hadn't died and Harry recovered to find that she was married and that he and Ginny were irretrievably separated? Would he choose to stay in a world where the person he most believed in gave up on him? As it is, as Harry recovers his memories he may ask himself those questions and where his future happiness is made possible only by someone else's death. What about the others? When will they question themselves? Why did everyone accept that Harry chose to leave them?

The performance of the aurors was especially disappointing. Harry disappears and although there was a search, the aurors seem to have been convinced in advance that his disappearance was voluntary. Experienced aurors who knew Harry, including Moody, were completely snookered by someone simply packing up his luggage and sending Hedwig away. That Snape was still at large and had access to the house didn't enter into their thinking at all. That Harry could have been Obliviated never occurred to them nor that he might be living as a muggle. All these years he was living in London and only by accident is he found. The aurors made the fundamental mistake of letting assumptions get in the way of investigation. Maybe they need a refresher course in basic investigation?

BTW, I still want to know why you are the Evil Queen Buffy.

Author's Response: there will be a bit more information re: the auror's investigation later in the story - they weren't as lax as y'all might think, given the circumstances. Thanks so much for the awesome review. P.S. - I am the Evil Queen Buffy because I AM... haha! It's as simple as that!

this chapter is way too short buffy. i really liked the ending though because it was a bit sad and melodramatic and i'm a sucker for that stuff. go team angst go!!!!!!!!!!! i know they are going to smooooooooooch but i wonder if it will be before or after sean remembers his life as harry. that would be interesting if she is kissing sean instead of harry. i know you well and i know your probably going to do that and then ginny will feel bad and then there will be more angst. i am reading your mind right? also you shoud be proud of my leaving a serious review.

Author's Response: ricky, i am ALWAYS proud of you!

Wow, either you set that up very well or I read your mind. I was thinking that marrying Oliver had not been a mistake. Geez, I'm good! lol jk. You're the one who's good. =) Sean's nice but ahhhhhh, I want Harry back! >.< Bring him back...!

Author's Response: thanks... and harry isn't gone forever (as you probably have figured, given that this is a H/G site!)

One of the main attractions of this story for me is how you are exploring that post-Hogwarts "Harry and Ginny apart" and how they come back together within the angst framework architected by you. The key structural premise is that everybody didn't look hard enough for Harry and Ginny seemed to abandon her love for Harry fairly quickly to first date and then marry, fairly quickly, and then bore Oliver's child. It is our own real world standards that you are challenging in this fantasy setting, based on other reviewers comments, but then you are juxtaposing those same standards onto the characters in the story. I love the fine line you have created and I am now wondering if Ginny really did cross the line with her actions. She is certainly feeling guilt because of her increasing feelings for Sean, but I think she is really in denial at this point and is missing the increased feelings of Sean for her. Since this story id from Ginny's POV, we are missing out on some important facts from Sean's life. I hope the next chapter reveals more about his girlfriend, his muggle life and what choices he will have to make between the two worlds when he finally recovers his memory.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your comments! The next chapter will indeed provide some much-needed detail re: Sean's girlfriend, etc.

I am sorry, I was in the middle of crying when I came to the end and never realized that the chapter was over til i could no longer scroll.
Amazing chapter especially when you had Ginny questioned her marriage and Olle, I loved it. I do hope that soon we get to know what the problem is and when Sean is going to spend some quality time with Ginny and Olle.
I look forward to another spendid chapter.

Author's Response: were you really crying? wow! Thanks so much for reading - I promise the next chapter won't cause any tears!

the last couple of sentences of this poignant chapter just about sums everything up. it's very realistic both H&G should have moved on after the nasty situation which forced them apart. both H&G are strong and i do not think Jo penned martyr characters but flawed realistic ones who know when to start re-living after a sensible period of mourning a lost love. i am clueless as to how you'll pull H&G together considering Harry seems content with his Muggle life and love and Ginny knows her priority is basically being a good Mum to Ollie. looking forward to the fluff-angst in the next chapters :>

Author's Response: i like flawed characters and difficult relationships! It's harder to write, but more realisitic and interesting, I think. Thanks so much for reviewing - hope you will keep on reading!

Another very good chapter. I really like your Ginny character in this story. I was thinking that you must be a mother to really know how Ginny would feel about her son. They always come first no matter what your feelings are about anybody else.

Author's Response: no kids, but I have a nephew and 2 little nieces I'm a surrogate mum to, and I would do anything for them, so I can imagine my sister's feelings would be so much bigger than mine. Thanks for the review!

Author's Response: yep, he totally likes her - ginny's in denial, just a little bit! thanks for reading!
