I'm not sure I thought it was cute nor sweet. For some reason I don't think that's what you were aimin for. I kept think of what my Dad once said (while I was in the middle of a teenage rant about something)..."It's NOT all about you. The wold doesn't revolve on it's axis for you and you alone." He told me when he was in the war, he took all of the death and hurt to himslef, and blamed each death of one of his men on himself. He was the one suffering. Then the task of writing letters home to parents, wives etc fell to him and he had to come to terms with the fact that it WAS war, he could have done nothing to prevent what happened and it was NOT all about him.

I never read any of the letters, but they must have been quite something, as so many people, this long after the war still write to Dad, and he or Mum always write back.

I'm probebly 100% wrong, but I thought the point of your story was that you can't carry it all inside, not talking about it, not realising others have suffered too, without going a bit insane.

Author's Response: Actually, you're 100% right. That is exactly what the story is about. When I wrote it, I was thinking of a bad car accident in my family a couple of years back and two people were killed and how there were a number of people who seemed to think it was their fault for letting them go out/not going for th drive/etc. That's what I kind of based the story on.
